Hi guys, I’ve decided to open this thread and I invite all the UK financial experts to this in a bid to gain further information about how the government is looking to tackle the financial issues of the country.

My first concern is the council tax and utility prices during this pandemic with the government forcing most of us to stay home, and the concerns of job security.

Can anyone explain if any bill has been passed to relax council tax charges for the next three months at least? Also, people have been forced to stay home meaning they are consuming so much more electricity/gas on average. Surely the Government has to step in?

More burning questions to follow

Nothing regarding council tax yet.

Good point regarding help with utility bills.

You should call HMRC directly to discuss corp tax / paye / income tax and I’m sure they will defer payments without interest charges or penalties.

For council tax, I have no idea but so call your local council to discuss this...
