I understand it is unfair to give someone a debut on a tour of England which is extremely challenging but I'd say better to throw the in the deep end and see if they can sink (e.g. Umar Amin in 2010) or swim (Azhar Ali in 2010).

If Azhar Ali opens - it open our middle order for 4 middle order batsman so Haris, Babar, Usman and Asad could all play.

I am in favor of stacking our middle order with batsman because it is the batting that is our weak link so the more the merrier. Our pace bowlers have enough juice in them anyway to extract movement in English conditions so expect our bowlers to do well anyway..

Thoughts?

Thanks to Mickey for not trying out either of Saad or Salahuddin in both practice matches. Chances are we will have the same failing batting order step out against Ireland. With nightwatchman Sami, nepotistic bhanja Imam, golden boy Babar and poultry farmer Shafiq forming the bulk of the batting. Iss team ka Allah hi hafiz hai. Only hope is that acha bacha Azhar scores a double ton and mustaqil mareez Harry scores a 70-100.

Her merits a chance, but im not really a fan.

Saad Ali is the one who has really been wronged. Was miles ahead of every other batsmen and he made those runs quickly in a season dominated with awful wickets.

Let hope he is waiting to debut them in UAE

we have complained in the past we let the kids play overseas and let the oldies play in the UAE. That wont happen this time. The likes of Asad have to stand up

Pak probably has missed a great opportunity by not trying out Saad or Usman. Now they have had zil batting time in the UK and could be needed in the 2nd test after a few failures from the regulars (or injuries).

It's a pity.

Yes deserves a chance.
Although a level below Haris but even he would have been a much better investment than Shafiq and dare I say Azhar Ali too.

Haris, Babar, Usman, Saad, Saud Shakeel
These 5 should be in our long terms plans for the test middle order.

:))

In all seriousness - I think this series is Asad's last chance. Do or die for him now.

You summed it up nicely but lets hope Mickey does not do that and we get to see Salahuddin play against Ireland.

Usman is already 27 - if he doesn’t debut now, when will he?
