What are some of your fave slang words used in Pakistan:))

My top would be:

1) lush = awesome
2) maila :uakmal
3) Dheela aadmi :fawad
4) Phainta :ik
5) Scene onn haii :yk
6) Mummy daddy bacha :shan

I wonder if we can start an Urdu kahaawat (proverbs and quotations) thread!
 
I am loving the use of "powdery" thesedays to imply said person's cognitive abilities are impaired due to them sniffing 'powder'.

these are mainly use in karachi, in other part of the country peoples look to your face as they fail to understand your slang

Mummy daddy bacha is famous in almost every city of pakistan most of the people in rawalpindi use this for kids living in the twin city islamabad

What are the origins of the words, 'kaddu' and 'ponka'

Kaddu especially. I know what it means by default now cuz whenever I say sth ridiculous or unrealistic mmy friends used to say 'kaddu' especially around middle school haha.

Kaddu like the vegetable. Ponka is derived from the punjabi for barking.

Phat Gaye has the exact same meaning as ''sh*tting your pants'' and, as such, I tend to avoid it.

still doesn't explain the connotation if its just a vegetable.

Eg:

'Kal class attend karogay?'
'Kaddu!' :)))

Its understood it means No but why lol?

My uncle who is with us in US right now uses the word Kaddu for everything. I am so tired of it.

Aunty - Khana khane ke baad walk pe chaloongi.
Uncle - Haan! Haan! Kaddu Chalegi

Me - Uncle the kid will do homework after taking bath.
Uncle - Kaddu Karega!

I don't know if you are joking or not. Kaddu just means when in punjabi.

I am sure you are talking about the kaddu which means "when" in Punjabi.

Yes this is the context I meant it in/

when someone finds a suggestion ridiculous they would say 'Kaddu jaoon ga' or sth of that sort

Bonga(Not sure if there is such word in Urdu but in Pothwari its pretty common)

bonga just seems too crass.

'Chawal' reminds me of a good friend from back in the day. His every 3rd sentence included the phrase, 'chawal insaan' :))
 
The other day one of the guys in the cricket team called another team mate a 'Pant Ki Dukaan'

The delivery was subliminal.
 
Came across this in a heated argument between 2 of my seniors from high school:

karwi nasal ke badshakal aadmi :))

Love the innovation and creativity!

Ghanta!!

very similar connotation to Kaddu :yk

Hahaha alaad diii was a huge one from childhood, probably top on the list for me.

Kahani khatam paisa hazam, more of a saying than slang I guess

Gore ki aulaad if someone used too much English.

Either will do, it depends on whether the chawwal in question is a major or minor transgression.

The progenitor of this phrase is Mehmood Akhtar's character in the PTV serial Hawaaein, circa 1995. He plays a corrupt Pir in that show, and the phrase became so popular that everyone adopted it: from truckers to grandmas.
 
I need some help from language experts. Are the following expressions in Urdu or Punjabi. Can't seem to figure it out :
