David Warner is a legendary cricketer known for his explosive batting and incredible achievements on the field. He has been a key player for Australia and a fan favorite around the world.

Now, Warner is taking on a new challenge by entering Indian cinema with his debut in the film #Robinhood.

Big moves, mate! Can't wait to see you smash it on the big screen as you did on the field.

David is goanna be a gangster... Waiting to see him on-screen.

I remember Brett Lee also tried his hand in Indian cinema and failed miserably. Hard for audience to relate to someone that looks white Caucasian. May be a few character roles. Can never dream of becoming the lead for any sustained period of time.

Even Shashi Kapoor's son's who are half Indian could not make it big purely because of their white Caucasian looks.

These gimmicks don’t work 9/10 times. Most cricketers I remember are flops in movies . I remember watching Moshin Khan in a couple of B grade Hindi movies back in the day. Kambli and Ajay Jadeja were also in flop movies.

Recently saw Bravo dancing in a cringe item song in a Tamil film- don’t think anyone watched that either.

Won’t really help the film

Will he be miming an Indian song?
I'm sure people will pay good money to see that 😂

I wonder what makes them think they would be popular then? Might it be due to sycophancy which they experience while they are in India?

I think Brett Lee tried to get into singing and not acting. He was collaborating with Asha Bhonsle to launch an album. Don't know what happened to that.
There have been many successful white caucasians in hindi cinema though. Perhaps they don't get into lead roles because of their bad Hindi, but that hasn't stopped Indian audiences from relating to them. The legendary Tom Alter and a few others even spoke very good Hindi.

Overestimating their popularity. People are fans of their cricketing skills. But watching them on screens as a lead dog in a movie is different story.

Anyone that looks white(Even full blooded Indians) are relegated to caricature roles of British officers in some freedom fighter movies. Our audiences do not accept foreigners easily. We have not seen an Asian looking lead hero in Bollywood or South Cinema yet. Dany Denzongpa comes to my mind. Even he was never a solo hero. Always casted as a side hero or villain.

As per earlier reports,Warner's role is more of a comic one/caricaturish .it's like a drug lord in Australia .I don't thibk he has more than 5 minutes of screen time.

Name of actor in larger font than name of movie. Indians and their never ending bootlicking of gori chamri
