How would Haris Rauf have fared in this World Cup?

Seeing all the hammering our bowlers getting especially hasan n shaheen. Haris Rauf would have been a perfect bowler to contain runs and he would have been very good at death overs.if Inzi have selected haris rauf instead of husnain we would have a very good bowling strength.

Better than Hasan and Shaheen. He was swinging the ball on phattas in the Pakistan Cup, and can bowl yorkers at will.

Stop hyping those who are out of the team.

He would've scored centuries with the ball.

Haris Rauf is best bowler on pakistan by a country mile. Mikey Arthur and inzi the deluded coach and selector think otherwise. Rauf is the closest thing to bumrah in world cricket and man I sat at home shocking selection

He would have been bad as the others. The best bowlers are here and they are awful. Haris will get his chances and we will see.

Would have done much better than Hasan and Shaheen.

We literally picked Hasnain for no reason.

Nothing can be predicted as you never know how smart a bowler is and how they adapt to match conditions until they are out there , but from the initial impressions of Haris Rauf he reminded me of the old school and style of Pakistani fast bowling of the 90s.

All the buzz in the PSL early on was about Rauf as he looked like a quick bowler and was taking wickets - then Hasnain just came out of nowhere and didn’t even bow that quickly but seemed to have all the media behind him somehow..

And if Hasnain hadnt been picked you and others would be saying how stupid are the selectors for not picking the only genuine fast bowler we have. The skill and temperament levels of these guys is poor. Thr best bow aee here, they are not very good.

I was never a fan of Hasnain, ideally Shinwari would be in for him.

Shinwari isnt good and nor is Hasnain. Hasnain has the worse seam i have seen at any level, but he has pace.

How can you say Shinwari isn't good when he averages 19 with the ball and performed better than Amir, Junaid and Hasnain in the Australian series? You can't judge him based on T20s.

Hasnain I agree; he has a lot of work to do

I don't know how he would have done in the world cup but the five matches against Australia were a total waste.

The two bowlers who have bowled with some dignity, notably Wahab and Amir, were both not in the plans of the world cup. Abid Ali was jettisoned to be dropped and Akmal just played for what. That series was a total loss and more than in one way.

Our planning heads have really failed us.

Trust me, he isnt. Any left armer with that seam isnt. I like his passion, and bowls a hard ball, but skill levels are poor.

Anyone under consideration for selection must play at least two full seasons of domestic cricket.

The gap between domestic and international cricket is too big now. This is not the 80s and 90s when you could fast track any kid off the streets.

With the plans or lack of plans as it seems that the bowling coach has given to the bowlers I doubt he would’ve made any difference.

Hindsight is wonderful. Imagining Haris play in WC with no international experience wouldve been too far fetched.

This exactly.

hum nay jana to hum ne ye jana
jo nahi hay wo khobsorat hay

Yep.

Haris has no first class or domestic experience whatsoever.

He doesn't have the fitness to last a tournament spanning more than a month. He has never played a freaking first class match bowling 20-30 overs a day.

He doesn't have the skillset to read top batsmen in the world and bowl in crunch situations.

And these armchair experts think he would've been taking 5-fers.

It's not even fair to the guy - he would've been mentally scarred for years after getting clobbered in the cup.

I don't know. how can we know? I think selection of players without proper domestic cricket experience must stop.

He should have been selected for the England series which would have given us an idea. I think he was close to ready for the big stage unlike Hasnain who is way too raw.

Especially on PP you will see the team being discussed and then you hear some random names like "Sajid Ghafoor or Akbar Majeed" suddenly because someone (probably those players themselves) told someone here on PP that they are great players.

According to many PP gurus, there are a bunch of match winners sitting at home, and no one plays them because of some conspiracy theory.

I know, random people telling us about amazing players that haven't been picked. As i said these guys our best players and they are not very good.

Worst than Hasan Ali.

Guy has no experience in playing first class cricket or any serious cricket and putting him in the world cup would have created all kind of record, for the mot expensive bowler.

Haris looks like a prospect, as does Hasnain, but would have needed them both to have been introduced to the Pakistan side at least 6 months ago to be assessed whether they were ready for the world cup.

His slingy action would've been really good here. He is the Archer, Bumrah type bowler and we needed him here. Mistake to leave him out, we have a one dimensional attack in the form of Hasan Ali, Shaheen, Hasnain and Wahab, none of them can ball with the new ball.
