People were saying there are no replacements even in 2015 but replacements came in and won CT 17. Yes some of them have gone downhill from there.

However my point is everybody is replaceable and there are always players available to take the oppurtunities, yes they might not be fully developed for international cricket but then stars of international cricket you see today developed in international cricket with time. Smith, Kohli, Williamson, Steyn etc werent the stars they are now when they started but they worked hard and got better. You just have to find people who are willing to take it to the next level

Yes a good domestic structure can make the transition of the players easier but transition phase still remains. If somebody has the willpower and passion to improve and take it to the next level he will always find ways to keep on taking the steps in the right direction.

People saying we dont have Kohli, Buttler, Smith etc waiting are wrong in understanding of the player development. Just see debut two years of any of the stars today, you will see struggles and failures but at the same time willpower, hardwork, determination to do better and these characteristics made them what they are today.

You just have to find the right characters and you will see them turn into stars with time.

When a reporter asked Waqar whether Pakistan Cricket was finished due to the absence of world class superstars, he mentioned that what the country needs are not super stars but most importantly heroes. There is a world of a difference between a superstar and a hero.

Exactly. One needs to find heroes and right characters and they will automatically become stars. When you select someone solely based upon bit of ability with bat and ball and ignore all other factors you will find players who might get early success with bit of skills and the factor of being unknown but in the long run if they dont have the motivation to grow everyday and work hard to get better they can never become stars. I think our cricket has been suffering for it for sometime where players with bit off skills already get overwhelmed with little bit of fame they receive and they become content with that.
