He can solve our AR issues and replace Hafeez/useless Asif Ali as an AR at 6.

He is young, energetic, good hitting ability and has excellent captaincy skills too.

Can bowl fast which will be extremely useful in the UK next summer.Pakistan should definitely try him for the SA tour.

I.remember him being a better AR than Shadab Khan in the U19 WC 2016..cannot waste another talent.

PCB must rope him in atleast for the A side instead of wasting time on Waqas Maqsood and other 30+ players.

He needs more time and runs on his belt. Playing in Pakistan A can be good.

Good talent howver the only way for him to be fast tracked is through playing few matches in PSL and performing or A team performance.

Though I also think as ARK Rafay said he needs bit more time however, playing in PSL and with A team can exponentially increase is exposure.

We need a more compact list A setup to judge talent like Mohsin. It’s one thing to improvise on Shahzad Azam Rana’s dibbly doblers and it’s another thing to improvise against the bowlers like Junaid Khan, Mohammad Irfan, Hassan Ali or Shaheen Afridi. That’s why we need a PSL adjacent List A tournament.

Yes agreed but he also scored runs against Wahab,Zulfiqar etc in his previous match at a SR of 100+

Plus as an AR he outperformed Shadab Khan in the U19 stage so why not try him out?

But true should be tried in the A side first

Totally and I think with change in the domestic structure administration is also looking for PSL level domestic structure. So when the best will play against the best, that is when the talent like this can be nurtured to great heights.

Too short and weak. There is some talent there though. But if you are talking about making him bat at 6, then he is not convincing enough for me as a big hitter.

He outperformed everyone in that U19 World Cup.

Shahzad azam is by no means a dibbly dobbler, he used to be genuine 140k bowler and still he's capable of consistently between 133-138k

What happened to Hussain Talat?

What happened to Hussain Talat?

His place is in the top 5 and there are better performers like Saud,Rizwan that can take that place.

Right now

Fakhar
Imam
Babar
?
Shoaib
?
Sarfraz
Bowlers

Two slots are open for anyone number 4 and number 6

If Malik doesn't perform well in the NZ and SA series his spot can be in danger too.
Sarfraz as long as he is captaining well is okay.

Saud is better in which way?

Do you mean Muhammad Rizwan?

Talat is superior to both, can bat well and bowl.

How is he better than both? I’m genuinely curious.

Muhammad Rizwan is a decent keeper, in fact I'd rather him as a keeper than Sarfraz but Talat is a better batsman and if we're talking all rounders who can bowl pace, then Talat is the guy. nOt sure if theres a need for a comparison between the two.

Anwar Ali is a better bowler than Talat don't get your hopes up with Talat's bowling.

I don’t agree with syed on many things but I have seen Anwar Ali winning more matches for Pakistan as an all rounder than Hussain Talat. Hussain Talat is completely overrated.

Not a n6 batsman by any means. He has some good shots and should give up on bowling and become proper batsman. Same advice I would have given to hammad Azam , they look like better batsmen than our main batsmen so might as well practice that only and earn a spot rather than try and compete for an all-rounder spot.

So what has he done after that u19 WC? Has he played good in domestic cricket since you want him in the team or is all this based on his outings during u19 WC? Serious question as I don’t follow domestic cricket any more.

Who is he and why do we have a thread after him?

Show me some good clips!

Not a hitter right now imo but i loved his improvisations. He did this in u-19 wc too..
Though i dont think he should be drafted into the side right now. Few more years atleast and see from there on.

He needs to bulk up some. If he is the be a Pakistan No.6 AR than he needs to be a big hitter who is capable at batting 130-140 SR.

he did not get a proper chance till now

Like Shadab he should be picked early orelse he will become another Anwar ali

Liked him, Hasan Khan, Shadab Khan, and Umair Masood from the moment I saw them in the U-19 WC.

I like him... gutsy cricketer, from what I remember.

One to keep an eye on. But right now, he needs to focus on getting couple of good FC seasons under his belt and focus on one skill that he can rely on. In his case, its batting.

Getting into pakistan team too early is a double edge sword, if you do not succeed, you could be written off for entirety of your career.

Well after seeing how Farhan looks in international cricket, i have lost faith in all young gun batsmen.

Thanks.

Looks like need to develop quite a bit at this stage.

His improvisation sets him apart from other batsmen in domestic cricket. I have not seen any Pakistani batsmen in recent years who can sweep the ball with such authority as well as coming down the track to attack the spinners. Plus, he’s really got this ability to pierce the gaps and rotate the strike. His scoop shots and reverse sweeps against the pacers are a sight to behold. He isn’t a finished product by any means but the ppl who are suggesting him to develop some muscles for power hitting are forgetting that it’s the lack of weight that is helping him bending so easily to play his sweep shots. He will lose the suppleness in his wrists if he start putting on weight. Right now he is maximising his range of shots within his limitations which is the right thing to do. He should take the lessons out of Younis Khan’s book and should never compromise on his fitness.

I agree with OP, especially after quite a few chances to Asif Ali, whose only claim to fame is to hoick everything to the leg side; I rarely ever see him trying to play straight or on the off side especially a big shot and that against good bowlers, which is the easiest and shortest route to hitting a six!

If Hassan Mohsin performs at the level as displayed in the video above, against some good bowlers on a few more ocassions, Pak selectors should fast track him to the A team and give Iftikhar Chacha his long overdue pension and retire him :-)
