Fakhar Zaman not retained by Lahore Qalandars for PSL 9 (similar to PSL 8)

He will need a better season than last time for sure.
 
Isb should romp him in.

Good for domestic t20
 
I hope Fakhar stops thinking about his game except for one thing - short pitch bowling.

Otherwise the less he thinks, the better he will be as a natural strokemaker. Too many voices in his ear have messed with him. Technique isn't his thing anyway. It's instinct. Go with it. He isn't going to average 50 anyways.
 
I'm predicting that MS will go for Fakhar to add some explosiveness at the top of the order.
 
Could be a good addition at Karachi Kings. Sharjeel/Zaman will be a pretty decent opening pair.
 
I hope he goes to a team with a good batting coach so he can finally sort out his technical issues. Andy flower could work wonders with him
 
He wants to win a championship and you can't do that with Lq :poodle

FA is good for loner version , has no power game, not made for T20.

Don't think it was mutual because they made no announcement on Twitter. Even if it was one-sided, they could've at least wished him well.

Quetta, Multan, Islamabad - all three will be interested.
 
Had the most runs, most 50s and played most matches for LQ.

Smart from Fakhar Zaman, even Shaheen should follow Zaman and leave Lahore Javeds. Their coaching staff is an assembly of random names just to warm up the vacant seats in the dugout.

Franchise teams across the globe hire the best support/coaching staff for their players but not Lahore Javeds, they have a super man in the form of AJ and others just to stand behind the Supreme guy and do only what the Supreme asks them to do.

The biggest issue with Lahore Javeds is, that they fail to learn and continue doing what they always do.

No coach can change a player at the national level. Habits and game are developed when young. He got a ticket to the team after Sharjeel shot himself in the foot. Fact is he’s never been good enough to compete with the best in the world. One or two lucky innings is what he’s been riding on.

What rubbish. Fakhar is the best limited overs opener Pakistan has had in a very long time. Yes there has been a recent dip in form but that does not take away from the fact that he has been consistently performing for Pakistan. Name one other opener since Anwar who could have singlehandedly won us a ICC trophy in the way Fakhar won us the Champions Trophy. That's right - nobody other than Fakhar Zaman was capable of that. And he did plenty after that too.

If you want to throw people under the bus, throw those who have done nothing but take Pakistani cricket backwards - the Shan Masoods of this world. Do not however throw players under the bus who have actually done things to make us all proud and achieved great things for Pakistan.
 
Played well in the latter stages
Always felt his previous career takes priority over his cricket career where he could have also have flourished
Compared to the likes of Sharjeel khan and ahmed shahzad who were never professionals to begin with

I'd be surprised if they don't try to re-sign him in the draft. Silly decision if they don't.

LAHORE: Defending champions Lahore Qalandars did not retain batter Fakhar Zaman for the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

All PSL teams announced their retentions for the upcoming edition of the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) marquee event.

However, Fakhar's name was not on the list of players retained by Qalandars. This is the second time in a row the Qalandars didn't retain the aggressive batter.

Fakhar likes to be this punching bag just like Abdul Razzaq was in his playing career.

Why don’t they do the same to Rauf or Shaheen? I would personally like Fakhar to move to KK and InshaAllah open with Sharjeel

Dream pair, lol. So i guess you would feel like in heaven if Asif Ali also moves to KK, made captain and comes one down after Fakhar & Sharjeel.
 
Difficult to Fakher playing with the likes of Imad, Amir, Sharjeel and Malik. Hopefully, Islu or PZ pick him up.

He is injured and may not be fit for the PSL. The knee injury that he aggravated, he could be out for 6 months at least

The first pick of our PSL 8 in the Platinum round was with the defending champions Lahore Qalandars who added Fakhar Zaman to their squad!

Why don’t they make Shaheen or Rauf play these musical chairs unlike Fakhar all the time?

Fakhar is the Abdul Razzaq of our time. A guy that will continue to be misused just because he is a quiet, nice person who doesn’t say anything

Shaheen is captain highly doubt they will play Musical Chairs with thier captain.

I think teams need to move on from him he’s quite frankly past it and finished need to invest in new blood there tonnes of openers ready to take his spot

Fakhar is possibly the best hitter from Pakistan right now.
 
QG or MS should look to sign him. Should certainly be one of the first picks.

Lahore should have retained Fakhar. I think he might be going to Multan or Islamabad now.
 
His performance in the national T20 cup was also ordinary, so I think it's a wise decision from Lahore Qalandars not to stick with him.
 
what is his category? and which team has first pick to his category?
 
Saw an interview with Sameen Rana saying that FZ will always be a Qalandar so guess this is the same strategy as before.
 
And back to Lahore he goes!

Lahore had the 6th pick and incredibly no one picked Fakhar up before that.
 
A wise move by Lahore to pick Fakhar but I don't know why they were reluctant to select him earlier.

His way of play is unreliable. But when it comes good, he will look like a million bucks.
