The Pakistan cricket team is in disarray following their dismal T20 World Cup performance, where they were knocked out in the group stage. Rumors of infighting, questions about Babar Azam's captaincy, and concerns over Pakistan's approach to the game have surfaced.

The need for change in the coaching approach of Pakistan’s cricket team is crucial for their success. Everybody is saying that Babar should not have taken up the captaincy role again, not sure why babar won't resign and focus on his batting. All the drama in this team should end now.
 
The major fact pointed out by Atiq is that there are 17 official staff members. For a cricket team, having 17 officials is excessive, and yet, the team still lacks discipline, fitness, and skills.

Obviously they had other goals in mind besides cricket. No wonder Gary Kirsten may forsake this side before time.

used to happen with Hockey too, we had more management going for tours than actual players, and the players also looked skinny and malnutrition. Difference is we have enough money in cricket thats why the whole team is unfit and fat and includes Bobsy skinny fat king

Reading and seeing all this is another confirmation why I am done with these tourists.
 
Player power is not unique to Pakistan - India got rid of Kumble & Australia got rid of Langer due to player revolts. And obviously their inputs matter in the coach selection. But yes if there is a perpetual conflict between players & coaching staff with a result of multiple coach turnovers, then there is an issue.
 
PCB has no choice but to back Gary Kirsten and Gillespie. These two are perhaps the most high profile appointments the PCB has made since Mickey Arthur. Anyone else will think twice about accepting the Pakistani gig if they are sacked unceremoniously.

Babar has learned form his insecure seniors about protecting their place in the national team at all costs Misbah, Shoaib Malik, Shahid Afridi, Sarfaraz at the end of his captaincy, they all were guilty of same. I know we have hardcore Misbah and Shoaib malik delusional fan boys lovers here but these are the facts. Whoever is their defender go through their matches and analyze how they protected themselves
 
PCB fears the players.

Too much power to mediocre players is a recipe for disaster.

completetly different situation, Pat Cummins was trying to make sure he has no rivals in the team and tried to keep his position secure. Same with Virat Kohli. They had differences in approach. While our players are just dishonest

ik indeed these are cultivated by the seniors from the past, the most ugliest of these happened between 2007 to 2016 when Inzi's vacancy and MYKs backing away from captaincy... Misbah vs Afridi was the ugliest of all , Afridi wrongly removed for losing 2011 CWC to India in Mohali.. just after the spot fixing fiasco he was able to galvanize the team to put up a strong show in the CWC which was then taken away by the mohali villain Misbah who then brought his own men like Azhar ali and till 2015 WC he wasnt able to build one... He waited and waited for his buddies Azhar and Asad shafiq to shine then eventually throwing them away and played a relatively young middle order in Haris Sohail, Maqsood ..... then Maqsood was removed for 2015 poor show... this is how Pak build teams... Babar learnt all this from his seniors and making them proud of carrying their legacy..

Just remove them all, team can be built with younger players and under a new captain...
Anyways with these mediocre senior bunch , they are losing left . right and centre to associate teams...

As Wasim bhai said, throw the players and keep the coaches... Gary and Gillespie are the right men they can win tournaments without these so called mediocre senior bunch who are just there with their shabby fitness and skills... Just remove them all and show them that they are not needed anymore for their poor performances.

yup spot on, and yes Afridi did galvanize the team after the spot fixing fiasco and we had some good moments but the PCB is to blame for how we make players into selfish insecure brats. Afridi also as captain started bowling the easy overs in the middle to get through his spell quickly. And also used to bat at 8 or 9 so the responsibility wouldn't fall on him. The conspiracy against Younis Khan because he demanded these spoiled players to be more professional with fitness and play in batting positions demanded off them. Misbah did same always batted at 6 as a senior player although he was consistent with the bat at the time. Sarfaraz also when he started out was a good captain but by the end started batting below Hasan ali and Wahab riaz even and kept gaining weight. Babar with all the support he has had and the marketing gimmickry's behind him has been one of the worst

yes indeed , Babar continued to play the bits and pieces in the form of Asif ali , Ifthikar Ahmed , Danish Aziz , khusdhil shah, Shadab Khan, Nawaz, Rizwan , Imad Wasim are his go to middle order pool of players... I still rmb the match where Fakhar was fighting alone against SA to win the match chasing 340+ , he scored 190+ the batsman who came after Babar were Rizwan, Danish Aziz, Asif Ali, Shadan Khan and Faheem Ashraf... He is such a crooked captain mastered the legacy of making sure no actual batsman walks in after his wicket... He along with Misbah benched Haider ALI and batted him at no.5 and 6 and until he become a slogger... Abdullah Shafiq was in the squad for every series but never given a game until Imam ul Haq performs really poorly and alarmingly have to then replace him as an opener in the all important CWC and that guy owned it really well , become the best batsman for Pakistan...

Abdullah Shafique is only one bad series from getting dropped and getting Imam back again as long as Babar has his way. and if we go by our history of comebacks Babar will have his way for while
 
Babar and Rizwan are only good when you are playing for a total of 150 in T20 cricket which is not good enough against the top teams in this era.
 
Player power should be destroyed now for losing to a club level team like USA.

You can sugar coat it all you want, but US had a NRR of -4 in the Super 8s.

And we got thrashed by them.

All the eleven should actually be temporarily banned from playing cricket.

The point of sports is to win, these morons keep losing every other game, then talk about player power? lol
 
I don't think there will be any player power left in Pak cricket after that debacle , players are left in no position to demand even their spot in the playing XI and that includes our star players like Babar , Rizwan and Shaheen.
 
In Pakistan cricket, after 2003 WC players like Shahid Afridi, Malik, Younis Khan & Hafeez had enjoyed player power the most. Now in last 5-6 years player power has shifted to Babar, Rizwan & Shaheen. That's why players like Imam, Iftikhar, Nawaz, Haris Rauf, Shadab have got repeated chances despite so many failures. Players like Agha Salman, Saud Shakeel, Wasim Jnr, M. Haris and some others were tried occassionally but never got consistent opportunities at their natural positions
 
We tried so many players in the past 4 years and unfortunately none of them clicked , it means our cricket quality has declined substantially in the last decade.

Well the list tried was as such ifthikar ahmed , asif ali, danish aziz, khusdil shah, shadab khan , faheem ashraf , imad wasim

Abdullah Shafiq and Saud Shakeel the proper batsmen already making their name for themselves... Babar wants to live his king life all alone and not anyone should come closer to his throne... Such a selfish giant.....
 
Two Sports Reporters in their Vlog citing their sources inside the PCB are reporting that Kirsten has submitted his report directly to the PCB chairman via email and they are reporting the following revelations

- He is stating a clear no to reinstating Babar as captain any further

- Neither of Babar, Rizwan, Shaheen, Shadab should be considered for captaincy going forward. The PCB needs to find a captain outside this clique and possible candidates include Shan Masood, Fakhar Zaman e.t.c.

- He is blaming the selection committee for selecting too many out of form players i.e. Shadab, Iftikhar in the squad

- Zero compromise on Fitness going forward. Players not willing to follow the coaching staff instructions and recommendations to improve their games need to be discarded.

- He wants a solid say in team selection and team strategies going forward and if his demands are not met and if the PCB succumbs to player power, he will reconsider his involvement with Pakistan Cricket.

We are not selecting the right players. This is bound to happen if they pick players based on favoritism not on their skills.

If this is really true, then I am happy with all these findings. The name should be spread across the whole squad. ALl of them are equally responsible. This player power and dosti yaari culture should be over now.
 
Player power has always been an issue except in the days of Imran as captain when he was the ONLY player with power :)

Yeah I don’t think you truly believe all the XI should be truly banned.
 
The title says it all. Even after loosing to Afghanistan, Ireland and US same crop of players keep getting selected again and again. Coaches & selectors are used as scapegoats but no those actual culprits. PCB bosses seem to be powerless to get rid of non-performing players.

Its a matter of serious concern that it also creating grouping among team and desired players not getting selected to accommodate nepotism/favoritism.

It's not player power it's the upcoming players are extremely crap issue resulting in failed players still in the team. PCB is afraid to get further more humiliation and this is said by Naqvi himself yesterday. He don't want to bring another bad player in the team without champions cup to see where we stands.
 
Actually they can also remove Naqvi as well. No wonder this guy is too scare to drop any player. This is the big difference between BCCI, ECB, ACB with PCB
