"I have not committed anything which could stigmatise my country" : Sharjeel Khan

Yes so Sethi sabotaged his own league based on a hunch? Why? How did it profit him?

I don't believe a corrupt person like Sethi on face value. Produce evidence and I will accept it.

People like you were still questioning the pics and videos even then. till the courts actually sentenced them

I'm not sure if PCB has evidence.

PCB is also an expert in handing over confidential stuff including coach reports to media so why is that none of so called evidence been even discussed in media?

I don't care if it's Sethi or not.

This matter has been left unclear by him and he has been giving speculative statements in the media. If there is transparency and both are guilty, They should be punished as per law.

Innocent of what? Why was Symonds banned? Why was Sreesanth given life ban? What evidence was there?

A private organization does not need as much evidence as a court of law. Boards have banned players for life for indiscipline with much lesser proof than even here. A private organization is free to ban a player just for indiscipline alone, you do not need proof as a court of law does

Disagree. While even banning without credible evidence is unfair what is even more unfair is the media trial that the duo have had to go through due to daily statements (backed by no shared evidence) by the PCB.

Symonds pleaded guilty. BCCI and Indian police shared proof against Sresanth - recorded phone calls, transfer of money, details of purchases through that money etc. Not sure if you have enough knowledge about the two cases.

Pleading not guilty is the right of every person. Even murderers who are caught with a smoking gun in their hands plead not guilty. The onus is on the prosecutor to provide evidence proving the crime. Then the defendant gives their response arguing against the produced evidence. That's how a court of law works.

Sharjeel may very well have fixed, but where is the evidence? Why hasn't Sethi sahab produced one document or audio file or picture that can be seen as evidence? If nothing else why hasn't Sethi released the screenshot of the WhatsApp conversations?

Agree. Most of the fixing cases in India weren't proven in court. It appears they are very diffult to prove as well. That doesn't mean that the player is scot free and is allowed to play.

Was sreesanth's case proven in court?
Its extremely important that its proven otherwise the culprit will get away with just a warning which will be a disaster for Pak and PSL will become hub of fixing.

I dislike sethi too and believes that he is corrupt, but i don't think he will accuse a couple of players for MF for no reason.

Court dropped Charges against Sreesanth. However, BCCI hasn't picked him since and I reckon he's been banned for life. India, Pakistan, UAE and SL will always be hubs for betting and fixing unless you make it legal. It's a multi billion dollar business and apparently contributes significantly to local economies and will never be dismantled by the respective governments

A person who has stigmatized Pakistan for so long (Sethi) is going to decide if a player has stigmatized Pakistan (Sharjeel).

I think the best thing to do in this case is Wait and See.
We don't have enough elements in our hands so far to judge.

I don't see a logical reason or motive for Sethi or SK stigmatize PSL, which is very important for their career...Same goes for Sharjeel, they invested heavily in him, it's not easy to find good players, Sharjeel was their product, so why they will deliberately screw him?? 🙄🙄🙄

It's more like 2010 story, even after video evidence, players plea non-guilty and change it down the road anyway...

Sethi maintains they had some solid evidence(video, msg or something else), that they fix and then execute those bets, it may not be by PCB but somebody else(ICC ACU), who knows.

I also don't see, PCB making this scandal public without solid proof, it does not make sense for them to do so...They maybe corrupt but not stupid...

PCB was only trying to make it easy for themselves, by making it a media fiasco, and then calling names out, hoping that pressurizing them into fixing will make the players accept to their guilty charges..

Once they confess they are guilty, they can be an example out of that look 'we are cleaning out corruption from cricket'

But they didn't, they stuck to their guns and called themselves innocent, now like the Panama case, onus is on the petitionner to prove they are guilty..

From what I see, they will have to invest quite alot to prove these players are guilty...like provide proper proofs and all.. which is a tough thing to do in a country like Pakistan...

Now PCB is in trouble...

The judicial system of a country, any country I´d suppose, works differently than of an enquiry conducted by a cricket board, or many organisations, and the charges laid by them. I think there´s a great amount of lack of knowledge on this issue amongst our public and even media, especially the difference that lies between the two in finer details. I´ve heard TV channels repeating the claims aloud how X, Y or Z player has vowed to drag the board to the court for false charges, as if that would prove their innocence! There´s a reason my friend why, for example, the likes of Sreesanth and I think Azharuddin too have been acquited by courts. The "Burden of proof" thing works differently there.

For example, if I take money to commit a crime, but end up don´t doing anything of it at all, I don´t think I´ll go down as guilty by the definitions of the court, but the PCB or any other employer would consider it as enough to ban me from working for them.

Keep also in mind how betting being illegal makes it even harder for the court in a country like Pakistan in punishing the offending players.

Hopefully all will be revealed soon and nothing will be brushed under the carpet.

Once everything is out in the open, then we will know who is lying and who is telling the truth.

It is shocking that people are still believing people like Sharjeel. Of course he is going to deny allegations - he knows that his career is over otherwise. If he admits to it - life ban. If he denies it - he may have a chance to get away with a lighter punishment. It is so clear what is happening here, it has happened a million times before. Sethi isn't the one that has constructed this - why would he damage the reputation of the league that has his name on it? The English police are also making arrests based on this evidence.

People need to stop being fooled by these fixers over and over again. They are crooks, of course they are going to lie again. It happened in 2010, its happened before that too, and its happening again. Yet there are still people rushing to their defence. Lets stop supporting these crooks.

Also, I think that had there been an element of doubt or even place for some leniency, then the PCB would´ve taken that route, like they´ve done in Mohammad Irfan´s case, who continues to play for Islamabad and has neither been issued any show-cause notice.

After Shehryar's statement today, It's evident that they had confession about meeting with bookie and failure to report, He denied stating that Sharjeel played some dot balls.

However the thing is why they actually failed to report.
