David Gower and Ian Botham to be removed from Sky's cricket coverage

Seriously feel that Mark Butcher should be part of Sky's A team, he's absolutely excellent. Certainly be a vast improvement on Key or Knight on the test coverage.

I hope wasim starts to bring more to punditry this time than his name

He really needs to stop reading the scorecard every over and instead give more insight of the play

Lol agree, the guy is a joke as a commentator

looking forward to three tests of comparison of naseem shah's age to that of mohammad amir on that fateful tour.

He's really better suited to be a radio commentator, with frequent references to score and reminiscing about stories from his playing days that viewers can easily picture.

"Here comes Joe Root to the crease. He is playing his 95th match for England and he averages 48.30 with 17 centuries."

"The score is 33/1 and Joe Root hits the ball to point. It is picked up by Yasir Shah, who is one of the best fielders in that area."

Isa Guha, the lady they had lined up to replace Gower as the test match presenter has signed up to be the face of BBC new 100 coverage. Looks like Sky will turn to Rob Key or Ian Ward to step up from the limited overs coverage.

She’s beyond terrible.

Wasim's commentary and grammar are embarrassing. Would much prefer Rambo Raja too the seat instead of him. Is Beefy gonna be there too?

Wasim Akram is so atrocious, Hussain just asked him if Naseem Shah bowled this wide off the crease previously, and he responded that he'd never seen him bowl before. Stealing a living as a commentator.

He is Wasim Akram :)) He gets paid for letting people see him and talk to him

"Naseem Shah is getting ready at the top of his mark. He is a right-arm fast bowler and averages twenty six point eight four after playing four tests and taking thirteen wickets for Pakistan."

doesnt look like wasims improved one little bit

It’s so refreshing to hear Atherton and Hussain on commentary who clearly do support their country , but as cricket commentators they support and appreciate good cricket first and are not biased in any way - they praise players from other teams sincerely and not reluctantly or unwillingly as one or two other gentlemen who used to be on Sky commentary panel - not mentioning their names.

I never learn anything new when I listen Akram's commentary, bring back Ramiz .. atleast he had the occasional impish humour.

Shows that Wasim learned to commentate from Shastri when he first started working for Star Sports fifteen years ago. He's never bothered to improve.

Can’t wait for the day the serial moaner and hypocrite Holding finally retires.

Akram is still not a patch on Harbhajan though, who was easily Sky's worst hire in its 3 decades. The latter would just stop midway and refuse to complete the sentences he'd started until Mike/Nass would cattle-prod him back to life. It was the 2018 tour I think.

Oh yes. He never contributed unless somebody else asked him a question. Then he gave nothing more than a terse reply with zero emotion.

But that was a one-off and he has never commentated since.
