I can't believe people were optimistic on pakistans chances of winning today against India a team that has edged us in world cups matches when we had our best ever teams in the past let alone now. We will never beat India or a top 7 LOI side with 7 players. Even a top football team can't win with 7 players against a 11. So if your parents loved you and taugh you basic maths you'd realise we are short 4 players.
Let's be honest, this game a side and looking at it as a whole, Azhar Ali, hafeez, shezad, Wahab are always absent in terms of performance or in any shape or form of impact.
If anything they suck the life out the game and put is in such a adverse position that for Pakistan to win they have to do more then what a normal side would have to do to win with 11 players.
The solution is simple, we need to take the England approach and drop all dead weight and look to move forward and look towards the future.
Focus on domestic cricket and bring in players from the circle and not TTF.
Bring back Sharjeel (given he's innocent) and bring in another hard hitting opener who can compliment Sharjeel and aid him opposed to put pressure on him which is what Azhar and Shazad and Hafeez do.
However this is a solution does not mean we would now become number 1, it just ensures we adapt the modern game and finally compete with the rest of the world.
I don't mind losing but I do mind being humiliated and that's what happened today losing by 124 runs on a fantastic batting pitch.
Personally I think my ODI side would look like this
1. Sharjeel
2. Another hard hitting opener to aid Sharjeel
3. Barbar Azam
4. sarfraz Ahmed (captain keeper)
5. Malik (for now because he is performing very well but a time would keep probability in less then a year he needs to be replaced as well and would need to replaced by a dynamic midile order batsman, Harris sohail comes to mind if he can do what he did prior to surgery but we should look towards domestic and investing in a youngster.)
6. Once again look towards domestic and someone who can emulate what umar akmal did at the start of his career and numbers don't lie he did very role even though de didn't perform to his full potential but past few years he's been very poor, and if he does lose weight and get fit and put up some numbers in domestic to merit his selection then we can slot him back at 6 and let's be honest no one is better then him at 6 I'm Pakistan right now but once again if he don't change then we should look towards domestic cricket and investing in a youngster.
7. imad wasim
8. Muhammed amir
9. Shadab Khan
10. Hassan Ali
11. Once again wahab ain't the player he used to be with either bat or ball and must be discarded. We should look towards investing in a new bowler or all rounder.
With such changes I feel will allow Pakistan to become more competitive and af the very least have the games go down to the wire, right now Pakistan lost by the 25th over being 6 down or skelthinf silly with next to nothing on the score board. Another important factor is that Pakistan is so boring to watch. When you watch all the other sides and then watch Pakistan it's honestly no different to a test match. At some looks fans will stop turning up and tuning in. The side I have listed or if your disagree with my side and select your own I can guarantee you would be more exciting and fun to watch then the side played today full of liabilities. I used to love watching Pakistan play as a youngster, now at 20 years old I struggle to sit through 20 overs of Pakistan batting and would much rather just go to the park.
