Losing to USA was shocking as they’re not even a minnow but beneath a minnows

They lost a test at home to Zimbabwe back in the day but Zims were no push overs in the 1990s

yes, that could be put down to a bad day at the office, some very questionable shot making, and maybe even other factors i wont go into here.

this loss will be a long time coming, it solidifies the complete destruction of Pakistan as a test team, not just a bad day, but lack of skills from top to bottom, and the fact that no one will be surprised by is the final nail in the coffin.

Yes by far. Completely unacceptable. But I don't see a cure. Babar Mafia has destroyed us completely and utterly. Humiliation is a monthly ritual.
 
Not that much of an upset considering that Pakistan don't have players for this format .

The loss to USA was a bigger upset. Some had Pakistan as one of favourites to win the Cup because it's their best format.

Loss to Afghans,in that manner where they were so completely dominated, in the ODI World Cup is a close 2nd. They were #1 in the format not long before.

PAK have been losing Test matches for a long time. Nothing new here.
 
It is humiliating but not an upset

This is the consequences for the actions Misbah Ul Haq took five years ago. We may have not been the number 1 team in the world but we were moving forward and we had direction

Today however we keep on reaching new lows. First losing to Afghanistan than USA and now Bangladesh at home. At this trajectory I will not be surprised if we are relegated to minnow status in a couple of months
 
I knew Bangladesh would beat Pakistan in this test series. So it is not a big deal. Why are we surprised?

Pakistan is a rubbish team in all formats. Tell me is a team with stars like Shakib, Mushfiqur and Mehidy Hasan not better than pushovers like Masood and Saim Ayub?
 
Can someone give details of the surgery that was performed after T20 World Cup humiliating exit.
 
Objectively speaking, this is not an upset. But it will sink the national pride of Pakistan more than any other defeat I suppose.

Pakistanis are a proud kaum, none of them would have even imagined this 10 years ago. Most painful defeat perhaps, but surely not a big upset.

Bangladesh can draw the next match at same venue . PCB don't know how to produce supporting pitch so another road is on the card.

The way it is turning out, Bangladesh is favorite to win the next test match as well. I see Pakistan playing for a draw the next test.
 
Bangladesh are a decent test side and for a pretty weak Pakistan, it's their worst format. They have beaten better teams in the past

Bangladesh have a pacer who has already bowled at a higher avg pace than the over rated Pakistani princesses.

Bangladesh have better spinners than Pakistan and they will play the second test match with even more confidence.

Pakistan have no tricks.
 
PCB has two options now, either they can preserve the carefully crafted brand Babar by offering a patta, or they can look to restore some pride by digging some holes in the pitch. Will be interesting to see which way it goes (if there's enough time for that).

Between Pakistan and Bangladesh, I would always support Bangladesh. But things have changed and I want Pakistan to thrash them in the next match.

Hopefully this setback will help them bounce back to what they are capable of.

Maybe because i am a Punjabi but i always considered Pakistanis my brothers and had no feelings for Bangladeshis. Even when we have been at war with them.
 
Not the bigggest upset given Pakistan has gone winless at home for cuple of years, but a huge upset agaisnt BD at home.
 
Both teams upset themselves.

PCT upset themselves by collapsing against BD's popgun attack.
BD upset their Test record by actually winning a Test.
 
Pakistan hasn't won a Test in England, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa since May 2018 (when they beat England at Lord's).For a team once renowned as the best traveling team from Asia, they have lost 12 of the 14 Tests in the interim! So, would you still call a defeat against Bangladesh an upset?

I rate this among top upset in Pakistan cricket history . Know one imagined Bangladesh can beat Pakistan in Pakistan that too in test match

Pakistan has not won single test at home in the last 3 years. First need to win at home.
 
It is not an upset anymore given Pakistan's decline and BD's progress in pace department. Also Pakistan doesn't have any bowlers who can take pitch out of the equation. So it is even more puzzling to offer flat pitches to visitors. May be simon doull was right all along about why flat pitches are prepared in Pakistan.
 
How is it an upset when i predicted from Day 1 we would lose. what is shameful that on that pitch to lose is embarassing no doubt. Then we are not good enough to go for wins we should only go for draws so why on earth you think you are good enough to declare.

I believe three times in last 2 yrs have declared and lost
 
I am not surprised at all. I previously commented in another thread , Pakistan cricket is beyond repair now. As I said in that thread , I repeat , You can wake up a sleeping person , but not someone who is awake but acting.

We may feel bad about this and hope somewhere that things will change , trust me it will not. Yes Pakistan may win a match here and there , but they will not be a force to reckon with anymore. Even the bowling is looking toothless.

2. This is not an upset anyway. We are similar level to Bangladesh these days. But usa was below the belt.
3. Worse will be the series defeat expected. We lost 1 off in the past too and any team can. But this time I am expecting series defeat.

Afghanistan is stronger, so it's not a suprise.

Ireland will be a bigger blow 100% though.

Pakistani fans are living in a delusional reality but I kept telling others by 2023 wc Afghanistan had surpassed Pakistan.

Pakistan is lucky they didn't meet Afghanistan in wc 2024. Would have been one sided.

1) USA is still t20 which has featured the biggest amounts of upsets in the history of cricket. Test is known to be the purest format.

Or it could backfire spectacularly and result in a bigger Phainta ... a whitewash against BD .... ooh I cannot imagine the meltdown On PP if that were to happen 🤣

What does flat pitch have to do with anything ? If the pitch is really flat , like dead flat , every team would struggle to take 20 wickets even over 5 days.

We got a result in 350 overs(including 2 over breaks between innings) . That's 4 days of Test cricket .

It was clearly a pitch that had a result. Just because the result didn't favour PAK doesn't mean the pitch was flat.

And anyway the truth PAK don't have any notable strengths to be kept in mind while curating a pitch. They have weaknesses on every kind of pitch.

Green mambas are lottery in subcontinent. After one session it won't be grene mamba anymore. Toss will become critical. Secondly when you offer a pitch like that you should ensure your own batting is good against such bowling if the opposition poses similar threat.

Pakistan may still beat these teams , but the bad thing is that before the game you give 50 - 50 chances to both teams , maybe a little more towards opponents. If this is the case when you are playing such low ranked team , then you need to have hard look where exactly are you in the world standing.

Yeah , just leaving grass doesnt make it a green mamba, The grass will dry in a session in the heat and more than a flat track - will aid spin more. I still think the best option is to make a vicious turner - and hope Pak batsmen have the luck. A lottery of a wicket that spins from ball one - and save their seamers on these flat tracks

I don't think anything can be lower than the USA defeat which ultimately is the reason of WC exit
 
This is not an upset, forget worst upset. It is though a confirmation of how poor we are.

To lose is one thing. To lose by getting bowled out for 146 where the 1st two innings combined were over 1000 runs (and not even 20 wickets were taken) shows how mentally weak these guys are. All match Pakistan either had the upper hand or the match was on equal footing. As soon as Bangladesh had a slight upper hand, the whole batting lineup crumbled! 146!
 
Naqvi has ruined PCT left right and center. I don't know how will we recover.

Defo multiple losses to Zimbabwe. Yes we lost to USA but Zimbabwe losses became a meme.

Losing to them in 2020 was unforgivable, it happened 2x and then we even got a bigger thrashing in the super over against them then we did against USA.

We also lost to them in 2022 wc.

These are consistent losses and reminders of how crap we are considering Zimbabwe is the same team that got booted out of 2024 wc by Uganda.
