What exactly is an ethnic minority and is there a majority within it?. For example Indians are larger than Pakistanis in Uk, yet how reliable is data?.

Pakistanis apparently dwarf Bengalis and sikhs barely a decimal point, visibly, the stats lie.

The data is based off the census every 10 years. How do the stats lie?

If you are basing it on perception then it depends where you are and who you see.

If you are based in London you may see Sikhs and Bengalis on every corner but come up North and they become more scarce.

Growing up in Glasgow I don't think I ever met a Gujrati or Bengali but the Pakistani community was massive. Weirdly there are quite a few Bengalis in the highlands.

In many areas of the UK you will not see a brown face at all.

So overall its hard to base it solely on your surroundings.

Majority of the areas with a high sikh population are so filthy and disgusting, e.g. Handsworth and Derby, these guys need to integrate and at least have a bit of self respect for basic hygiene and cleanliness, unfortunately they have impacted how we view an ethnic minority and especially anyone who has a turban on

2021 census data set to released in a few months, guess we will find out, but wouldn't be surprised if mixed race people are the fastest growing ethnic group, numbers doubled from 600k to 1.2m from 2001 to 2011. the future is all shades of brown, lol.

Ethnic minorities are essentially defined as non Anglo whites.

The numbers are irrelevant.

More info at GOV.UK site.

Every government form, Passport, to Driving license, will ask you your ethnicity.

The ethnic record stems from post WW2 migrants from former British colonies.
