target 280 (west indies need 166 runs - pakistan need 4 wickets)

please place all updates to day 5 here....

Well We will not give up our 1-0 lead that easily, and predicited thunderstorms look to have made our job of maintaining the 1-0 lead all the more easy. but if there is a full days play then barring something specail you guys should win it

Sars_pal - I totally applaud you for your support of WI - wish we had fans like you on the Pak side !!

Anyway - we want to see the same infectious optimism when Pak play England in November and you cheer for Pak !!!

Of course ill cheer for Pakistan agianst England! I actually beleive you can win that series, you are playing good cricket right now you drew a series with India and are well placed to do the same with us! and England would have got battered or at least lost the ashese before they play you, and a lot of Test Cricket is about momentum so yes I like your chances and will be rooting for you guys in that series

Storms ( in a tea cup ) and thunder during the day but as sars_pal points out, they dont last that long!

so there is hope - I suppose good news from Pak view is that WI will be looking to defend - they dont have a choice and that can accelerate their demise.

If it does you should win but th only thing with Jamaica is when it raisn it pours while the storm may not last to long you guys just need to hope that the outfield doesnt become unplayable as this can happen to if the pitch and outfield become to waterlogged

Put it this way - if the weather intervenes, Pak have no one to blame but themselves ! they gave away advantage atleast twice in this match - good teams dont depend on weather - they also dont make heavy weather of s a simple task by their own fault!

That is a fair comment! but its been a great series! so it seems a shame that it could be marred by weather but it has been throughly enjoyable

Good sars_pal - trust Pakistan to bring joy to everyone but their fans !!

Seriously speaking - great and inspired performances by WI bowlers have made the difference so far and the Lara Factor!

I must say whatever the result in this game for us, I have seen a considerable improvement in our Test performance, Collymore seems to have it toghterm our batting line up is farily strong although can collapse at times and our fielding has sharpened up! still a long way to go for us but im seeing encouraging signs

Very encouraging for the Windies. Before the Test series, the Windies were probably at their lowest point ever, with no encouraging signs for the future.

Whatever the result of this match, at least Edwards and Collymore have stepped up.

And most importantly, Browne has probably played his last match for the Windies.

yea I agree.....windies have done well against pakistan, who for me looked a bit below par...but all in all gr8 series...

Good series because we have 2 evenly matched very average sides which has given us a good contest.

Lara, Chanderpaul and Collymore were the main stars for Windies where for us it's been mainly Younis and Inzy and now Danish.

Im actually now wanting to see WI win as I hate draws in a series (as shown by when I was supporting Pak when it was 3 - 2 against India). Plus it would be very enjoyable Cricket to see Windies take hold of this game again and make a dramatic comeback such as their Champions Cup victory.

With a 50% chance of showers, its gonna be touch and go ie Pak will need to take chances as they come - one dropped catch or missed run out and its curtains for the series !

I can confidently predict there will be no rain, unless of course i'm wrong.

The chance of precip is no more than 40% ! that in my book is not serious - hold on people !

Thunder Stroms predicited though so hopefully from our point of view if it does come it will do enough damage to keep us off the field as long as possible

Whatever play we have - Pak will need to surround the bats with 9 men and let Kaneria and Afridi have a go - the same pressure worked on the Indians - run will not matter now - if the WI play for the whole day - they will win ! so its gotta be attack attack and attack - will be one cracker of a match !

Im hearing its likely to pour but not till around lunch this is good news for you guys!!

But it does give us a smidgen of hipe if These two can last the first hour

Thats it then - Pak have 2 hrs to finish it off - dont say that they werent warned - pure attack !

Weather had some close calls in matches played by other teams elsewhere. This one seems to have an anchor - I hope it clears out inshallah

Im feeling sad for Shaperd!!.... he lost his respect in last 2 years but he will be remember as a good umpire

Interesting statistics capsule: Inzamam made his 22nd Test century yesterday. Out of the previous 21 occasions, Pakistan have won 16 times.

Also this will be the last day of umpire David Shepherd to stand in International Test cricket. Very emptional moment for him today. Players and the two umpires walking in the field. Everyone shaking hand with umpire Shepherd for the last time.

RIP !!!!

Persisting with Shabbir !!

40.4 Shabbir to Browne, no run, pitches a bit short, angling in, Browne comes half forward and lets it go
40.3 Shabbir to Browne, no run, good length ball, on the off, again lets it go
40.2 Shabbir to Browne, no run, outside off left alone
40.1 Shabbir to Browne, no run, pitched up, on the off, gets forward and plays it down to short cover region
Shabbir Ahmed to start the proceedings on Day 5

why not Afridi ?

man shabbir have to let the windies batsman play the balls, rather than wasting them

And crcbz says:

It's nice and sunny here at Kingston, no signs of cloud as per the weather department

:)

Pakistan had better finish this off quick, i'm watching the match at work and i wanted to go home early today

Inzi taking a big risk by not trying Afridi straightaway ! maybe he wants courtneys wicket before unleashing Arfidi on the rest of the tail - hope he isnt thinking of saving runs !

LOL shabbir is bowling an line wich they can leave he will only get wickets when he lets them play !

Afiridi needs to be brought in - Shabbir allowing them to settle in !

Guys don't get too excited .. Pakistan is perfectly capable of letting this match slip away ..like we have done lately ..and may I add very consistently

Afiridi needs to be brought in - Shabbir allowing them to settle in !

how does he let them settle in by not letting them hit the ball with the bat?

they aren't getting confident in batting.....just leaving the balls

please please get shabbir off!!!!!

no zip in his bowling plus no accuracy either!!

bring on the freedee

even if pakistan wins ..some people in this team have to be shown the door .. if Pakistan cricket is to move forward in Test Matches ..

Shabbir needs to go back to the shed - time to bring on the Rolls and put the rest on foot patrol....

It is time to blood some youngsters ...specially in the bowling department .. Rana and Shabbir have to go ...Anyone replacing Rana cannot bowl worse than him ..

Well said- but they will persist with Shabbir - I suppose the fans have been looking for him for months now !

Unfortunately if Pakistan wins this game ..many sins will be forgotten ..and it will be back to those mediocre bunch of cricketers holding the reins of Pakistan Cricket ...

46.6 Shabbir to Browne, no run, pitched up, comes forward and plays it down to mid on, maiden over!
46.5 Shabbir to Browne, no run, good length ball, on the off, left alone
46.4 Shabbir to Browne, no run, sharp incutter, edges that to gully
46.3 Shabbir to Browne, no run, bit short, outside off, left alone
46.2 Shabbir to Browne, no run, again pitched up, on the off, comes half forward and plays that to gully
46.1 Shabbir to Browne, no run, pitched up, comes forward and pushes it to cover point

Dont want a maiden - want a wicket ! Chal Bhai

I feel Shabir will be asked to correct his bowling action for the umpteenth time .. So he might not be there for English Series . A player can only play for 21 days once his action has been reported ..as far as I know

A big shabaash to the lads out there, looks like they are gonna finish this off soon so i can leave work early

Bad decision by Shep - expect more as the spinners bowl !... Ump Shep - mediocre umpire does his stuff again

I guess Shepherd is trying to make up for all the horrible decisions that he has meted out to Pakistan starting from 1987 world cup semi finals when Pakistan was going so strong and lost bcoz of his erroneous decisions .

as i said have patience boys...shabbir wonderfully..
cant take him off!!

Heard it was a very good catch by Kammy. Who's watching and please describe.
Thanks.
