Already one of the best ODI bowlers around. He has all the skills needed in that format.

It's not the youngster card, it's the wait and see what he's done once he's settled in and into the second half of his career. He deserves that, it's not like he's averaged 35+ and struggled to pick up wickets his whole career so far.One more thing, the youngster card cannot be played for ever. He will be 25 in December and at that age, someone like Umar Gul was killing it for Pakistan in the World T20 2009 but he didn't seem a youngster to most people because he made his debut in 2003.
Two years later, he did well in the 2011 World Cup but lost the plot in the semi final and was past it already for most people.
2014-15 will pretty much define whether Junaid will be the next Umar Gul or a level above him.
Brilliant prospect for Pakistan and provided he stays fit, should be an integral part of our pace battery.
I don't think Pakistan is getting the best out of Junaid.
The captains and think tank really need to come up with a proper plan for him and when they will use him in limited overs cricket.
When I asked Junaid about working with Waqar his eyes lit up, it was easy to tell that he was looking forward to working with Waqar Younis.

Overrated and chokes in ICC events.
Junaid disappoints me endlessly.
He is a skilled bowler, but at his marginal height, there are a few things he could have done to cement his career, such as:
1. Bowl at a higher pace - between 140-145,
2. Make himself a good enough batsman to be selectable as the third or fourth bowler in the side - no team can afford three number eleven batters.
3. Make himself superbly fit - but he misses more Tests than he is fit to play.
Regularly playing test matches since 2012. Nowhere near fragile like Irfan.
He has only performed in low-bounce conditions, which doesn't surprise me because he is barely tall enough to be a fast bowler. We have seen nothing to suggest that he can perform in Australia or South Africa and indeed last time Pakistan toured South Africa he refused to play the last two Tests on the absurd basis that his skin hurt after he bumped into a door handle.
Saj what is the status on his knee? Mamoon shared his insights as a doctor and said it could be career threatening. You have some inside info on this?
Dreadful again, hope we dump him after this season. Should never play for Pakistan again as well, nothing but a stain on our fast bowling legacy.
At least he dreamed big and wanted to be remembered like W&W, a cat can also look into a mirror and think it can grow into a tiger.

Never rated him myself. He was so hyped on here because of that series against India and a good series against Sri Lanka.
Since he has regressed. Absolutely poor and rubbish bowler.

Three years on, some people are still playing the 'youngster' card, and as far as the comparison with Gul is concerned, he has managed to match his lows but hasn't been anywhere near the highs Gul has enjoyed. So in conclusion, he is just a poor man's Gul.
Fooled everyone with that fluke Indian spell, but since that series, he has bowled ordinary even when his stats looked good. His luck ran out around the 2014 Asia Cup and WT20 and then he fortunately got injured, which bought his stuttering career more time.
He has been fit for a while now but is still rubbish, so that excuses doesn't work anymore. He is simply terrible, both skill-wise and intelligence-wise. Not to mention his potentially illegal action.
No pace, no swing, no seam, no control, no brain, can't bat, can't field. What a package.

Fortunately, got injured? Too far brah lol nonetheless agree with the rest.
Fortunately for him. He avoided getting suspended for chucking and also prolonged his career.
sohail has got to be ahead of him for the CT
Actually since his return to the national side in Australia, I have seen some signs of his old skills, he has got some swing and seam movement and at times produces a decent delivery which troubles the batsman. His problem is the same as the rest of Pakistan pacers like Sohail Tanvir and Rahat. Mentally weak and no control. Irfan and Wahab are similar in lacking accuracy, but at least they have pace or bounce to give them some margin for error.
Sohail Khan is miles better from what I've seen. Not only in the PSL, but he delivered in the ODI World Cup as well given his limited pace.
Please don't pay attention to someone's post who is absolutely wrong in judgment about Junaid.Junaid was totally mishandled by Pakistan. He was not given enough opportunities like Wahab when Junaid was returning from injury. Before injury, Junaid bowled better than Wahab.Yet, Misbah was not playing Junaid regularly in ODI team.Junaid still has got swing and bowled with some venom in Australia, got breakthroughs. Some Pakistanis are so obsessed with pace that sprayguns like Wahab and Rahat get support.I can just bet any money on this-bowl Junaid and Wahab in tandem for 10 ODIS and 5 tests and Junaid will do better than Wahab in all aspects.
