On this forum non-stop we hear about how players from the past were all so much better and this that.

I came across Steve Kerr's comments, which I thought would be a perfect answer to all those people:

“They’re all right. They would all kill us. The game gets worse as time goes on. Players are less talented than they used to be. The guys in the 50s would’ve destroyed everybody. It’s weird how human evolution goes in reverse in sports. Players get weaker, smaller, less skilled. I don’t know. I can’t explain it.”

Money talks when u have four all stars players, and strongest team in history in NBA, u can make these comments, let’s ask who’s the greatest ever Lebron or Jordan, who has the best legacy, Cleveland, Bulls or Warriors without Durant.

No idea who the guy is at all, comparisons are made based on skill levels not fitness levels. Skills do not necessarily get better in the modern era, we still don't have someone with Viv's hitting skills today where he would clear the 90m boundary hoardings consistently with bats that kids use these days

That's not true, and there's no scientific reasoning behind it

There is no reason to believe people / athletes are less talented today than they were in the past. The human race isn't worsening in any way

If anything, athletes are getting better with much better fitness regimes and diets.

We should listen to Steve Kerr when it comes to shooting 3's and ball movement, but he has absolutely no idea what he's talking about when it comes to human evolution and development

Late 90s and early 2000s were a peak time for cricket. 3 150+kph bowlers (akhtar, Lee, Bond) with a lot of 140+ bowlers as well (Wasim, Donald, Waqar)

Nowadays we get excited when someone hits 145...
