The 90s always gives me mixed feelings

Match-fixing was most likely rampant, infighting was a weekly occurrence, discipline took a hike and stability was scoffed at with a new captain every year. Even results wise we had some embarrassing results at home where Wasim and Waqar would rarely play together due to their egos and our batsmen would go missing

However man was that era exciting to watch. Especially our ODI team was box office

Pakistan team if the 1980s was much better and has a better W/L ratio
90s teams are underachievers and lost many easy crucial games like 96 and 99 WC KO matches!

For the amount of talent we had in the 90s we sure did underachieve

The team lost on paper easy series and matches regularly for eg a test series to zimbabwe at home, we overdid a lot of useless jamodi cricket, like another poster said match fixing and infighting was rife together with the huge egos it tore the team apart when an all time future legacy shouldve been built

Pcb mismangement as usual was a contributing factor The pakistan team was box office and shouldve been marketed much much better The era was wasted away when based on their popularity they shouldve created a more marketable brand - made more money to invest in domestics and players, played more high profile iconic test series and created many more all time legends than it did

It was an era of a massive underachievment

I hope the 90s era never come back.
Reason: Already given by above posters.

Pakistan as a country will always find cricketing talent whether it is 90s or now. We still have better talent then most nations but with time game doesn't rely on talent alone.

No thank you. You're one of the reasons we were never able to develop any of the domestic talent to replace you guys. It really irks me when these guys talk about that era.
