Like it or not, this team of youngsters is very united. Nothing like the good ol' days.

They don’t, Rizwan and Baber are still the openers and Sharjeel is still not selected.

Lolxxxx….. Had Sharjeel and Fakhar opened, this match would have ended latest by 10th over. Babar n Rizwan are most selfish openers that some posters have ever seen.

Befitting reply to a bunch of clowns, who are focusing on the wrong aspect of our batting line-up.

Yes, they need to up their strike-rates in some situations, but you don’t give such statements in media to put down your players publicly.

Most of these ex-cricketers haven’t achieved much in their careers, and they are out to ridicule a potential great of the game.

This clown aqib has supported sohail akhtar to captain lahore qalandars for 2 or 3 seasons who was not even ever selected for international games

He is a clown. Doesn't deserve to comment on the Pakistan team or anything related to cricket. Average cricketer and now an average human being.

You are personally attacking his right to be a human being because of his cricket opinion?

What does that make you?

He has gotten personal way too many times with the current cricketers. He should learn to keep those filthy opinions to himself, rather than air it publicly on media outlets.

You should learn to call a spade a spade, rather than push your agenda.

I will call a spade a spade

He hasn’t been proven wrong as of yet. This is just fans who were desperate for some kind of response to him doing bhangra over a nothing match really.

A lot of us are not really taking this series seriously besides hoping to see some changes and how the new faces perform, or if the old failures can find some form before the tournament.

Babar/Rizwan fans are treating this like a World Cup final :))

When they do it in the final, or a crucial game to get us into the final…that’s when Aqib and his philosophy will be put to rest.

Our main problem is middle order. Hope Shan and Haider performs and Asif with bit consistency get rid of Khusdil.

Aquib and his philosophy? Lol! The same Philosophy that had Salman Butt opening for LQ? He’s not the genius that your hilariously biased argument makes him out to be.

He only said those things because it was easy and obvious to say. There are ways to give constructive criticism and then there’s insulting, personal attacks. Aquib took the low road, and now you’re trying to advocate for his ‘expert opinion’ because it’s in line with your own biases.

As I’ve elaborated, Aquibs opinions (or for that matter yours or mine) doesn’t matter.

What matters is a change in approach (batting more aggressively up top), succeeding more often than not with that approach and hence the team getting more confident.

Confidence is like a muscle, it needs to be trained and nurtured to grow. If Pakistan keep playing this way, they will keep getting confident, which can help in a crucial game in the WC.

It’s sad to see a Pakistan fan like yourself, instead of appreciating a remarkable victory, showing displeasure at it because it doesn’t suit his own agenda.

What displeasure have I shown?

I congratulated Pakistan yesterday. I followed the match thread with sincerity and was reading the game like a cricket fan.

I admitted that I was shocked at this performance. Not pleasantly, but rudely shocked because I don’t think I’ve ever seen Rizwan bat like that. Although he was helped by a useless Willy, Curran and Wood but he smashed bowlers that are his caliber in terms of quality. That’s an above par, exceptional performance that deserves credit.

For now, this too shall pass for his T20 critics (including me)

It’s shocking because they clearly took more risks. I’ve never disagreed with you in the fact that both openers need to play more assertively in all situations (including batting first). I’m not a Babar/Rizzy Stan, but rather a proponent of a more courageous strategy. It can be done and we’ll at times look like absolute mugs when doing it ( with the occasional collapse), but it’ll be for the greater good.

I would happily lose the next 5 t20s as long as the batsmen played with more mental freedom and positivity. That sets a tone, and the likes of Haider and Khushdil, who are playing so meekly, can thereby do better than they’re currently doing by playing with freedom. I kind of feel bat for Khushdil, you can see it from the lads body language, feeling worthless in the team so much that it’s begun to affect his fielding.

A lesser player becomes better when he plays with freedom. Ppl have hated on Rizwan because apparently he plays selfishly. Maybe just maybe it’s also because of team instructions?

In Pakistan we’re so short term-ist that we sometimes just look at the result and the players current performances (I.e. how Rizzy/Babar have played recently).

True strategists don’t just see what a player is (I.e. how he’s performing), but rather what he can be (as the openers showed yesterday). And that’s Saqi’s job.

Aquib’s job is to provide sound bites. He feels more emboldened to do so because LQ finally won a PSL after spending oceans of money in the last 6 years. But given his overall record as director of cricket at LQ, he really doesn’t have much overall success, for his opinion to be truly relevant.

The point is to direct all your focus and attention towards a glaring issue in our team - the middle-order. Why should you make daft comments on the one thing that is working very well for your team? Just for a bit of attention?

There is no bhangra, some fans are visibly upset by the undue criticism Babar and Rizwan are receiving, while the likes of Iftikhar and Khushdil keep playing unnoticed.

There are some who are still not happy with our pace bowling too

I don’t look for attention

I command it because I speak from my heart

I was against this combination before it even became a combination. Revisit threads from 2020 when Rizwan was promoted to the opening spot in Babar/Fakhar’s absence.

I vehemently disagree with this combination. It will take a lot, A LOT of convincing for me to agree that it’s the best combination for Pakistan and not for these two individuals and their fans!

For people to use as necessary - our new Babar smiley

We should get Azam Khan and Sharjeel to open. Will give a new meaning to the word fitness.

Do not mind his criticism of Babar. But he should have the same criticism for Fakhar who performed terribly despite having the chance to come in the first six overs. Clearly, he has some sort of bias.

Shouldn't have tweeted so early Shaheen. What a fitting humiliation today for Pak fans!

This has to be one of the stupidest Pakistan teams in the history of our great institution of PCB

And that in itself is a monumental achievement!

Lol, what humiliation? The better team won today emphatically, Pakistan won yesterday comprehensively. Houta hai, houta hai, samjha karo

Yesterday was a one hit wonder. Today we are back to normal.

Correct.

200+ scores are not chased every day. Which is why even chasing it once is a huge achievement.
