Excellent innings by Misbah-ul-Haq

The title said it all..
Misbah batted brilliantly today.

Survived the new ball, took his time and when everything was right he started hitting quick runs.

That is something was missing in Shehzad's and Azhar's innings. They should learn from the legend himself.

In this innings he actually set the platform for Pakistan to win which he often does. Credit must given where its due.

Credit must be given to openers as well, their slow innings was able to made the bowlers tired and frustrated.

Hope Pakistan is going to win this test in third innings on this slow, low and two paced wicket.

Though some will question Pakistan's approach but all is well that ends well.
Kudos to captain, openers and management.

Great innings! I just hope Asad can get a hundred as well. The two batsmen I've watched most closely over the past 2 years are Azhar & Asad. The way these guys carry themselves on & off the field will have a huge impact on the prospects of our test team in coming years.

He's starting slow.. but it doesn't matter. Just hang in there and get a big score!

But this is all Grandpa Technique is good for. Low and slow wickets facing a two man attack. Put this same attack on an Australian wicket and he'd be nicking it left and right.

Strike rotation is alien to Misbah and his protege Azhar ... It doesn't take a whole lot to go at 3/ov or better ... 3 singles and punishing the odd ball will keep you at that rate. But obviously that's something Misbah hasn't shown much interest in.

Hopefully once Sarf takes over, his approach to rotate strike becomes the identity of the team. We easily left 40-50 runs on the table due to blockathon as usual.

Similar sort of innings have cost us test matches and in those innings Misbah didn't manage to get 90+ because he was facing superior attacks. This approach has certainly cost us wins.

You must have forgotten Umar Akmal's match winning innings to tie the series on our last journey when WI side had far more quality. Your favorite Asad Shafiq averaged in single digits on that tour as well.:asad

to be honest Misbah was always missing when we needed him the most and his approach towards batting is will always be center of discussion whenever Misbah's name is mentioned.

I don't like Misbah's approach towards cricket, it's outdated and can be big hurdle in the development of the team for limited over formats. Winning is not everything. Sarfraz's clean sweep against WI in ODIs was much more convincing. Malik and Hafeez were more dominant and convincing with their approach in their batting than our stalwarts and legends of tests.
