How many wickets will Mohammad Amir get in the Test match against Ireland?

Man is under pressure. From Azhar Mahmood to our lovely media, everyone is talking about his inability to take wickets. Can he get himself in the groove for the England series by taking wickets against an 'easy' opposition on a wicket which may help him?
 
I think he will either have an amazing match like CT final or yet another uninspiring performance leading to more criticism. I voted for 1-2, might get the odd wicket.
 
Weather permitting, I've gone for 5-6.
 
1-2 in each innings. So I will go for 4-5. He will though maintain the pressure for others to pick up wickets
 
He will probably get lots of wickets in Ireland and also England, because there is no one else who can get wickets instead of him. The more important question is how costly those wickets are going to be.
 
Amir needs time in this game to take wickets! Hope he gets more than 5

He might get some opening batsman out due to early swing and cloud cover , otherwise most probably he will have empty wicket column as he always .
For Pakistan ‘ s sake , I hope he gets some wickets.
 
Depends on what line and length he bowls. A defensive line and he won't get more than 8 wickets. A more attacking line and length, he could get 10 plus.
 
Idk why people have such high expectations from him.... some are even saying 6-10 wickets :facepalm:


Amir is just one bowler and we have four others, all of whom are good attacking bowlers. Amir should consider it a good game if he manages 4-5 wickets.


People have too high expectations from him and when he doesn't meet those expectations they spew hate on him.
 
Lets hope he doesn't go wicket-less and embarrasses himself. That's the best we can hope for unfortunately.
 
Good economy rates but just doesn't appear threatening enough. Might get one or two tail enders.
 
He will take more but catches need to be taken!

You know things are bad when people are celebrating wickets against Ireland.
 
Excellent from Amir - and think he is now ready for the series ahead.
 
Should and could have been about 8 wickets with a little bit of luck.

Things are normal if you celebrate wickets against the opposition. Tat's what most people do when their team takes wickets. The Irish team weren't there to muck around. They were a good opposition.

Bro - please don't think I'm picking on you. But yet another ridiculous and over-critical post. A wicket is a wicket. Cricket is a game of passion and it is fine to celebrate a wicket - it was a TEST match - forget the opposition.

What do you expect him to do? Smile politely and walk back to his mark? This would be hugely disrespectful to Ireland and to Pakistan fans. I would expect him to show fire and passion in every game that he plays for his country.

Please try and be a bit more objective and realistic - not every post has to have cynical, critical, sarcastic undertone you know :-)

They are nothing more than a decent County team, and nowhere near Test standard yet. Any good side would beat them in 3 days.

If you notice, I used the world "people" not "Amir".

As a professional, Amir should be giving his best against all oppositions and celebrate as much he wants. I don't have an issue with that.

I am only commenting on the falling standards of the people who are celebrating Amir's performance against a team that is not Test standard.

Would India celebrate the hundred of Rahane or Dhawan against Afghanistan? Obviously not, but of course Rahane or Dhawan will, a Test hundred is a Test hundred after all.

On one hand his fans hype him to the moon and call him a once in a generation talent; on the other hand, they do bhangra when he takes wickets against Ireland and Papa New Guinea. Hilarious to say the least.

Doesn't look like one. Seems like a decent bowler who can be very good when the ball swings. Once in generation talents don't bowl like Amir.

Someone like Rabada deserves to be called a once in a generation talent. He has everything in his locker.

You have to be special to bowl some of the spells he has bowled in my opinion.
