Hosting the PSL Finals successfully in Lahore would mean "Safe Country" or "Competent Security"?

Makes you wonder what is the conclusion that can be reached after hosting the PSL Final in Lahore without any trouble ( without any foreign players visiting ) ?

That yes we do have problems in our country but the security that we will provide is world class and you wont be harmed or the country is outright safe for foreign players to visit ?

Will either of the conclusions be good enough to convince foreign players to visit Pakistan in the next editions of the PSL or during International tours ?

same as that one.

Safe country when it is shut down for 2 days. We could have cricket year around if we have the country permanently shut down with all businesses closed and curfews strictly imposed.

If we have to close city for 2 days for a T20 game, what would happen for a 3 match Test Series?

Competent security.

The news of blasts should stop coming out of Pakistan for a few years before touring countries can safely assume that the situation is safe.

Good Question, its just Competent Security by closing down the entire city with a curfew like Shoot at Sight orders being given to anyone straying outside.

Just imagine how safe and secure a Western Player would feel in visiting such a country , where's he's being given adequate protection that one gets while visiting a warzone and also constantly shielded by armed commandos.

Competent security.

Only if hiding such things were that simple.

Even if it could be done, it is unethical.

Competent security. Pakistan, unfortunately, is not a safe country and some major changes have to come about in order to bring true law and order back.

Competent security because no country in the region is 100% safe. And nowadays no country anywhere is 100% safe. If Pakistan an prove it provide security for T20 games that is a start. We can take it from there. Perhaps we can stage a small T20 int series next. And then work from there.

It would just mean that the authorities went out of their way to provide a level of security that would not be possible if international cricket in Pakistan became a regular occurrence and while it would be there to convince non locals that we can provide adequate security, no one is thinking about the fact that it's one thing to provide that level of security for a single match or a single three match series, it would be a whole different ballgame if there were, say, three series in a year with tests, ODIs and T20s, spread out over different parts of Pakistan and the financial constraints alone would bankrupt the PCB.

Block social media. Control all news channels. Make it a 1984 George Orwell State and perhaps foreign teams might be convinced that it is safe.

Its been 8 years since the Sri Lankan team was DELIBERATELY TARGETED. We are still suffering from the ramifications of that. Do not expect people to forget that incident easily.

The PCB can't win. If they provide presidential level security they will be accused of wasting resources, creating a situation which can't be sustained for a full series etc yet if they ensure moderate security is in place they'll be accused of not caring for the lives of the players.

So what are they meant to do? Lots of people are saying "have it there next year or the year after" but I bet we'd get the same arguments then.

The PCB have to get the ball rolling sometime so why not now?
