West Bengal's Howrah district finds itself gripped in tension after a Hindu temple was found vandalised today morning in the area.

The temple was ransacked, with portraits of Hindu Gods and Goddesses found stained with mud.

Many eye-witnesses have come forward claiming to have seen miscreants throwing the saffron flag into a drain and vandalising trident (trishul) of Hindu Gods.

Disgusting to attack any place of worship.

Isn't this the area where mosques were attacked and there was violence around a Hindu festival?
 
So much of secularism . There have been news of many hindus leaving their home towns in some parts of west bengal for safery reasons. Assam,west bengal ,kashmir and what's next place for hindus to move out??? India should deal with religions ,castes and all forcefully.
RSS , or islamic hardliners all needed to be dealt with force. No sympathy to anyone.

It seems you as an Indian worry more about the majority Hindu's of India rather than the minority of Muslims in India, yet you call for secuarlism? lol

There were restrictions on hinds festivals like durga puja visarjan in west bengal since last year i guess and only hindus festivals ,do mind this. . Politics politics politics.

I dnt know about moseque ,if someone from west bengal or anyone can tell us. It would be great to read that.

Na na na if minority get hit then secularism is at danger and the same way if majority get hits then also secularism is at danger na ?? Logics ???
We know for most of you guys only islam and islamic rules matter in the whole world. But we should look at from all the perspectives.
 
Mashallah What a mess India is. Both Hindus and Muslims deserve each other.
 
India has a unique problem and this problem can only be addressed adequately if the government is impartial toward this issue and since the people of India has elected RSS sympathasier, a radical religious extremists, it won’t go away due their inability to be impartial and favoring one group over the other.
 
Hope God(s) are watching this mess being done on their name.

Can never support an attack on any place of worship. There are powers at work who want a civil war in India. Could be Hindu or Muslim fanatics or even an outside force. Many Indian's I know feel Pak's ISI is supporting Bangladeshi hardliners. I am not there so can't say.

ISI and RAW are always fighting. They have been at it for decades. Now ISI is paying RAW back over what have been doing through Afghanistan.

CJ Bhai your beautiful state which once gave us Indian Renaissance and produced so many intellectuals of highest order has sadly gone to gutter. I'm afraid it's too late for remedial measures now and Bengal in coming times would witness major Hindu Muslim clashes.
Communists and Mamtas have ruined the state.

This. Can't think of two less civilized groups of people than subcontinental Muslims and Hindus. A match made in heaven between people who well and truly deserve each other. Both groups collectively represent the rock bottom of humanity.

There are almost 2 billion people living in SC. Statistically speaking you are bound to have bad apples in there :facepalm:
 
I am a Bengali. Let me state what is actually happening here. Bjp is trying to get foothold in Bengal. Now after 4 years of modi government in the centre, talks of economic development and economic clarity is false. Everyone knows that. So bjp is playing it's age old card of communal politics. For that they brought large amount of hooligans from bihar and jharkhand, and used ramnabami as a way to showcase their muscle. They deliberately choose to enter Muslim majority area and caused trouble. As a result communal riot started. They killed the son of local imam expecting that the Muslim community will backlash, giving them the opportunity to polarise Hindu population. But the imam in a great show of humanity asked for total non-violence from his followers and foiled bjp's plan. I suspect that this attack on the temple was also done by some bjp frauds in an attempt to polarise the Hindus. They have tried this dirty trick before also.

Communists were far better. They didnot touch the religious fabric of the state.

The term bad apples implies that such people are in a minority. In Pakistan at least, that is patently not true and considering how similar Indian society has become in recent years to post-Zia Pakistan, I find it hard to believe that its also not the case there. Religious nuttery is the root cause of subcontinental folks' scumbaggery and on that count, I can say for a fact that religious extremists constitute a majority of Pakistan's population and judging by what's been happening in India lately, it doesn't take much of a leap to figure that Indian society's Pakistanization is in pretty advanced stages.

Your statements are contrary to a few other Bengalis I know. Do you mind me asking, where do you live in Bengal? What's your opinion on the influx of Bangladeshis and Rohingyas which gets highlighted in the media?

I agree with gargada on some points, but I disagree in many points too. He is a Tmc sympathiser while I am a hardcore cpm supporter.
 
OK. Here is my opinion about infiltration from Bangladesh and Tmc's role in it. There was always some illegal immigration in border areas. I am not sure whether it has increased in recent years or not.what changed radically from cpm era to Tmc era is the fundamental preaching of groups like Jamats.there are videos available which shows waz(is that the correct term?) held preaching not only communal but highly derogatory comments to woman. Tmc supported them to secure Muslim vote bank. But that paved the way for bjp to gain foothold in Bengal. To counter them what Tmc did was truly playing with fire. They appeased Hindu fundamentalist groups and Islamic fundamentalist groups together which resulted in both groups gaining power. The result is the current situation.

So God that created the entire universe,resides in that temple? Clean the temple up and just go on praying,it's only a place of prayer.
