So the US FAA (Federal Aviation Authority) issued a NOTAM today notifying US carriers that were banned from using the Iranian / Persian Gulf airspace due to the current political situation.

Whilst this directly affects only United and Delta’s flights to India - many European carriers are also following suit and avoiding that area.

What is interesting is the amount of air traffic has increased significantly through Pakistan’s airspace. Many carriers had been reluctant to use PAkistan airspace after its close from February to July but now it seems like they have no choice - particularly for flights to India and Southeast Asia.

Good opportunity for the CAA to make some extra money! :)
