Very few sports journalists in Pakistan dare not to sugar-coat their thoughts and go unfiltered about their views and Rizwan Haider is one of them.

Rizwan traveled to the USA and the Caribbean to cover the whole event despite Pakistan getting knocked out in the first round. He observed the team environment closely and was able to do some factual reporting.

In the latest episode of PakPassion exclusive interviews, Mohammad Aizaz talks to a prominent journalist, Rizwan Haider, about all the stakeholders of Pakistan and he doesn't hold back one bit. He talked about the disastrous T20 World Cup campaign, politics in cricket, grouping in the team, Mohsin Naqvi as Chairman, and the hosting of Champions Trophy 2025.

Some of the key highlights of this interview are:

Strike Rate Issue:
Discusses that the entire batting order struggles with a low strike rate, limiting their ability to compete with top teams.

Leadership Instability: Discusses that frequent changes in PCB leadership lead to a lack of strategic continuity.

Team Unity: Insights are provided into the reports about the lack of unity between players resulting in deeper issues within team dynamics.

Champions Trophy Concerns: Talks about the uncertainty surrounding India's participation in the upcoming Champions Trophy reflect ongoing political tensions, complicated logistics, and fan expectations.

Need for Skill Development: Emphasized that enhancing domestic competitions could produce better-prepared athletes for the national team and much more.

Lol it took a Rizwan to tear apart another Rizwan 🤣🤣.

He is right. Pakistan should come out of this friendship culture and look beyond this dosti yaari group. Country comes first and for that, if you have to sacrifice your gang, you should.

Babar, rizwan, and Shadab group should be neutralized for the sake of the team. Infighting should stop now.

Shadab should have been dropped 2 years ago, how this guy keeps playing is just pathetic. Abrar did not even get a single game due to this dosti yaari group!

Yeah. It was so unfortunate for Abrar that he was sacrificed for a friendship gang. Hope PCB looks into these matters seriously.

He has talked about the facts, but my concern is whether the PCB is concerned about these issues that people are talking about. For quite some time now, we have been discussing Pakistan's lack of ability to play modern-day cricket, and still, we have not molded our system to produce players who can play modern-day cricket and adapt to situations accordingly.

“chewing gum ki tarha chipka rehta hai crease pe”

That must have been a tough interview for those who have defended Rizwan over the past 4 years

Lol... isn't he an anchor for team what else to expect then

Love this interview - he’s not holding back. More like this please than repeating the usual “Babar is important to us”

Spent time listening to this guy ranting and stating the obvious! Does this pass as Sports Journalism in Pakistan?
