In this exclusive interview, Ahsan Tahir, the founder and CEO of Walee Technologies and owner of the PSL's RawalPindiZ franchise, shares his vision for the newly rebranded team, the philosophy behind his leadership decisions, and a brutally honest assessment of the league's current challenges.

Key revelations include:

Value system over individual stats: "I'm not after how a person performs individually. I'm after that environment in the dressing room." Why Rizwan was the only choice for captain. Tahir emphasized that Rizwan’s ability to foster a selfless team culture outweighed any personal batting milestones, making him the natural anchor for the franchise’s soul.

The Rs245 crore question: "Cricket is not less than a religion for South Asia." Justifying the record-breaking investment and renaming of the franchise. He argued that the massive price tag reflects the untapped commercial potential of a sport that commands unparalleled emotional loyalty across the region.

Naseem Shah controversy: "It's a very slippery slope once players get involved in political commentary." The franchise's stance on the penalty. While acknowledging the player's right to an opinion, Tahir maintained that strict disciplinary measures were necessary to protect the team’s neutral and inclusive brand identity.

Empty stadium crisis:
"No six or four or wicket carries any meaning without the fans in the stands." Why crowds may not return this season. He candidly noted that unless logistical hurdles and ticket pricing are addressed immediately, the "soul" of the game will remain absent from the bleachers.

Behind the scenes with Rashid Latif: "He's obsessed with finding, scouting and developing players." The 12-month talent pipeline plan. The strategy involves Latif leading a year-round operation to identify raw talent in remote areas, ensuring the franchise isn't just buying stars, but building them.

Rivalry warning: "If anybody pokes a finger at one of my friends, I would skin that person alive." The team's fierce protectiveness
* This aggressive stance signals a "siege mentality" designed to build an unbreakable bond of loyalty among the players against external criticism.

Team culture philosophy: "We will be very gracious in our losses and very humble in our wins." Tahir wants the RawalPindiZ to be defined by a sense of "dignified sportsmanship" that commands respect regardless of the scoreboard.

Courtney Walsh appointment: Why the West Indies legend was brought in to develop RawalPindiZ's next generation of pacers. By bringing in Walsh, the franchise aims to blend raw local speed with the tactical discipline and legendary craft that only a 500-wicket vete
ran can provide.

I hope he reconsiders their decision next time because this time, they are done and dusted in psl.

Next time they should go for better.

Very poor squad and some weird choices, it seems like common sense is missing in evert aspect when it comes to Pak cricket/ PSL.
