Wasim Akram speaking about Misbah-ul-Haq on TV:

"I would probably have had different views about Misbah if I had not worked alongside him for Islamabad United"

"To those who think that he hasnt left a legacy I would say that he did not have enough time to build a legacy"

"If there is one issue it is that he hasnt left one good middle-order batsman as he leaves"

"It would have been much better if it was Misbah who would have announced his intention to retire rather than the Chairman saying it ahead of him"

"Whenever I think of Misbah now, I always think of his good memories"

"From what I have seen, Misbah is calm and mellow and sometimes, he moans a bit"

"He loves his cricket and knows it too"

"He was non controversial and that reflected in his batting and captaincy as well"

"Misbah always thinks carefully before he speaks and is not hot & cold in his behaviour, unlike Younis Khan who is sometimes very nice but other times, he is out of the blue a different person and gets angry"

"The decision to remove Misbah as T20 captain and make him retire was a travesty"

"They said T20 is a young man's game and spinners cant play in this game etc - all seemed to be incorrect assumptions"

"Some people said Misbah had personal grudges but that doesnt make sense, why would he drop a bowler that will take wickets which will benefit the captain's record?"

Of course. Making your debut at 34 doesn't give you much time.

Dhoni was able to build a legacy within 4 years, but he had a far better team though.

Lol build a legacy?
Legacy amongest fans? Pakistani people are the kind of bunch you cant make happy.

The guy is a legend. No one could had made this mediocre team no.1

Akram talking rubbish as usual. If you can't build legacy in 10 years then you are a failure of highest order.

Yeah Like you left us reverse swinging fast bowlers when you were in the final stages of your career.

Except IK, i can say no Pak captain has ever been interested in grooming the next crop of players. We are always left with his void.

Come to think of it. Saeed bhai retired in 2003, I was in tenth class. Now I am married & have a job & guess what we still don't have an ODI opener. Whose job was it to groom top order batsmen those days?

I am just sick & tired of this 1992 bunch hounding all the glory for their victories but failing to own their mistakes. They are as much in the wrong as anybody. What culture change did they bring?

tbh Misbah's legacy is far greater than Inzimam's. Inzi left ATG Shoaib Malik for team Pakistan.

Nasim Ashraf leapfrogged a few senior players (Younis, Yousuf, Razzaq are a few names who were captain/vice captains in previous one year in different formats) to select Malik. What followed was dropping of senior players for inaugural t20 WC and groupings in the team. Not Inzi's fault
