Pindi ground should be banned so Ramiz Raja gets further humiliated.

Wait until Pakistan bats so that we can decide if the curator should be banned for producing a dead pitch or Pakistan should be banned for getting out cheaply on a dead pitch.

Think it's a little swipe from BCCI - India pitches don't cover themselves with glory all the time. Mentioning ICC in his tweet is also a little suspect.

Regardless, he has a point.

Though this fat balloon (sorry couldn't control) has no business commenting on this matter, he has a point about crowds.

Indian pitches are not flat. I would take a green mamba or a spitting cobra over this marble top anyday.

Lol why not? Pakistani ex-cricketers and current administrators have made a YouTube career ($$$) out of commenting on India matches and one tweet is ruffling so many feathers? And he’s right too, this pitch and ones used for Australia matches have been absolute roads!

Indian pitches are 10x better than this clown show. I’d take a rank turner or green top any day of the week over the dead pitch in Pindi.

Heard Babar wanted it this way. Great way to pad stats. Unless Anderson catches you fishing outside off

I think anyone( Indian on Pakistan cricket or Pakistani on Indian cricket) trying to make a valid point should be allowed to comment on a matter. Most would agree that it was just not a good presentation of cricket in Pakistan after a long time due to the pitches.

Cricket is not anyones dad's property. Everyone can comment on any game.

hes right, theres not that many teams that can draw crowds for test matches, if u want to protect the game u have to sanction these kinda pitches. its shambolic, but fully expecting pak to implode and the pitch to get a pass.

I agree and hope pakistan gets demerits points now

These pitches are disgusting and make for a snooze fest

The pakistan public deserves much better than what our clowns call a "pitch"
No wonder interest in tests is at an all time low

Its such a shame that this is the 2nd marquee series after the aus series to suffer such a fate

Indian pitches spin...this was an awful pitch..but clearly we will struggle with our batting

Rajeev Shukla going after Rameez Raja - not a big surprise after RR’s comments after T20 WC!

But yeah- I agree, terrible terrible pitch which ordinarily should not produce a result- but as we know our team is fully capable of collapsing on such pitches too.

Bat balloon because he is from Congress? Says a guy who idolize Jay Shah. Thoo

Long gap? Didn't Pakistan just host Australia earlier this year?

All test matches should use a drop in pitch which has been prepared and test to make it an even contest between bat & ball.

This is exactly the type of pitch which is killing tested cricket.

Pakistan will also bat long, drawn match.

I am not sure why people were surprised by this lol In 2006. Pakistan scored 4 centuries i think. IN response Dravid/Sewhag put on a 400 plus partnership.. Generally pakistan pitches are like this with few exceptions.

David "Bumble" Lloyd:

"There are two Tests going on with England playing in Pakistan for the first time in 17 years where the Rawalpindi Stadium was no more than half full for the first day. And Perth is nearly empty for Australia and West Indies. Look at the scores. Australia got almost 600 for four and England were bashing it around like a T20 match. Yes there was some fantastic stroke-play but the public won’t watch if it’s not a proper contest between bat and ball."

"It just seems so unfair to bowlers on these pitches. And it hasn’t always been this way. I can remember some good, entertaining surfaces in Pakistan. So let’s be careful with Test match cricket when it’s under such scrutiny and pressure. The crowds were there in Pakistan for the T20 matches against England earlier this year but will they be for the Tests?"

Its that situation where one feels like screaming to a foreign board to rescue Pakistan Cricket from the PCB. Shambolic management.

Curators are told what to do, someone must have told them to shave off the grass altogether

In fact Babar didn't do that well against SA on a supporting pitch, he loves to statpad. He also wants his mates Azhar Ali and Imam Ul haq to prelong their careers

I think Pakistan cricket is doing a disservice to themselves by preparing such pitches. May be the pitch will remain the same and Pakistan can score 600 as well but what does that prove? Pakistan saw how this strategy can backfire in the series against Australia. I would take the Indian square turners anytime. I know Indian pitches are criticized but again it at least produces results. India do get hammered on those pitches as well but that's the risk worth taking.

If Pakistan continue with this strategy, they are never going to win anything against good sides at home. They should just rely on winning an odd game here and there on sporting pitches on tour.

You can't blame the likes of Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf and co wanting to retire from test cricket having to bowl on such dead wickets. No pace bowler will last long if they are forced to toil away on these wickets.

Let's see what happens when PAK bats.

If they also play a long innings then they should be punished for creating an absolute road for the first test.

Pakistan should kick them out before they retire. Having Test matches on dead wickets is normal. It has happened before & it will happen again.

What is not normal is getting thrashed like this. Both went at over 6 an over & were brutally exposed as the mediocre bowlers that they are.

Sack Ramiz, wasim and Babar alongside the curators.
They definitely deserve to loose a demerit point

You give too much credit to our curators. They have no idea what they’re doing lol

Your uncle Bumrah and the rest of the Indian bowling attack wouldn’t have fared any better. It’s not the bowlers fault the pitch is a road

Calling this pitch a road is unfair to roads. Roads have a lot of pace and bounce. This had absolutely nothing.

He has a valid point. Test cricket is dead and having such pitches doesn't help its cause. However, Pakistan is yet to bat so let's see what happens. May be England will get 800 plus runs if they continue in the same style tomorrow.

Pakistan batting will be under immense scoreboard pressure plus it is not a very consistent batting side. So we may never know.

That tells you how self centered Babar is.

This pitch, the team management and the PCB’s mindset is a disgrace and enemy to the sport. With these people in charge, international cricket should have stayed dead in Pakistan. The biggest of laanats towards the people that have doctored the pitches for the Australia and England home series. I hope ICC come down as hard as they can and penalise Pakistan with as many demerit points as possible, along with a seismic humiliation for their irresponsibility towards the fans and the survival of the sport. SAY NO TO DEAD PITCHES

Incredible.

What is not normal is getting thrashed like this.

And this is the point. You’re spot on.

A day of comfortable batting on a flat pitch in the subcontinent, wherein only 4-5 wickets are taken by the bowling side for around 300 runs, is just normal. Those of us who have been watching Test cricket for a long time know this.

The difference here is the scoring rate. 500 in a day and 6.5+ runs an over being scored consistently.

On a psychological level, such a high run rate alters the game significantly; and, it also reduces the probability that the Test match will be drawn.

Not only did Ramiz get the curators to make pathetic flat pitch with nothing in it, he made the fatal mistake of having them produce it against this English side which bats like demons on pitches much tougher than this. Against any other team this match could have ended in a draw, but against this English side which bats at a RR of 4-5+ on good pitches, it could result in a humiliating defeat.

Regardless, the fans did not pay their money to see this disgrace of a pitch.

This!!!

To score at 6 plus an over for 100 overs is unheard of.

Has it ever happened before?

Hope you watched India vs England earlier in the year. England chased down 380 with 7 wickets to spare in Birmingham batting at 5 pro. Smashing the best seam bowlers in the world in 4th innings like that to win a game was an amazing achievement as well.

Yeah....we saw Babar stat-pad while batting with Naseem Shah on a turner in SL and getting a brilliant match-winning hundred.

Making baseless statements just because you don't like him.

This pitch fiasco is Ramiz's doing, he accepted doctoring the wickets to nullify Aus pacers last time.

So ex chairman of IPL can't comment on Pakistan cricket but self appointed BCCI employees can? :91:

And I think people are taking the credit away from English batters. You give this same pitch to Indian batsmen, do you think they can score at over 6 an over for 100 + overs? :inti

Pakistani batsmen didn't play at their real home for pretty long time. Their batsmen have actually missed the opportunity to improve their stats. They are not as lucky as Indians, Sri Lankans or Bangladeshis. People take this thing for granted. A batsman like Karun Nair scored a triple hundred in India but he is nowhere to be seen. That is how important these stats are for desi selectors. :inti

Why does'nt he just close his trap and concentrate on upgrading our pathetic pitches that turn from the first day, first session onwards? Clear your own backyard first m8....do something to justify the gadzillions that your 'organization' flashes around instead of giving the unwanted gyan!

Simple message for Shukla. Mind your own business. The ICC will be looking in to nothing.

Shukla ji is an embarrassment. Why is he still connected with Indian cricket is beyond me. Anyway, it is none of his business what pitch Pakistan serves. It is their home series and they are free to dish out any pitch they want.

Nothing wrong with what he said. Ramiz has bottled it. Pindi and Karachi both produced results. He has mingled with pitches

Indian pitches always turned from day 1. Watch matches from 90s and early 2000s.

It was only later in 2000s, when they started having flatter pitches with less turn.

Would rather a rank turner than this tbh.

Im glad Mr Shukla has spoken up.

The more pressure on Ramiz the better.

:)))

Drop in pitches sound sexy, but it is basically a mobile pitch used in grounds that are all purpose.

You don't want the likes of Shoe kela to speak.

But yes rank turners or green grasslands are much better.

90s we would tune into watch Pakistan test matches. The pitches had good help for fast bowlers. Pakistan must back these new crop of bowlers to do well.

I don’t know who this random ranjeev dude is, but anyone who criticises this pitch is correct

I hope the ICC does interfere and force Pak to produce better potches. Will be better for Pakistan. Have not watched a ball beyond the first 4 overs. Terrible for the game.

And that was series Babar came back after a longish break due to injury. Posters love to make up stuff like he ordered the pitch to dead flat so he can score runs justbecause they have personal dislike for someone. We all croticse Babar for his captaincy incompetence but do not need to spread rumours to spread hatred toward him or anyone else.

Rawalpindi pitch used be bouncy and quick.I don’t know what has happened.

What I am expecting is that in an effort to an abrupt and sentimental make up for the dead pindi pitch, they will make some crazy a$$ pitch in the next game, and the match will be over in a day and half.

India skipper Hardik Pandya on Sunday slammed the standard of pitches used in the ongoing series against New Zealand and called the track prepared for the second T20I a "shocker". The ball turned in the first T20I in Ranchi and it was no different on Sunday when New Zealand were restricted to 99 for eight. India chased down the target with only one ball to spare. "To be honest, it was a shocker of a wicket. Both the games we have played on so far. I don't mind difficult wickets," said Hardik after the series-leveling win over New Zealand.

"I am all up for that, but these two wickets were not made for T20. Somewhere down the line the curators or the grounds that we are going to play in should make sure they prepare the pitches earlier. Other than that, happy. Even 120 would have been a winning total," he said.

However, The Indian Express reported that it was the Indian team management that requested the Lucknow curator to change the pitch at the last moment. "According to the sources, the curator had prepared two black soil pitches for the game in advance. However, at the behest of a last-minute request from team management three days prior to the match, the curator had been asked to prepare a fresh pitch made of red soil instead. The new pitch could not be adequately prepared on short notice, and led to even slower conditions," said the report.

The report further added that Sanjeev Agarwal from Gwalior has now been appointed as the curator for Lucknow keeping IPL 2023 in mind. The Lucknow Super Giants will play its home matches at the venue and the BCCI can't afford such pitches.

I hope things change politically between the two countries so we can see the true power of cricket in bringing people together
