Rizwan speaking at end of the 1st T20I:

"The taste of success is something totally different but the first win of the series is always very important"

"If we can win the second game then we have a very good chance that just in the same way we defeated South Africa in the ODI series, we will also defeat them in the T20Is"

"I had a simple goal which was to take the game to the end; I had Fakhar Zaman's innings in the 2nd ODI in my mind; It was a little tricky but that is the objective I had in my mind because I knew that we had power-hitters towards the end of the line-up; So I had plan to take singles and hit boundaries to keep the required run rate in check"

"When we lost wickets of Mohammad Hafeez and Haider Ali, then some pressure got built up but then Faheem Ashraf came in and did some power-hitting and supported us and helped me relax a bit"

"It's always difficult to play away from home but our team is well gelled and so things are easy for us"

"Opening the innings is a little difficult but I have left it to the management to use me in the best possible way, and that pleases me too"

"The way our bowlers bowled in the end, which helped us restrict the score and then the way we batted makes me feel confident that we will win the next game as well"

"International cricket is all about pressure, if you can face that pressure that will make you into a big player which was in my mind; Also the message from the dugout was to keep on playing calmly and we won due to that"

"In our team meetings we plan for these situations and we have a lot of power-hitters in our lower-order; What you need is one player to bat to the end and the power-hitters can support him by taking singles or hitting boundaries"

Rizwan becoming a clutch player. Needs to open in ODIs too. Scores at a good pace and mostly risk free.

This attitude sums it up perfectly. If he keeps on playing calmly then he will rack up huge scores and give great starts.

When Babar has this plan, it's okay with some. But when Rizwan had this plan, he needs to be dropped LOL.

Hope Rizwan keeps on provide humble pie to some of our fans.

It had been a pretty scratchy innings till the 17th over. If he had gotten out around that time, we would have lost definitely.

"When Babar Azam hit hundred, I felt as if I had scored the hundred myself" : Mohammad Rizwan

Mohammad Rizwan speaking after the 3rd T20I

"This is a huge win for us as everyone can see because to chase 200+ runs is a very difficult task"

"Babar and I went in with a plan and that we had to win the power-play; We kept things simple and then when once the momentum was built, we continued scoring runs"

"The innings in the Test match in Australia and today was probably the only times we both played together in such a long partnership; Because a lot of times, I would be out when he was playing or when I was in, he would have been out already"

"But in my heart, I had this wish that we will achieve big things when we play together"

"Today we had this in our minds that we should break a world record but Babar was more positive in his intent and had bigger plans"

"When Babar Azam hit hundred, I felt as if I had scored the hundred myself - and believe me I was so happy when Babar scored hundred that I took off my helmet, as if I had scored the hundred"

"I would like to give credit to our bowlers because just in the way they bounced back in the first game, they did the same today in the way they bowled so well in the death overs"

"Within our team, we had talked about this pitch being a 230-240 type pitch to bowl on so we did well to restrict them"

"Nawaz. Shaheen, Hassan all bowled well but the magical moments of the bowling came from the middle overs by Faheem Ashraf"

"No player is taking things easy and we are all fighters in the ground"

Great mindset.

Let's hope from more from this talented, hard-working cricketer.

The sad thing is that most of our players humble and hard working before they turn to "superstars".
Sarfraz during 2014 had the same positive attitude and humbleness and brought a lot of energy to the match. But compare that with the Sarfraz of 2018-19.

Hope Rizwan and Babar don't go that way.
Fakhar has maintained a humble attitude even after getting a lot of accolades since his career took off. His recent reply to Tanvir Ahmed on being called a tukka player was also very classy.

2019 sarfraz was lazy but he didn't think of himself as a "superstar"

He was always humble and had a positive attitude only difference between the two is hard work
