Azhar ali is a averaging 26 since jan 2018 and 31 since jan 1 2017 and now he is the captain. In the name of 'stability' he wont be removed from captaincy even after failures in australia. Azhar is on decline and his last few away series show that he is struggling big time. Averages 13 away since jan 1 2018. He is 35 officially and was a timid captain when given opportunity in odis. How long will pakistan continue to bear these non performing specialist captains.

Well with Sarfraz as captain PCB realized it was a time of change. A change that could potentially help Sarfraz’s previous tenure big time. By selecting a even worser captain than him PCB have given us fans a chance to remember how great of a captain Sarfraz was. Aus tests wont damage Azhar or management much but Srl test series will either prove the current coaching setup and captain to the previous setup under which we declined to no 7. However, if Srl test series doesnt go as planed than Azhar and coaching staff will be under a lot of pressure.

If we remain playing uninspiring cricket and keep loosing under the new setup and don’t improve then just like the previous setup pressure will start to build. To keep on changing captain and coaches every 3 months wont help our cricket so lets hope team can put up some decent performances.

If they can somehow squeeze a test in Aus then that would do wonders for the confidence of the team with quite a few youngsters and inexperienced players. Srl test series is really important for both Azhar and Misbah as loosing that would mean playing a catch up which is really difficult to do and for Sarfaraz and Mickey that happened with 5-0 whitewash in NZ ODIs and 0-2 loss vs Srl in UAE tests.

This team has already been whitewashed by Sri lanka at home. Azhar has been awful for so time now and he's selected as captain bare in mind Misbah recommended him as captain for odi's when he wasn't even picking him in the team. Mickey test performance wasn't great which we all agree. Misbah is selected now lets hope it ends quickly because picking guys like bhatti, imran, irfan and wanted to select hafeez and malik too.
