While I absolutely love Pakistani weddings and most of it has to do with the dances and all that fun in Mehndis but that being said I don't agree with the way its done.

It may be a bit of sour grapes from my side since I am not a good dancer at all but I don't know why but parents treat dances at wedding like a competition and having special choreographed dances for the wedding. Like after all it's a moment of celebration and having few people left out from having fun just because they are not good dancers could be really demeaning and demotivating.

What you guys think about it?

Dancing is the best part about weddings and this is the main reason why I enjoy Indian Punjabi weddings more than the Pakistani ones.

If you're not a good dancer then no one is forcing you to do it. "Including everyone" is just a joke, you can sit back and watch.

Have you ever been to any Pakistani wedding? There are a lot of dances.

Yes, been to a couple. I didn't say they don't have dancing but Sikhs just know how to party better than anyone else. Pakistani weddings mostly have vomit inducing Bollywood/Urdu/Hindi music.

At one of the Pakistani weddings I went to there was no music at all, they started playing Naats instead. :moyo

Pakistani weddings in the West are really boring as Overseas Pakistanis tend to be more religious than the native Pakistanis. Pakistani weddings have Punjabi music too. I have no idea what you are talking about seriously.

Most people at Pak weddings can't dance for their lives:faheem Aunts and Uncles shaking a leg is even funnier trying out some fancy steps:)):)) Pathan dancing is much easier then doing the bhangra!

Bhangra is elite dance.

Pathan, Afghan, Arab weddings are the most boring but if you ask them they will feel its very fun so each to their own.

Whiskey, kebabs, bhangra music, dancing... later dinner with naan and makhni chicken... the best parts of a Punjabi wedding.

As for the OP... as they say, dance like nobody is watching.

Don’t worry guys if you want a Arab style wedding with no music or fun and segregation. Go ahead.

You mean Indian punjabi, cause Pakistani Punjabi weddings don't have any drinking, at least the overwhelming majority.

Lol no, most Pakistanis in America are less religious and even among religious people dancing is common in weddings here. I haven't been to a Pakistani wedding where there wasn't any dancing, it always gets lit.

Yes, I should have said Indian Punjabi. I haven't had the good fortune of attending a Pakistani Punjabi wedding.

Is drinking also common in Pakistani weddings in America?
