There should be a breakdown of an umpires career stats with a column showing the number of times DRS was invoked on his decisions.
1) DRS - umpire correct
2) DRS - umpire wrong - overturned by DRS
3) DRS - umpires call
When the ball is clipping, if the batsman is given 'not out' by the on-field umpire, he's still 'not-out' even after a DRS review due to it being 'umpires call'.
When the ball is clippping, if the batsman is given 'out' by the on-field umpire, he's still 'out' even after a DRS review due to it being 'umpires call'.
The umpires record and career stats currently show that both his decisions were 'correct', even though in one instance he gave the batsman 'out' and in the other instance he gave it 'not out', despite the fact that Hawk-Eye was predicting that the ball would have clipped the wicket in the exact same place on both occasions.
Even if an umpire was biased and consistently favoured one team on marginal decisions, which were upheld by DRS due to 'umpires call', his record will still show as being good, with the implication that he was impartial when in fact he was not.
The breakdown of an umpires DRS related stats would be a good yardstick of whether he is actually a good umpire or whether a significantly above average 'umpires calls' makes him look good (and unbiased) when the reverse is the case.
