How reliable is Willow TV for watching cricket in Canada/USA?
https://www.willow.tv/

I wanted to subscribe to watch the Pakistan vs SA series, but read many complaints about them on BBB (Better Business Bureau). I decided not to give them Credit card number since they make it extremely difficult to unsubscribe.

https://www.bbb.org/us/ca/mountain-...w-tv-international-inc-1216-267056/complaints

Same thing mentioned on wikipedia

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willow_(TV_channel)
Willow has been the subject of complaints about immoral billing practices, including making it impossible to unsubscribe through the website or app, and ignoring repeated emails requesting cancellations.

What was your experience like watching cricket on Willow TV?

I just get sling. willow is included. So i dont have to deal with willow.

It’s reliable just be wary that if India is having a series at the same time as Pakistan then they will show the Indian series. Power of BCCI.

That is not true. They are currently not showing india vs england series but have broadcasting rights for Pakistan's home series

I recently picked up Sooper TV box. (It's an IP TV) for $65 a year in subscription fee.

It has Willow and few other sports channels (besides 100's of other desi channels) that cover almost every cricket game. They have come a long way and service and quality has improved.

You don't need cable service. The box itself costs one time $160.00

Just the high speed internet and Sooper TV box.

I have heard "Infomir Mag 424 W3" box is pretty good too.

A friend has been using it for quite sometime and very pleased with it.

I think the biggest challenge in watching live cricket from United States is that we are in the worst possible time zone.

Games usually start really late in the night or way too early in the morning. And even if it's a weekend, your sleeping routine gets messed up. I hate it.

Sooper TV however hasn't been bad for $5 a month.

I’m not watching rn, but in the past 6-7 years their schedule shows a Pakistan series, but if India is playing live at the same time, they’ll show India.

Maybe they changed it recently. But I’ve had Willow since 2013 and up till 2019 when I last used it a lot, this would always be the case.

I hate the ads. Aimed at FOB desis, it's so cringe inducing.

I put it on mute especially on Pakistani ads.
Looks like there are only a few products that sell good in Pak? It's either the cell phone service ads, candies, cookies, tea, or some cooking oil.
The most annoying, screaming and dumb with the most horrible musical tunes.

That is not true lol. You can put any available match. Also they don’t show india home series.

My experience with willow: if the series I want to watch (Pakistan series, Ashes or Australia-India) is on willow I subscribe for the month or 2 and then unsubscribe till next series.

Aren’t those ads aimed at North American desis though? People in Pakistan don’t get those ads obv

You can put any match you want which they have right for. You put on the match not a channel

how? i have sling and have willow 1 and willow 2. i can only see the games those two show.

Not very reliable. Sometimes they'll fake a test match...

The hell sorta question is that!@?!?

I just pay the $11-12 pm subscription (share with a friend so halved) and then you go on the app (TV, phone, laptop) and select the match you want to watch. There’s no channel as such. For example in the past few weeks there has been Pak-SA series, WI-Bang series, SL-Eng, Big bash, T10 league, few women’s series. So if match is on you just select and watch. There’s no channel. I didn’t even know there was a thing as a willow channel.

Does it have American sports channels like NBCSN, ESPN and CBS Sports? Like can I get and also be able to watch premier league and nfl through it? I’m annoyed af paying for so many subscriptions lol.

Is the PCB official YouTube channel not available in the US? I watched the whole home series as well as many of the first class matches here I love watching live sports on YouTube as you can rewind and replay something or if you missed an hours play can play it 2x the speed to catch up to live

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiWrjBhlICf_L_RK5y6Vrxw

Even the NZ home series was available on NZ Cricket YouTube channel.

There is a willow cricket channel on some satellite and cable providers.

There are so many IPTV services that work on Amazon firetv, any android tv player, if you have builtin smart tv apps, you don’t even need a box. In fact you don’t even need a paid service if you know how to sideload android apps. The legality is the problem though.

For a legal route, Willow and (for India) Hotstar, are officially the only providers of cricket coverage in the US.

Everything else, even the paid IPTV services on infinite MAG boxes, etc are actually illegal, which is why they are not entirely reliable.

He is asking about the overall service uptime trends. Most of these streaming services are not legal so they don’t always work or have good resolution.

What a coincidence, I was trying to unsubscribe today and their emails (cs@willow.tv) are all shut down (“your email wasn’t delivered”).

Anyone else have the same problem? Their website crashes on the contact us page!!!

I have had the service since 2017 during which I have canceled my subscriptions many times without any issues. Since 2019, I have had annual subscriptions. My only issue with them is regarding Hotstar. Now I have to use willow's login to watch any cricket in India.

they have 2 channels now . Willow and Willow Xtra . @OP they are pretty good but don't always have Pakistan Games. Pak games are being split b/w willow and Espn + and big tournaments sometimes at hotstar . Sucks to be a NOT Big 3 cricket fan in the US.

Are you using the app?

I have the channel only on TV. I don’t have willow extra, just willow regular. And from what I’ve noticed is if there’s a Pak or India game they’ll show one. (Sounds like the other will be on willow extra)

Yeah I don’t have willow extra. And true. Tho it’s always nice when there’s games in NZ or Aus, perfectly lines up during the day.

What I saw mostly were insurance ads for Desis with typical scenarios like buying a car but there was no Naryal (coconut to finalize the ceremony), female desi medical student getting her first car but Daddy is too controlling and so on or Xoom ads to send money to India, Pakistan, SL, BD etc.

Oh and that hilarious Indian Guru guy with a fake American accent whose ads played the most during Indian matches.

lamo , dude is bigtime now , Somehow grew hair and everything .

Yeah ads on willow can be big time cringe, so watch out.

I’ve found American Indian ads to be far more cringe than regular Pakistan / Indian ads.

True! I hate watching cricket on Willow. Espn+ did such an awesome job with Pak v. NZ. Does anyone know of another way to watch cricket in the U.S that is legal?

Willow does have highlights, that ESPN+ doesn't provide.

Power of BCCI? I hope you're never in charge of a business if you think an Indian Company broadcasting to a country with the size of followers that India has is the wrong decision.

I was just messing around, calm down lol. It’s frustrating to purchase the channel to watch Pakistan on the main channel but to see IPL highlights of past games instead. AS THE VIEWER.

Willow is not that great. Use it if you don’t have any alternative. Their HD channel is always 1 over delayed. Sometimes the video repeats.
If you have American Express Platinum card, use that for willow subscription if you are buying. They reimburse your money back.

Yeah I know.. some "cougar" trying to sell the auto insurance to a young kid, the whole Patel family selling life insurance, and that Jotshi who begs to change your future.

However Pakistan ads when you are watching through PTV Sports channel are something else. You would drag your genitals half a mile over broken glass, and then dip them in lemon juice, rather than continuously watching those ads.

I bought 'Jadoo 5 IPTV' about 3 years ago. But now they no longer have any sports channels because of broadcasting rights issue.

I am now reluctant to get any new IPTV box unless it is certain that they will continue to provide sports channels and especially cricket channels

Dude,
Guys got Infomir Mag 424 W3 running here in United States, and they have it activated in Pakistan.
Cost about $5 a month.

It showed on their schedule on their website, but didn’t show up on their main channel.

With all due respect, I think it's user error or you're mistaken. I've never encountered IPL highlights being shown ahead of a live Pakistan match when they had TV rights.
