It frustrates me greatly having to see Azhar Ali walk out to partner Fakhar.

Note: I'm not angry at Azhar. Bechara masoom hai. He is not selecting himself, Inzi is, he is desperately trying to be a modern bat but he just doesn't have the skillset and you can't teach an old dog new tricks (yes Shahryar, and Inzi, 30 is old, stop calling him a youngster)

It's a case of "what could have been". Two modern openers, maybe not the best in the world, but definitely best in Pakistan countering the rather slow batsmen to follow after them on an absolute road.

Obviously Sharjeel had it coming, and deserves whatever comes his way.

But we are not playing our best XI here unlike India, so if we lose just know that, thanks.

Late 20s too, so not much time to allow him to improve (as I think he'd need at least a good year or two to improve his shot placement and lose weight).

Very mediocre stats so far despite a good series against Australia.

No doubt a talent, but people are acting like he was a world beater which he wasn't. And I have my doubts he'd even amount to merely a good player due to the reasons stated above.

I really want sharjeel back. Him and Fakhar opening would be as good as Bairstow and Roy. No way he's coming back though so need to find a replacement. Atm I feel sahibzada farhan is the best candidate to replace sharjeel khan. He certainly deserves a chance over shehzad and azhar.

Didn't he just violate the terms of his ban by playing in some domestic league. As much as I liked him, we don't need for such troublemakers as the harmony of the dressing room is quite balanced atm. Should try other attacking alternatives like moving the likes of Faheem up the order or trying Nasir Nawaz etc, even England promoted Bairstow and look at the results.

If not him we might as well give fahim or shadab a go they won't do worse then shehzad or Azhar. I just don't want Babar to be opening and at 4 would want someone attacking like Hussain talat. That's why I want haris to open so we can play Hussain talat too.

I would go with Malik as an opener for WC.
That is the only place he can justify now. we don't want 100/3 in 12 overs. But want 80/0 in 12 overs.
And Malik has experience as an opener, can't do worse than Azhar/Shehzad
