So, this is probably the second time it has happened.

Against Pakistan, the ball was also changed. The batsman plays so hard that when it hits solid surface, it takes a bit off the ball surface and umpires changed it straight away. Which though, didn't happen in england vs bangladesh match, except when the ball got out of the ground.

So, i think this tactic may be helpful against those teams who work on the ball or have good reverse swing bowlers. Will be interesting to see who else has the capacity to employ this tactic because it would take a powerful hit to take the ball out of the ground.

Butler did it against Bangladesh. Thought may be anyone else noticed.

38th over.

42nd over.

So, the same ball. The other one is still intact

You'll get a top edge or nick it to the slips if trying to edge a swinging ball. Take a few steps down the wicket to counter the swing.

Not even close. It was a different tactic used by England, or what we thought it was. They just shot the ball multiple times out of the ground so that umpires can choose non-used ball which wont reverse
