How will this creative concept of T20 Test Cricket will work. This is a creative idea.
To put this into perspective
There will be 2 innings of 20 overs each and 40 overs will be played on day 1 and 40 overs on day 2.
To give an example.
Pakistan today chased 148 in 18.2 overs.
Nzl scored 147 in 20 overs batting first.
Pakistan scored 149 in 18.2 overs chasing. In T20 Test cricket format. Pakistan shall continue to bat last 10 balls of innings. So assuming Pakistan scored 170 today in 20 overs.
There was a lead of 23 runs in 2nd innings.
So tomorrow Kiwiz bat again & score 180 in 20 overs. Target for Pakistan to win T20 Test match will be to score 158 in 20 overs. (180-23)
This is not a bad format, it will ensure competitive matches. And both teams will play hard to take lead.
Adding Test cricket style in T20 Test cricket
We can have white kits
Red ball
Bigger boundaries
And no powerplays
However bowlers shall have 4 over limit and declaration shall be an added option given to captains ( although noone will use it).
ODI cricket and original Test cricket has some connection due to longer format.
Follow on option can be given if lead is above 75 runs
