game starts at 1000am local time. I expect Aussies to hand out a severe trashing to the W.I.

I think it will be a lot tighter than you think. These pitches will make the batsmen work for their runs bigtime. It's good to see competitive scores in the sub-300 range again.

Plus, if Katich opens the innings, we may struggle to get over 100.

the pitch has demons in it - always a good sign for the under dog.

The pitch will at least keep both teams in it. Winning the toss will be a major factor, as I think the team winning the toss will bat first and batting second on this pitch has been difficult.

I heard Kat was out of the team and that Watson would be opening the innings.. I think that Gayle will come good Hussey will continue his golden run.

Morning folks

just heard the pitch report frm greiggy..syas the misture isstill in the pitch.... looks like another day where ball will dominate the bat??

WI will be decimated by Aus - just too different levels of skill on display today

WI bowling attack will be found out today. Not enough quality there I'm afraid!

WI 0/5

WI = West Indies: 20/1 (6.0 Ovs)
Toss: West Indies (Elected to bat)

Aleem Dar is 3rd umpire today.

44 for 2

Why didn't McGrath open the bowling? Can't argue with their strategy as each opening bowler got a scalp, just curious.

Don't understand WIndian selection, pack their side with batting(much of it mediocre at best) and leave their bowling resources very restricted, should play at lease one more frontline seamer namely Collymore.

West Indies: 64/4 (16.0 Ovs)

Looking down the barrel...

64 for 4

It's all on Lara now you feel.

Lara the Saviour today ? Once Windies cross 250, then they can make a game of it - anything below that is going to be not so easy

If Lara stays until WI get to 200, they have a pretty good chance of making it 250+

watson back into the attack. it seems a little strange that an opening batsman is a fast bowler.
