Salaam brothers,
i need a cheap bat to replace my split kookaburra total belta which ive had for 5 years and ive come across the gray nicolls ignite 500 for £30 online. But i cannot find much information about this bat and dont know if its EW or KW. There is also many other ignite models such as 5 star, 4 star ect. Does anybody know about this bat or has used in the past?

Walakiumasalam Brother,

Welcome to PakPassion, I hope you enjoy your stay here.

I haven't used or held Ignite but have seen in pictures and to be honest the shape is lovely so I'm sure you can't go wrong with it.

If you share the link then I can tell you if its KW or EW.

the 500, im pretty sure its ew. also, the ignite is from the '10 range , not the latest range . It is on the heavier side but does have an alright pickup but you can definitely feel that its heavy. It has a nice thick middle and has a traditional shape to the bat. Nice thick edges as well. My friend has a 4 star and it was 3 pounds , 9-11 grains, nice curve to it, heartwood on one side and 1 or 2 butterflies on the face

JN1301 mate, don't UK Ignite and Oz Ignite have different shape?
different shapes? i do not know, all i know is that they have different grading systems like, uk has 5 star, 4star, 3star etc. Aus has 1000LE,1000,750i,500i and yeah. But my friend has the 4 star which is the uk one anyway so yeah lol

JN, mate, do you know if the models in UK are the same as in SA, because the overseas pro at our club (SA), has a Ignite Pro Performance?

The bat itself however is massive. And I am not exaggerating but the bat goes like a train.

salaam bros, I was in town yesterday and my store managed to have one Ignite 500 left so i bought it for £30. It still had the £120 price tag on it so i think this should be a good bat. It looks pretty good and has a very nice sweet spot. But it is a bottom heavy bat so driving it forward has a heavy feel to it. Pick-up is fairly balanced though. Overall i am happy with it but yet again im not sure if it is a EW or KW. There are no mentions on the bat. Here are some images, can you guys tell me the willow type and grade? Thanks!

for 30 bucks the bat looks very good. I hope you score a lot of runs with it :)

Woah for £30 that looks a bargain.

Mind telling us how much it weighs and also how thick the edges are?

JazakallahKhair.

It looks very very good for 30 Pounds to be honest. Just knock it properly bhai and I am sure you will love it!

If you are finding it too heavy double grip it as it will improve the balance and you will hopefully feel better.

It is definitely English Willow

When do you think you will have a net with it?

When you do, please tell us how it plays inshallah.

I just ordered a Bat knocking in mallet which should arrive today so ill be in the nets after tomorrow. Will let you know bro.

i agree, its got really nice even grains. Maybe its 30 pounds because its not the latest range from gray nicolls and also is a 500 which isnt the highest in the range

Believe me or not I have seen worst grains on a Grade 1 bat compare to this, I have seen worst looking grains on a 300+ Pounds bat than this 30 pounder :))

what grade ist it?

Im trying to figure it out myself. Nowhere does it say anything about the grade, the willow type or even the weight. Not even on the bat. Ive done a lot of research on bats lately and my bat does look like a grade 1-2. But the price gives me doubts!

Ive knocked my bat in for about 4 hours roughly. But weirdly i have noticed that my bat has decreased in weight significantly. In fact, it feels around 2.10-2.9 ish. The pickup is absolutely amazing now. Is this what was meant to happen?

No, I don't think knocking makes it lighter, I don't know what happened but maybe you're getting used to it.

So how has this bat been working out for you so far? Played a match yet?

Yes lol, played 4 matches and the bat hasnt touched any leather. Got out on a duck once and the rest did not bat. Very bad start but that always happens to me at the beginning of a season. Im mainly a bowler anyway.

Lol! I hope you get a bat very soon :)
