Fakhar Zaman amongst the top 3 most searched persons on Google from Pakistan in 2017

Indian captain Virat Kohli is the number 1 batsman in One Day International cricket and in Twenty 20 format of the game. He is at number 2 in Tests — the game’s oldest format. Following his records in the game, Virat Kohli’s followers grew by 61 percent on Twitter (as of December 4). The cricketer is ending the year with 20.8 million followers, as against 12.9 million last year.

But what’s more interesting is that Virat is not just popular in India. His following in neighbouring Pakistan is amazingly superb.

According to Google Trends, Virat Kohli was searched more than the present lot of cricketers in Pakistan cricket team.

According to the search results, Indian captain beat Pakistan’s captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, pacer Mohammad Amir and batsman Ahmed Sehzad.

From December 18, 2016 to December 9, 2017, Pakistanis searched about Virat Kohli more than their captain and several other key players in Pakistan team.

These stats are always fascinating. It’s amazing how much information google has on a person or a country - they probably know more about us than even the government do through things like census data.
