What's he doing?!

Come on guys.

In his defence, he is 'wearing' a mask. He probably just pulled it down for the selfie because otherwise, when the fan tell his friends that he met Rauf, no one would believe him.

That doesn't matter.

He is supposed to be quarantined in his house.

Unless he has tested negative since his last test?

The fact that he went out to interact with fans and put his position as a role model/ star above his own personal health should be commended.

Failed 5 tests, but still out and about in the streets.

What on earth is he doing.

Lol :)))

He is crazy

I want to laugh at this but this is very irresponsible. How can you roam around the streets when you are diagnosed with COVID.

Also when is this dumb selfie culture going to go away especially at a time when you have to maintain social distancing.

The fan is also a fool here but at a lesser extent though.

PCB needs to give Rauf atleast a slight wrap on the wrist for this.

I fought once u get corno it goes after 14 days and u cant re get it ?

At what point are we going to realize that this “flu” not about you. I am assuming you are a young guy, what about your family members or other people you interact with? I am sure there are elderly folk and some of them may have diabetes etc.

My point is that once u get corno you cant get it again surely it's been more than 14 days since it started and when was the last time he was tested.

It does not matter when was the last time he was tested. As far as we know he has tested positive over 5 times. He should not be out there till he is cleared.

Clear from the PCB tests or local testing ?

Clear from the PCB tests or local testing ?

Unless he has cleared all tests and PCB have "forgotten" to say that, I would say he is danger to others if he does this.

Obvs he hasnt cleared all tests but when was the last time they tested him.

This is idiotic

A) he shouldnt be out and about in public
B) he shouldve said no to the selfie and kept his distance from members of the public

This is the attitude towards Covid-19 by most Pakistanis in Pakistan rather than staying at home in isolation they rather be out and about roaming around and enjoying.

Really stupid stuff, and even more so for a public figure. Makes me question even his Cricketing IQ

Unconfirmed report:

Lahore: Right-arm pacer Haris Rauf has finally tested negative for widely-spread COVID-19, sources confirmed ARY News.

According to the details, Haris was tested COVID-19 positive for five which ousted him from team’s arrival to England in June. The cricketer went into isolation immediately and the PCB was monitoring his health regulary.

Now, after being tested negative once, Haris will undergo a second test tomorrow and if it comes back negative, he will be eligible to join the national team in England.

well we dont even know the authenticity of the pic. maybe the old pic was uploaded by the user for just "meem" material. You never know.

I think that he is a key player for Pakistan in England - even potentially for the Tests.

We know that Sohail Khan will be like Shannon Gabriel - unable to recover from his exertions in the First Test.

At that point, Pakistan will need a "new" fourth fast bowler.

To me the options are Mohammad Amir or Haris Rauf.

And Pakistanis need to understand the impact that Haris Rauf had in Australia last summer - and in the nets as well as in the Big Bash.

Rauf is 18 months older than Jofra Archer, but he has a lot less miles on the clock - they are probably around the same in terms of their future careers.

Their pace is the same. Rauf moves the ball more. Their height is almost identical - Archer is just 2 cm taller than Haris Rauf.

And they have had an identical impact in the T20 leagues in which they have played - in fact, if anything Haris Rauf is more feared here in Australia.

Is he uneducated and foolish? Probably.

But Pakistan has a worldbeating fast bowler here, and they need to recognize it!

We’ve seen what “educated” cricketers have produced in terms of unruly conduct. (Cronje, M. Waugh, Gibbs, etc).

The mask of eruditeness is just a veneer for the centuries old classism that has led England to rot and this game as well.

As Lincoln said, those with damned few vices have damned few virtues as well.

He is trash. Nothing more than a poor man’s Wahab.

He will never amount to anything in international cricket beyond playing a few T20s.

He isn’t that good anyway...

Shaheen, Naseem and Hasnain are better imho.

I guess this is known as self(ie) isolation.

You have misread my post.

I was defending him from the criticism of the selfie, arguing that he should be judged by his performances and not his education!

Does "failing" a test mean he is covid positive?

Shaheen, Naseem, Abbas are our three best test seamers. Barring injury and fitness concerns, that should be our first string attack.

The guy has played like 1 T20, ofcourse I’m being sarcastic. He’s a nobody right now.

I was referring to your comment about the personal health thingy cuz it's not all about personal health but I think you get it so ignore me

From PCB:

Fast bowler Haris Rauf has cleared his second Covid-19 test and is eligible to join the squad in England. As per the protocols he was tested twice – Monday and Wednesday.

He is expected to travel over the weekend. Details of his travel plan will be shared in due course.

So I guess Musa will be sent back now.

Nothing official yet from PCB.

ECB are paying for a 29 player squad, so if it goes to 30 with Haris joining, then yes, one player will have to return to Pakistan.

Dont know if ECB planned for costs for multiple flights also - which seems to have happened as well due to the various COVID-19 test failures.

What are you saying now hes tested negative ?
His second test came out negative today, he was tested on Monday & Wednesday as per PCB press release. It was irresponsible from him to take selfie with the fan and shouldn't be defended for that.

Reports indicate that Haris will leave for England tomorrow and will be tested once again upon his arrival in England after which he can join the squad.

Who are they releasing? Musa Khan I would imagine?

Sad that he missed the first month of the tour (obviously due to circumstances he couldn't really control). I think he could have done well in the practice matches the Pakistani team played. Also would have been a great experience for him in the long run.

Also, IMO the duke ball would have been good to him.

Anyhow, I hope he plays all 3 T20Is. Good luck to him, he could be a vital part of our T20I team. Need for him to bowl as he did in the BBL.

Pakistan should go in with attack off

Shaheen,rauf,husnain then your 2 spinners

No news of Haris since his arrival in UK - one hopes all is good with him.

He needs to be used in the nets as a Jofra Archer clone, bowling fast and with a lot of bouncers.

Sohail Khan is a terrific net clone of Jimmy Anderson. And Haris Rauf could be a great net clone of Jofra Archer.

Haris Rauf is too short to be an Archer clone.

is this sarcasm?

Archer is between 6 '1 and 6 '2 . His google height is wrong.
And lol Rauf is not 5 '9. He is around the same height as Amir, maybe a half inch taller; around 5'11 or 6.

Harris Rauff keeps catching covid. This should be a concern that after getting the virus like 6-7 times not how are his lungs even operating. The guys career can be cut short if there is alot of internal damage.

It seems he himself doesnt take that much care.

How is it even possible to catch covid 6 -7 times? Does this mean he has caught; the original variant, as well as delta, alpha, beta and omicron???

If so, then that could do bad damage to him, and unfortunate, but at the same time tells us he probably doesn't follow social distancing, covid rules.

Isn't Rauf supposed to be in a bubble to he can play Test matches, not taking his mask off to take selfies with fans? Is that part of Pakistans "bubble" set up?

Look at the post date. It is from August 2020, when Pakistan was touring England. Rauf was staying back in Pakistan in this image as he was supposed.to be isolating back then.

His covid positive in media has been reported like 3-4 times. And this is from PCB testing. The guy probably has had this many times. Dont know about variants, but he is now risking his own career with this

He has tested positive as many times as Hafeez’s action has been called by the ICC

It could have been when they won the psl trophy and when they went to Aqib room.
