So it seems after the loss to sri lanka england turned it around, getting roy back in the line helped a lot for sure.

Do you guys feel that once they dropped Moeen Ali after that game, that their world cup turned around, and their team looked more balance

i am a fan of moeen ali, but he has not had a great world cup

Plunket and Roy carry this England team.. Ali did better than Rashid..

Changing Moeen helped but the real change was the return of Roy. England's main strength in this tournament has been their opening partnership and every match that Roy and Bairstow have gone on to score, England have won. Without Roy, Bairstow was having to do too much. As for Moeen, i don't see much difference between him and Rashid so his exclusion isn't really the key change that spurred England.

Adil Rashid may go for a few but I always back him as a wicket taking spinning option.

Moeen Ali has a lot of talent and I like the guy, but unfortunately he is a gutless cricketer.

He has done ok with the ball but is horribly out of batting form.

Bringing back Plunkett has been important.

Moeen will be back for the Ashes. Guy has 180 test wickets already, more than John Emburey and Phil Tufnell.

Nothing to do with Moen exclusion. .Simply Roy is a much more dynamic batsman and has scored big in the tournament. Moen bowled even better than Rashid in earlier games and provides very useful runs. Against NZ Moen would serve them better than Plunkett..

Just feel as if the Asian cricketers have always had to try and fit in instead of actually taking the game by the scruff of the neck like the good Asian cricketers from the sub continent would.

Too many people like moeen on here, can't be due to cricketing reasons because he is a club level cricketer!!

I am a big fan of Moeen Ali. It is not just for cricket related reasons; it is also due to his polite behavior. Great ambassador for gentleman's sport.

He is overrated. He is more known for his stories about how hard it was for him growing up lol.

As soon as he was dropped, England played their best cricket. Not good enough to play as a specialist spinner, and not better than any of England’s top 6. There is no use for him especially if he isn’t in form.

Not that useful in LOI. His bowling is not good enough to be the main spinner and his batting has really declined. England’s attack is much more potent without him. I think it might be the end for him in ODI’s.

He could be a useful option as an opener for England or in top order. But he's definitely not a lower order batsmen.

Hes never looked convinicing with the bat Always seems like a walking wicket

Even today a perfect opportunity to win the game for his team n hes bottled it

He was economical with the ball, but once again flopped with the bat. He looks like a different player in domestic cricket. If England want to field Moeen, he needs to play in the middle overs, where he can take on the spinners.

he was lucky that at the time england needed a spinner and he was the only option they had, useful batsmen but not a front line spinner, the fact he played as a bowler almost helped his batting as he kept being moved up and down the order and that excuse was used to justify his poor form.

Massively overrated player. I can remember when he made his intentional debut I was thinking why were they selecting him? He never set domestic cricket a light.

England’s greatest match-loser. Under pressure, he is as useless as Amla.

If England want to have a proper go at the upcoming WT20s, they will have to get rid of him ASAP.

Whats with the hate here?
Moeen ali is surely an international class player and he will play a good part when eng tours india.
His bowling is underrated.
He is a better batsman than what his average suggests, i think he"ll turn it around in some time

Phenomenal today. He is an insane striker when on song.

And a very useful bowler. He has the potential to end his career at the Shakib level if treated well.

Moeen Ali says he "finally feels back" for England after his man-of-the-match performance in the second Twenty20 against South Africa.

Moeen, 32, hit an 11-ball 39 to help England post 204 before they won by two runs on the final ball.

The all-rounder, playing international cricket for the first time since a six-month absence, said: "It was amazing to contribute and finally feel like I am back for England.

"I will not take it for granted."

After a poor run of form, Moeen was dropped for the second Ashes Test in August and soon after chose to take a break from international cricket.

The matches on the white-ball leg of the tour to South Africa have been his first for England since the break, although he remains unavailable for selection for the upcoming Test series in Sri Lanka.

Moeen, who has played 60 Tests, 102 one-day internationals and 27 T20s for England, said he "completely lost" his hunger for the game but now feels he is "getting there" and hopes to return to the Test side in the summer.

"I am going to give myself a bit more time," he told the Test Match Special podcast. "I want to make sure when I come back I am ready and fresh.

"I want to keep enjoying my cricket and get that hunger back because I feel I lost that completely.

"I had no interest in my batting and bowling and when you are in that situation there is no point playing.

"I definitely feel like I am getting there and not far [away]. I want to give myself extra time and know when I come back I will have to fight for my place."

England play West Indies and Pakistan at home this summer and have a five-Test series against world number one side India next winter.

"I do want to be part of that (India) for sure," said Moeen, who is England's fourth highest wicket-taking spinner in Tests. "I still have huge ambitions for Test cricket.

"It is still the best form of the game and the hardest. I want prove to myself and to other people that I am not a bad Test player."

so what do you have to say now mr.Bohuti gallan ni kari di.He did well in that one day match also.He is a match winner.Keep em coming mo

He is a great striker when is on song. Imo similar to David Miller but both are a bit inconsistent. That's what has stopped them from becoming ATG Finishers

Mo has a lot of talent But unfortunately he just cant handle pressure well

For eg Hes fine batting first when theres a few overs to go and he can have a go but crank up the pressure when chasing and hes liable to crack in a tough 50\50 situation like the other day

Id take a guess and say all his big scores in limited overs cricket would be setting a score rather than chasing them down

A fine player, who could give balance to the team.

That’s a really good option to have.

And also an inspiration to all the Asians / muslims in the UK

Well guess what, under immense pressure a lot of folks fail so why single out Moeen?

He is a skilful bowler, a safe fielder and a more than handy batsman. Like it or not be he will easily make it to the first eleven in a lot of international elevens (across all formats!)
