Start delayed by rain as S.A look to avoid a 5-0 whitewash in game 4 of the series.

Shame, if England had won 5-0 they would have gone to 2nd in the ODI table.

There is still hell lot of time, why shame?

Play due to start at 1.15pm Uk time - 39 overs per side with 20 min break inbetween.

Good News. hope there is no further rain

South Africa, meanwhile ring in two changes, Philander comes in for Albie and Ntini makes way for Nel

England have named an unchanged XI.

1 Ian Bell, 2 Matt Prior (wk), 3 Owais Shah, 4 Kevin Pietersen (capt), 5 Andrew Flintoff, 6 Paul Collingwood, 7 Samit Patel, 8 Luke Wright, 9 Stuart Broad, 10 Steve Harmison, 11 James Anderson.

Conditions may make this a bit of a crap shoot, but at least England have won the toss against a pretty weak looking RSA team.

it just shows the inconsistancy of the teams in one dayers, apart from australia, the other teams r pretty much equal apart from bangladesh, on their day their good, but r equal to serve garbage from time to time, englands ranking of number 2 would be false :)

Jimmy was bowling quick but was just taken apart by Gibbs

Could this be another Gibbs masterpiece?

Looks like Rain will win the day today sadly!

Game looks to be reduced to 33 overs a side now... Looks like D/L method will kick in at some point!

Weak S.A team ? This is almost exactly the same team that was recently the number 1 team in the world and wins about 75% of it's games. Bad form sure....but weak team ? Please.

Amla going mad here. This is how he plays in domestic cricket...fluent and scores quickly. In tests so far he's been far too conservative. I really wish this boy would come out of his shell more and express himself...he's loaded with talent.

Flintoff into the attack. Intent from the South Africans. Run out. Jeez.

Amla hits 4 fours off Harmi's over.

Amla runout
SA 66-1 after 9.1 overs

now he gets run out....oh man...just when i thought he was going to have a great day.

Australia have always been the number 1 side, you were there only for some time...and we know what the Aussies did to you in the World Cup.

Kallis has been embarassing to watch on this tour batting wise...bowled well though

It looks a good batting pitch so SA will need around 180-200 in their 33 overs to make a good contest out of this!

nope. In any way you look at it that;s plain wrong. South Africa have been number one in odi's at least 3 times in the last few years. Against South Africa they enjoy about a 54-46% dominance. Very little difference between the sides in odi's.

Kallis could be out ct behind. catch reffered to 3rd umpire

Kallis 1 ct behind off Flintoff
SA 75-2

Hey ..Kallis has been on form for about 12 years....he's due a lean patch.

Flintoff gets Kallis.

Kallis going for a retarded flash to follow up an even more retarded walk down the wicket-pulll shot.

One of them won the World Cup last year.

The other choked as it always does.

That's the difference between the two sides.

Sure, but the point remains: he has been an embarrassment on this particular tour.

There are chances of rain again. So possibly more reduction in overs. SA will atleast want 200 - but probably 220+

AB gone...terrible time to lose a wicket , just when they needed to start hitting .

Gibbs 62* needs a 100 for SA
SA 125-3 after 24 overs (total 33 overs)

last two overs 11 and 13
Gibbs 73(72) - Buminy 20(17)
SA 154-3 after 27 overs @ 5.7

Wow...now Gibbs gone. I can't recall the last time South Africa have played so badly in Odi's ...

180 will still be a game. Really needed 200 though. The wicket isn't totally flat so we should have a bit of a challenge for england regardless.

need 10 an over from here...still possible with Boucher out there...

Boucher has got no form. The whole S.a side look flat and homesick.

180 will be decent. I don't think the england opening partnership can fire again and let's see how they do under pressure. This is such a joke because in reality England are an awful side made to look good the past few games and S.a ...a great side...looking terrible. Sanity has to prevail eventually.

they keep losing wickets as soon as they start to score...philander gone this time

189 ? ..hmmm...it will be an interesting chase anyway. Surely the world has to come back to the way it always works eventually and england get thrashed.

if longer delay then Trescothick on TMS. His book comes out tomorrow. Currently Eric Clapton chatting

England has to be batting by 5:36 (or :46???) to get 20 overs in or it will be called off. The rain is not bad and some clear sky coming this way.
