He is under the proverbial pump but we know he will fight to the end - HUGE test for Imran - if he comes through this No Confidence circus, he will be much stronger than before (and hopefully) would have learnt some lessons as well.

Go on Immy!

Prime Minister Imran Khan asserted on Wednesday that he will not resign at any cost, saying he will show his cards a day ahead of the no-confidence motion.

In a meeting with the reporters of the Supreme Court, the prime minister said it would be someone’s delusion that he would resign and go home. “Should I resign on the demand of thieves,” the premier said while referring to the opposition leaders’ no-trust vote against him.

“I am predicting that we will win the match of the no-confidence motion,” he said, adding that "people [allies] get unhappy with ruling parties often".

In a comment about the opposition’s move against him, the premier said the opposition jumped the gun by showing its card. He added that the opposition doesn’t even know how many people it will have left on the day of the no-trust move.

Speaking about his ‘animals are neutral’ remarks, the premier said his remarks were taken out of context. He added that he alluded to neutrality in the context of good and evil. The premier said JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman was the ‘12th player’ and the time to send him packing had come.

"The PPP and PML-N’s politics revolved around concealing their theft," the premier said, adding that PPP’s Asif Ali Zardari’s "ideology is money". “Why would I sit with big criminals like Shehbaz Sharif,” he added.

Talking about the Pakistan Army, he said the army was wrongly criticised. A strong army is a prerequisite for a strong country, he said, adding that Pakistan would have been split into three pieces had it not been for the army. “The army should not be maligned for the sake of politics,” he added.

'Voting on March 30-April 1'

Speaking to the media, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said the prime minister has “a lot of cards” to defeat the no-confidence motion.

Rashid said the session of the National Assembly will be prorogued on the first day on account of the death of a lawmaker.

The minister added that the vote on the no-confidence motion could be held between March 30 and April 1. He added that the March 27 rally of the PTI will prove how many people stand with the premier. The prime minister hoped that the allies will stand with the PTI government.

First ever pm of pakistan to lose the confidence of people.

This is politics, not cricket.

The no confidence isnt some circus, it is part of the constitution of many major countries and likewise Pakistans.

Not sure what your point is. Do you think he should resign and play cricket instead?

Maybe you should read the thread title and get an idea of the cornered tiger refrence used in 1992

Yes I got it, point is in politics even if you have a vote of no confidence, you can still fight your corner rather than surrender. If the people of Pakistan want him out then that time will come and we will see the return of the plunderers. But that is what democracy is about.

Anyways, Imran must have learned a lesson by now, do not go for electables

If he is to come out of this mess, he would need to learn to given tickets to new people, people who he can trust are not corrupt or part of the soo called mafia.

He needs to bring in a new team now, he cant go on with the likes of Zulfi Bukhari, Faisal Vawda, Firdous Ashiq, Ghulam Sarwar, and Amir Liaqut. Infact, Ghulam Sarwar goes around issuing threats to journalist and people who disagree with him.

If by the next general election, the team is made up of same people, than Imran is gonna get more embarrasment. If he is as popular as his supporters claim, than he shouldn't be relying on electable and be able to get a majority with new faces.

As a sportsman he can take loss. Change the team and take a stand against the army, I would on that day happily support him.

His biggest mistake was giving Bajwa an extention

If Bajwa wants extension again and IK does not give then you know they are still holding a decision of foreign funding case.
At this time in all the speeches IK is not fighting with opposition those messages are just for establishment.

he is never gonna take on the establishment. Its funny because the establishment may have done him more damage than good.

He sided with them, he gave Bajwa an extension, and now he is paying for it.

Come out in public accept the mistake he made by changing the constitution and giving him an extension and stand against them.

But you are right, foreign funding case is a card that could be used to keep PTI on a leash.

We should ignore IK haters, as they have no alternate solution, just emotive rhetoric.

Though saying this, Anti IK supporters are looking forward to brown envelopes and tax evasion.

Don’t feed the cannon fodder for they are food themselves.

:)

Most of them openly admit they don't want to be in Pakistan, would be better hearing the views of those who are actually invested in the country, IK supporters or not. Mamoon and Major are only living there because they have no choice.

Cricket or Politics, with Pakistan, there is always a collapse around the corner. It always keeps the spectators entertained.

This t-shirt is part of Pakistan legend! I still remember the day I watching this interview live, Pakistan werent looking good for World Cup win. My fathers friends used to turn up to watch every Pakistan match, through out the night, as many didnt have Sky Tv at the time. Everyone thought Pak were out. After the 74 all out, Imran Khan told his team Pakistan will win the world cup! The was laughter and even someone calling him senile due to him being 40ish.

I believed Pakistan would win, perhaps because I was a child.

Do not understimate Imran Khan, he can pull out an unplayable delivery even on a flat track.

If Imran is no longer Prime Minister, he can be proud of giving the country some self respect and pride around the world. He's tried his best, Pakistan will be the loser when he is no longer around.

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday claimed that he still had a “trump card” or two up his sleeve that he would play a day before the opposition’s no-confidence motion. This, he boasted, will prove to be the game changer.

“I am predicting that we will win the match of the no-confidence motion,” he told reporters of the Supreme Court, a couple of days before deliberations are slated to begin on the no-trust move against him in a session of the lower house of parliament.

The prime minister was looking very confident and relaxed.

He was accompanied by Attorney General for Pakistan Khalid Jawed Khan, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry, and Adviser to PM on Parliamentary Affairs Dr Babar Awan.

The informal chat with reporters reflects that PM does not want confrontation with the security establishment.

The PM made it clear that there is no chance to make army controversial.

He simply laughed off a delicate question on an important appointment due in the month of November.

The PM was full of exuberance when he said that the PTI graph had jumped after “this no-confidence motion”. He ruled out the possibility of him resigning before the vote.

The prime minister also made it clear that he would not sit quietly in case the noconfidence move succeeds.

He also hinted that he would intensify campaign against corruption.

Despite members of the ruling party and its allies increasingly hinting that they would back the opposition, the premier maintained that he would turn the tables on the day of the no-trust move.

“The opposition parties have already shown all their cards … they are in for a major surprise,” he claimed, adding that they were even unaware of how many people would be on their side when the time for voting comes.

“They [opposition parties] will be shocked by the loss of voters on their side.”

The premier asserted that he would not resign at any cost. “It must be someone’s delusion that I would resign and go home. Should I resign on the demand of thieves?” he questioned rhetorically, while referring to the opposition parties.

The prime minister disclosed that he had met estranged PML-N leader Chaudhry Nisar, saying that they both had an association that went back 40 years.

Speaking about his “animals are neutral” remarks during a recent speech, the premier said his comments were taken out of context.

He added that he had alluded to neutrality in the context of good and evil.

Read Opposition to move IHC for smooth voting on no-trust motion

The premier maintained that JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman was the “12th player” and the time to send him packing had come.

“The PPP and PML-N’s politics revolved around concealing their theft,” the premier claimed. “[PPP Co-Chairperson] Asif Ali Zardari’s ideology is money. Why would I sit with major criminals like Shehbaz Sharif?”

He further said the Pakistan Army was wrongly criticised. “A strong army is a prerequisite for a strong country,” he said, adding that the country would have been split into three pieces had it not been for its military.

“The army should not be maligned for the sake of politics.”

Speaking to the media, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said the prime minister had “a lot of cards” to defeat the no-confidence motion.

The minister added that the National Assembly session would be prorogued on the first day on account of the death of a lawmaker.

Rashid further said the vote on the no-confidence motion could be held between March 30 and April 1.

“The PTI’s March 27 rally will prove how many people stand with the premier.”

On March 8, the united opposition front had filed a requisition for a no-confidence motion against PM Imran, pinning its hopes for its success on the estranged members of the ruling party and its allies.

For making the no-trust motion successful, the opposition needs to have the support of at least 172 of the total 342 members in the lower house of parliament to show a simple majority -- leading to the choosing of a new prime minister.

Political analysts conjectured that the opposition could bag the support of 10 lawmakers or more from the ruling party or any of the allies as they had been in touch with it for quite some time now.

One lawmaker said PTI members were in touch with the opposition since it had defeated the government for the capital’s seat in the Senate elections, forcing Prime Minister Imran Khan to take a vote of confidence at that time.

Opposition lawmakers shared that the PML-N had bagged the support of 16 PTI members in exchange for giving them its party tickets in the next elections.

Similarly, the PPP has managed to win over four MNAs, while the JUI-F had received assurance of support from three MNAs, bringing the total to 23 – just one more than what PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had earlier claimed and way more than the required number of lawmakers needed to show a simple majority in the House.

Two main allies of the government, the PML-Q and MQM-P, who believed that they were on the driving seat, have all of sudden felt that senior PTI leader Aleem Khan joining the estranged Jahangir Khan Tareen group had weakened their position.

A day earlier, MQM-P Convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui had said the party “greatly valued” the opinion of the opposition alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and would decide its stance on the noconfidence motion against the government taking heed of its advice.

The PML-Q leadership, its president Chaudhry Shujaat and his cousin Punjab Assembly Speaker Parvez Elahi, have left for Lahore after seeking the slot of the Punjab chief minister from both the government and opposition.

The worst PM in Pakistan’s history. Much like his supporters, he thought politics is like a cricket match and running the country would be like captaining a cricket team.

That’s why his vocabulary and analogies have been limited to cricket and it has spilled over to his fans as well, this thread is just one example.

He has lost the faith of the masses. The common man is cursing him on a daily basis because he has destroyed the economy and made the country unlivable for the underprivileged.

He failed to fulfill even a single promise and he promised a lot. He realized, the hard way, that shouting from the top of containers and making tall claims is the easiest part but converting talk into action when you have the opportunity is the real challenge and he failed with flying colors.

Don’t be fooled by his rallies. He has a cult-following and this cult will support him no matter what he does or says. They have been brainwashed and have lost the ability to think.

Imran can tell them that the earth is flat and they will believe him.

Most of the hardcore supporters are residing outside Pakistan. They pretend that they love Pakistan and care about the country but if you ask them to return to Pakistan and serve the country, they make a billion excuses.

They love Imran Khan but they love their western passports more, so they are not interesting in returning to Pakistan and live in the Naya Pakistan that Imran built.

Speaking of Naya Pakistan and the anti-corruption rhetoric that has been used as a distraction throughout PTI’s flop reign, Imran himself is the biggest beneficiary of corruption.

Ever since his retirement in 1992, he has been living off the black money of his financiers. He is a freeloader.

His entire campaign was funded by the mafias who invested in him to profit later on. Jahangir Tareen was his chief financier, and if Imran had any morality and sense of justice, he would have resigned as PM after Jahangir Tareen’s corruption was exposed.

He has also been running away from the foreign funding case for years and PTI has demanded secrecy in investigations because they know that there are skeletons in the closet.

His supporters claim that he improved Pakistan’s image globally but that couldn’t be further from the truth. He openly supported and defended a terrorist regime in Afghanistan and once again reinforced the image that Pakistan is a support of right-wing ideology and intolerance.

He has tried to use Kashmir as a distraction but the world does not take him seriously because he has refused to criticize China over its treatment of Uyghurs Muslims.

Local media isn’t allowed to talk about it but whenever a foreign journalist has questioned him, he has started sweating and given confused and unconvincing answers.

Whether Imran goes now, next year or few years later depends on his employers (the military establishment). However, we shouldn’t worry about it because in the long run, PTI will be history.

It is a fake party with no roots - there is no succession plan and once Imran is gone, PTI will disintegrate. These corrupt and opportunist politicians who jumped on the PTI bandwagon for personal interests will either be absorbed by their previous parties or will form their own parties.

No one will remember PTI in the long run - it will be remembered as a party that made a lot of noise for 10-15 years but achieved nothing.

PPP and PMLN are proper parties with deep roots - the Bhutto and Nawaz names will carry its legacy forever.

And in that one sentence, you have described the reason why Pakistan will never progress further.

Recent jalsas of PTI in Mandi Bahuddin, Hafizabad and Swat has shown what I have been saying all along, Imran Khan is by far the most popular leader in Pakistan. His anti-Western stance has struck a chord among common Pakistanis. They are willing to endure high inflation as long as they have a leader who takes on corrupt mafia and represents Pakistan with dignity at international forums.

Corrupt and incompetent opposition leaders have no future. They, put together, cannot even fill up a chowk. Maryam, Billo and Fazlu have become a meme among common populace. They are only left with old tricks like inhouse change which probably won't work. But even if they manage to remove IK now (seems highly unlikely), he will come back stronger in next elections.

I am planning on attending 27th march jalsa which I believe will be the biggest political gathering in Pakistan's history ! As long as IK is alive, there is hope.

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday invited the nation to participate in the PTI's March 27 power show at Islamabad's Parade Ground, calling on the people to join him in "standing against evil".

In the recorded message, the prime minister began by quoting a verse from the Holy Quran. He noted that Muslims had been told to "stand with good and against evil".

"Brazenly, in front of everyone, a gang of thieves has been looting the country for the past 30 years, indulging in corruption and sending money abroad."

He said that this "gang" had united and put a price on the "conscience" of public representatives, adding that these public representatives "were being bought".

"I want the entire nation to join me on March 27 to send one message: that we are not with evil, we are against it. That we are against the crime being committed against democracy and the nation, where the conscience of public representatives is being bought with looted money."

The whole country should know that no one can participate in horse-trading from now on in an effort to damage Pakistan and democracy, he said.

The premier's message comes as the government is facing a no-confidence motion moved by the opposition. National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser has summoned the session of the lower house to deliberate on the opposition's no-confidence resolution against PM Imran on March 25 (tomorrow) at 11am.

On Wednesday, the prime minister was informed that the party's allies had decided to side with the opposition, causing the ruling PTI to gear up efforts to appease its annoyed coalition partners.

A government source told Dawn that PM Imran was apprised in the PTI’s Political Committee meeting that their allies had decided to join the opposition camp and vote against him on the no-trust motion.

On this, the premier dispatched senior PTI leaders to meet the heads of allied parties and assure them that their reservations would be addressed. He hoped the allies would return to the government and support him in the National Assembly on the voting day.

When contacted, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry claimed the next 48 hours were “quite crucial” when the political ambiguity would be cleared. He hoped that allies will not leave the prime minister’s side in this hour of need.

Confident PM says ‘will have last laugh'
Meanwhile, a confident PM Imran predicted he would prevail over the opposition’s no-confidence move and definitely would have the last laugh, announcing that he still held a "trump card" that would be revealed at the right time.

“Let me predict in clear terms that we will succeed in the no-confidence motion because the entire party and our workers are standing with us like a rock and even the debate raging on the menace of corruption and horse-trading has become a topic of household discussion,” the premier said while talking to a group of reporters at his office at the picturesque Prime Minister House on Wednesday.

Why PPP chairperson and then prime minister Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, despite having at least 33 per cent vote bank in national politics, was removed in 1996, he questioned before asserting that it was because the “people were not with her” at that crucial time.

With the PTI, however, it was an altogether different story, as its workers firmly stood with their leaders. Rather, more and more people were joining the party ranks, the premier said, adding that no ‘political animal’ could withstand such public opinion.

Attired in a traditional white shalwar suit with red rosary in his right hand, the premier recalled how the 1992 Pakistani cricket team, despite being the weakest, managed to clinch the world cup just because its captain was confident about victory from the very beginning. He said the opposition, under intense pressure, had exposed all their cards ahead of time, but nobody was aware what the government had in store for them.

The prime minister acknowledged that ruling party lawmakers were “openly being lured in” or “threatened” to desert the PTI-led government, but without elaborating upon his ‘trump card’, he said he had many options that would be made public a day or two before the voting.

He said the ever-rising tide of public opinion in his favour would scale up further on March 27 when the PTI government would stage the biggest-ever public rally in Islamabad. He said the government’s allies were also closely gauging the tide. He warned all lawmakers that it would be very difficult to face the public wrath, whosoever would go against the government.

You are forgetting that the general elections are always rigged by the establishment - the public vote doesn’t matter, it’s a facade.

What matters is what the common man says about him on the daily basis. You don’t live in Pakistan and you don’t have exposure to the common Pakistani man so you aren’t aware of the fact that the public has no faith in him anymore.

He will not win the election next year in terms of public vote, but he will only be disposed if he loses the backing of the military just like Nawaz did once he started to defy them with his pacifist Indian policy. Panama was just a smokescreen.

Not too long ago, the common man was saying worse about Nawaz Shariff and Zardari. Pakistanis have a short memory. He's a populist and connects with the common man. Don't be surprised if he wins a majority next time.

Also Mamoon, I may not reside in Pakistan but I was there for the previous federal elections and was even a polling agent. Insha'Allah will be there when the next one takes place to cast my vote. Have a funny feeling that ECP may decide to cancel overseas voting so better to go in person

IK will win and will win well. The mafia have made msitake by taking on the legend. Lets face it, who will support these beghairat parties? Who wants to support parties that accuse each of being corrupt and have locked each other up? Will Allah forgive AZ because he wanted to avoid his cases, Is NS no longer the child of Gen Zia? Is Diesel no longer Diesel? And JKT no longer the Cheeni chore, Is Gen Bajwa now being respected by NS and vice versa? History is unforgiving, mafia have been rumbled, they came together to topple a popular PM with horse trading. The public have come back to IK.

Those MNAs are getting public backlash from the areas they won. Guys like Raja Riaz have to constantly defend their stance and are hiding g from 'their' voters.
If they are so confident in their vote bank, why don't they resign from PTI and have another election. Let the people decide directly.

Parliament mnas are voted by the public. And mnas dont go against their vote bank.

If imran is removed it would mean he lost the publics confidence

Resign your seats, fight under any banner you want and give your vote to whoever you want. No matter who you dress it up, these guys are on the run.

And this is coming from a person who claims he is not a pakistani, yet loves to take interest in pakistani politics and cricket and is anti indian.

Chalo, we are not the common pakistani, but who are you trying to be?

Well I'm not a Pakistani, that is just fact. Neither do I take much interest in cricket, and very little the politics either, I do sometimes suggest practical solutions to Pakistanis who have several complaints about life in general.

It's not right to call me anti-Indian either, I am only against those who are anti-Pakistan as I have relatives there.

Despite his immunity in politics, IK is a significant improvement on the past and failed opposition. But clearly that does not guarantee success in the no confidence vote but if the government loses that will take the country back many years.

He is under the proverbial pump but we know he will fight to the end - HUGE test for Imran - if he comes through this No Confidence circus, he will be much stronger than before (and hopefully) would have learnt some lessons as well.

Go on Immy!

EwLqCYEWQAUrAXo

He wins or loses no confidence vote, he will emerge stronger than he ever was. Corrupt mafia can;t beat him in the long run .

When is the vote?

Not decided yet. National assembly tried to delay, but they finally placed it on tomrs agenda to discuss in parliament after which date would be decided.

Rumours are imran trying to delay it for 28 days.

Really hope Imran comes out strong. Lot of people in India want him to remain PM for next 10 years at least.
Indian media though is confidently reporting from their so called Pakistani sources that Bajwa and GHQ have already given him the boot and asked him to resign. Not sure how much truth is in that.

That seems to imply Indian media sources are indirectly connected to some Pak military figures like Bajwa. That is an interesting turn of events.

We need to move on from this cornered tigers rubbish. Every time we even mention it Pak Cricket goes back in time. Time we started making new hero's and looking the the future instead of following celebrity cult's. Countries that create great cricketers don't live in the past half as much as we do. They forget their Sachin's, Viv's and Warne's moving on to produce the next generation of awesome performers.

Describing numerous ‘achievements’ of his PTI-led government since coming into power in 2018, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday claimed that no regime in Pakistan had performed in the last 50 years as well as his government did during its three-and-a-half-year rule.

"Look at our economy, our tax collection, we have collected the highest amount of taxes in this period, we have the highest yield of the crop in country's history, we have also taken care of the farmers and have given them the correct price which had never been paid [by any previous governments]," the premier said while addressing an impressive public gathering in Khyber-Pakhtunkwa’s Mansehra district.

He claimed all the industries in the country were performing well and the Information Technology (IT) sector grew by 75 per cent. "This is the difference between a corrupt and an honest regime... Pakistan was fined Rs2000 billion in the Reko Diq case but I am proud that after three years of continuous struggle, the same company is going to invest $9 billion on the same project which would not only bring dollars into the country but will bring prosperity to Balochistan as well."

He said that Pakistan Railways has become a profitable entity for the first time in its history, adding that by doing new agreements on the gas and energy sector, the PTI government saved Rs700 billion of the country.

Coming down hard on his political opponents, the premier alleged that Rs200 to Rs250 million are being offered to buy people's conscience. "Our MNA Saleh Mohammad was offered Rs250 million by the opposition but he refused," he added.

He said that when the “money doesn't do the job, the opposition resorts to blackmailing but tough times show the real character of people”.

The prime minister said that the opposition was seeking NRO (amnesty) like the one given by former military ruler General (retd) Pervez Musharraf. "It would be the biggest treason with Pakistan the day I forgive them (opposition leaders)," he added.

He said that the no-confidence motion was tabled so that the opposition leaders could get an ‘easy escape’. "Three rats are trying to hunt me down but what they don't know is that they will be hunted down instead... I will defeat them," he added.

Calling Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif the ‘rat number one’, PM Imran said that he had even got stitched a sherwani and was dreaming of becoming prime minister.

"He (Shehbaz) was saying that he would never annoy the US... whenever he sees boots, he starts to polish them... I have nicknamed Shehbaz Sharif 'Cherry blossom' today," the premier said in reference to a popular shoe polishing brand in Pakistan.

Imran Khan said that the days of the Sharif family “looting Pakistan” were over. "Shehbaz, the sherwani which you got stitched... you should give it to someone else. Now, these people will only do their politics in England and after some time England would be seeking loans from Pakistan as it would be bankrupt," he added.

The premier invited people to come out and support the government so that the "rats" get the message that the people are with the "righteous ones".

"We will dig graves of those who looted Pakistan and destroyed its economy and once their graves are dug the naya (new) Pakistan will emerge," he added.

PM Imran further said that his government would bring a system that would be an example for the whole world and will take Pakistan to prosperity.

Interestingly, this cornered tiger tamasha started in the 1987 world cup which was imrans third world cup and we lost. He packed the shirt back in his bag and took it out again in 1992. Ironically, he wasnt suppose to play that world cup but zia requested him too.

What does that tell you about this man's sense of mission? As I told you already, he will never surrender, it's not in his DNA. That t-shirt will be packed with him in his casket when he leaves this earth while the likes of your Billo will still be asking his daddy if he's allowed ice cream after 9pm in Dubai.

Like i said before, this is politics not a cricket match. You dont get 4 chances here. Once you screw up the economy and not fulfill your promises, no one will be wanting you back.

Will he be the first ever pm of pakistan to lose the people's confidence? Only time will tell.

In a twist of events, Malik Ahmad Hussain Dehr, a lawmaker of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) who had joined other rebel MNAs of the ruling party, announced support for Prime Minister Imran Khan in the no-confidence motion on Friday.

Responding to a journalist’s question after the National Assembly (NA) session, Dehr said that he was with the government, and his concerns were being addressed. He added that he met the premier, who would solve his issues, and once matters are settled, he would support him. To another question, he made it clear that he was still with PTI.

Dehr, who had joined other dissenting lawmakers at the Sindh House, had been critical of Prime Minister Imran and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.

Responding to the government’s accusation of lawmakers indulging in horse-trading, Dehr, while speaking to the media, claimed that he had seen the premier meet dissenting provincial lawmakers of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), questioning the rationale behind the accusation now.

He also came down hard on the provincial chief executive, accusing him of corruption, saying he had to pay bribe at the CM Secretariat to get some work done. He also challenged the premier to resign if he proved corruption, adding that he would quit politics if proven wrong.

Earlier, the government had claimed that horse-trading was taking place at the Sindh House in the federal capital, and when the media went in, lawmakers of the treasury benches, voiced their grievances against the government, and announced their desire to vote according to their “conscience”.

Soon after the public disclosure of dissent, the ruling party issued notices to its lawmakers, and sought an explanation from them by March 26.

Later, in a change of heart, the government asked to them to return to the party’s fold, with Federal Minister of Interior Sheikh Rashid and Prime Minister Imran making concessionary statements while warning them of the consequences of leaving. Meanwhile, it also sought the Supreme Court’s (SC) interpretation of Article 63-A of the Constitution of Pakistan to assess whether defecting lawmakers’ votes could be valid and whether they could be disqualified for life.

Regarding the rebels, there is a chance the SC might issue a judgement that if they vote against the PM, they can do that but in exchange for being permanently barred from politics. Also, it is the speakers discretion if he wishes to accept the votes or not.

Personally if the PM survives the no confidence motion. I want him to order mass arrests of people involved in this saga who held the entire country hostage.

Pm doesnt have any such authority. This is a democracy not some movie going on.

Cjp also made things clear today with mnas being able to place vote.

Either the SC will become to the crime or part of the solution. The PPP and its thugs are using stolen local money and CIA money to buy votes. If IK wanted to he could also do but that would be wrong and criminal and he shouldn't do it. There lies the difference between a bunch of murderous crooks and IK.

Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), an ally of PTI-led ruling coalition, has decided to support joint opposition's no-trust motion filed against Prime Minister Imran Khan in National Assembly.

This was announced by opposition bigwigs — Shehbaz Sharif, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Asif Ali Zardari — at a joint press conference in Islamabad, where BAP party’s four MNAs were also present on Monday.

“We thank them [BAP lawmakers] from the bottom of our heart for supporting opposition... we value their decision and assure them of our full support,” said PML-N President Shehbaz.

He added that the government which will be formed after the “success of no-confidence motion” will address the grievances of the people of Balochistan.

Speaking on the occasion, PPP co-chairman Zardari said that Shahbaz Sharif “will soon become the prime minister” of the country. He further said that BAP has taken a decision in the “best interest” of Pakistan.

Four out of the five MNAs of BAP party have decided to support the opposition against the government, said Shehbaz.

While responding to a question, Shehbaz urged PM Imran to prove his claim that foreign elements were conspiring to topple his government.

“I challenge [Imran Khan] to show the letter to entire nation and parliament… if he proves his claim that foreign power are working against national interest then I will stand by him,” he remarked.

JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that there is still space for dialogue with the PML-Q after it announced supporting the government on the no-trust motion in the lower house of the parliament.

“Previously, PML-Q had 7 and BAP had 5 members in assembly… but now BAP has more lawmakers than PML-Q,” he added without elaborating further.

The development comes as the embattled prime minister, Imran Khan has succeeded in wooing his estranged ally PML-Q to support him on the matter of no-confidence motion tabled against him by the joint opposition in the National Assembly on Monday.

Elahi along with a dozen senior party leaders met with the prime minister at his residence in Bani Gala – after the Nation Assembly accepted a no-trust motion against the Prime Minister Imran Khan – for the final round of talks choosing a side.

Earlier in the day, the much-anticipated session of the lower house of parliament to deliberate on the no-confidence motion was adjourned till March 31 after opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif tabled the motion followed by the counting procedure to determine the number of lawmakers in favour.

More than 155 lawmakers were in favour of tabling the motion against the premier.

The opposition, which has 162 members, filed the con-confidence motion on March 8. The motion, moved by 152 opposition members, said that Prime Minister Imran had lost the confidence of the house. The ruling coalition currently has the support of 179 members of the National Assembly.

The PM just announced the Barrick Gold $10 billion investment in Balochistan. Why would Balochistan accuse the PTI Government of neglecting Balochistan then? Do politicians in Pakistan ever vote or make decisions on merit? Should the educated voter not reasonably conclude the opposition has got these votes after giving $$$$$?

Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid has said on Wednesday that Prime Minister Imran Khan will address the nation in the evening to take it into confidence in the light of the prevailing political circumstances and a no-trust vote against him.

The minister made these remarks in a brief interaction with the media as he came out of the cabinet meeting for a quick cigar break.

Earlier in the day, he addressed a ceremony to launch an e-passport facility in Islamabad alongside PM Imran.

During his address at the ceremony, Rashid claimed that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif through Saudi King Shah Abdullah put pressure on the Pakistan Army to let him go to Saudi Arabia. The minister claimed the army did not want Sharifs to go to Saudi Arabia.

“A similar drama took place in Attock and he fell ill after which the Army Medical Board reported that his health was critical and it was decided to let him go out of the country for treatment,” Rashid went on to allege.

Referring to the opposition leaders, Rashid claimed they were a product of 'Gate No 4' of the General Headquarters, and ex-ISI chief Hameed Gul used to be their "political adviser".

Rashid said he will stand by PM Imran like a rock. He added that the people were with Imran Khan even if those who allegedly took the money had parted their ways.

He added that Imran's popularity will rise further and the dissenting lawmakers will come back to him at the time of the next elections.

"These people will come back to you but they should be told to take a hike," he said while addressing the premier. "Imran Khan, however, is a forgiving person," Rashid went on to add.

Anyways, no early elections happening as you need the bumbers to caLl that aswell

Early elections will definitely happen, Apart from PPP who will oppose the move everyone else will support it including PLMN and PTI. Hold elections now PPP is bound to lose. Who would want to take over for 18 months with nothing in the coffers and no one else left to borrow from?! The will simply head for a defeat in the next elections.

Rather hold it now and look for a 5 year term. Elections will be called in time for Nawaz to book his flight to Pakistan with Bajwa's blessing. Everyone hail PM Maryam!

it doesnt work that way.

Elections cant happen because pti doesbt have the number.

Also, the whole reason of doing this vote of no confidence from a political perspective was that, in our politics, the govt releases development funds in the last year. Pti also didnt release those funds.

What the opposition will do is after getting the ministeries, they will release funds, do public service and than use that as their election campaign.

You guys are reading too much into dumb surveys with elections happening now than flana will win. Pakistani politics doesnt work like that.

The last year of the government is always crucial due to release of funds.

Pti would have to do a campaign dharna style, while ppp and pmln will only have to use the funds to do work and than use those assignments as a msrketing tool saying look we got you such facility in your area.

Bro everyone knows the opposition can never be together. They might break up tomorrow. This is not going to be any news.
Main thing is damage has been done. Whether election are held early or not. No one will make the government until they have backing of establishment. Whoever will have better deal with establishment will come to power.
So called establishment is neutral. They are not neutral, they are not just with government right now.

Imran Khan Won’t Resign, Will Play Till Last Ball: PTI Spokesperson Neelam Irshad Sheikh to News18

Pakistan PM Imran Khan will play till his last ball and won’t resign, said Neelam Irshad Sheikh, spokesperson of the ruling party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), in an exclusive conversation with CNN-News18. The comments come on a day when Khan is likely to resign after his address to the nation. “PM Imran Khan is not stepping down. He is an elected prime minister. He’ll play till his last ball,” Sheikh said, adding that Pakistani Army Chief General Qamar Bajwa and ISI chief Lieutenant General Nadeem Anjum have reached the PM’s house to meet Khan ahead of his address later today

Or maybe they are just scared of US and hence staying 'neutral'. Later on they can tell Biden and co that we did exactly what you wanted and we gave the opposition all the freedom to fight your case. I can't believe this attempt of regime-changing in a sovereign country is not all of the World media.

That could be it. The reason being is that IK is trying to speak with Biden badly but he is not answering him. I could agree with you on that. Biden Admin does not like IK and they want to remove him.

Americans got double crossed by Pakistan in Afghanistan not long ago. Why would Biden or any Prez would want to speak to Imran or military?

Prime Minister Imran Khan's address to the nation, which was scheduled for today, has been postponed, the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Senator Faisal Javed Khan announced on Wednesday, without giving reason for the move.

"Prime Minister Imran Khan's address to the nation has been postponed today," he wrote on his official Twitter handle.

The announcement from the PTI senator came minutes after he tweeted, “PM Imran Khan is winning 100% insha'ALLAH.”

Earlier today, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid had said that Prime Minister Imran was to address the nation in the evening to take it into confidence in the light of the prevailing political circumstances and a no-trust vote against him.

The minister made these remarks in a brief interaction with the media as he came out of the cabinet meeting for a quick cigar break.

Meanwhile, Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has tweeted, “Prime Minister! Imran Khan InshaAllah.”

“Dwarves trying to knock out a giant,” he said in a tweet earlier in the day while sharing the cover of children’s book Gulliver's Travels.

It's us who are dying to speak with Biden. not them. They do not even attend our calls. We are desperate to speak to them. When Biden did not give bone to our government. Now all talk started Amreekans are involved.

The opinion of BJP apologists in reference to the great IK has no relevance. When Pak talk about the 4th Reich in India, BJP apologists are quick to say it’s no one’s concern, so why are BJP apologists concerned, or even interested, in Pakistan’s great leader?

One thing you can always count on and that is Indian hypocrisy.

He should. If some country is asking pak army to do a regime change, people should know.

PK army have made many mistakes when it comes to upstarting criminals in politics and this is yet another one. The people are aware and as they have already shown, it won't be so easy

It seems that Army will form an agreement between opposition and imran Khan to call early election and cancel the no vote confidence. This will be face saving for Imran and meet the onjectives of three thugs.

IK shouldn't agree to any of this. Let the mafia and their American and local Sponsors bring him down. The public needs to see who are the guys that work for other countries. Kaptaan has an amazing legacy, but showing thr mafia totally nanga could become his greatest
