Let's be honest, if England does not drop those 5 catches at Lords, the first test mach would have been a lot closer than what it was. That along was worth 125-150 runs and has probably saved ******* like Asad Shafiq and Azhar Ali.

Now that we don't play test cricket for another 6 months, these two will go to South Africa and get us humiliated.

In the long run, those drops were the worst thing to happen for Pakistan cricket. We needed cut throat bold thinking, like bringing in guys like Fakhr, Saad Ali, Saud S and Usman S, but now cause this series will be tied, we will be stick with these guys for a long time.

We know these two Azhar/Asad can not get us over the hump, so we really needed to do an Australia and discard the old and bring the new, but now that wont happen.

Our future has to wait a lot longer, when it needs to be here now. We need bold thinking.

If hasan caught Buttler yesterday, things would be looking a lot better right now for Pakistan.

If Pakistan didnt drop sachin multiple times in mohali, Pakistan would have another WC trophy.

Lets bring up all old dropped catches to take credit away from teams.

I am taking nothing away from our bowlers, they have done amazing, but we are carrying a cast of average batsman and hoping to win test matches. I will bring this thread up after south Africa when we are down 3-0.

You might want to consider adding the drop catch off Babar in the second innings at Malahide. I am fairly certain that would have been the end of Pakistan too.

When we drop catches, the victory credit goes to the other team but in a reverse scenario, per doom and gloom pessimists, we get lucky and wins don't count.

Credit goes to Pakistan in the first match to extract the best out of the conditions and vice versa in the following game. Sarfraz took a gamble not bowling first and we batted pretty poorly too after being under pressure.

We have to realize that this squad will go through changes and its progress will be a slow process in tests for the number of tests we play.

If sl did not drop the catch of sarfraz they would have won icc champion trophy

I wish the series was a bit longer so that we could really weed out the useless from the useful.

Pakistan has never performed in South Africa. Totally different conditions.

I expect a 3-0 there as well.

But if we do managed to win a match, I wouldnt call that a fluke or blame South Africans for a poor performance. As having to play 5 good days of test matches is impossible to fluke.

I honestly dont get where PPers are coming from.

If Pakistan win, its because the opposition played poorly. If Pakistan lose, they are blamed for losing, not because the other team did well.

Again take nothing away from the bowlers, they setup the win. But we should not sit in our glory with tinted glasses. The greats are always looking to get better.

Schumacher, Federer, even in their wins they always look to get better.

We will say oh, we won, our batting is fine, but we should really get more critical about it. Our batting still is horrible and that is a reality.

There is a difference between expecting better from your team, and discrediting the team even when they accomplish something (not saying you, its other PPers).

Last two series in England:

3 matches won
3 matches lost (about to lose the third one)

Some PPers will tell you we fluked our way to 3 test wins in England :afridi1
