So, Pakistan's mission:

I feel that no changes should be made to the side.

Babar or Rizwan moving down the order - well that could help!

Pakistan depart for Adelaide from Sydney

Shadab said that his knock of 52 off 22 balls was his best in international cricket, but added that the team’s victory was of utmost importance. “… our captain said ‘just express yourself and don’t worry about anybody or anything else’,” Shadab told reporters after the win.

“Because we can control the controllable things, so we just think about that.”

Shadab also praised Mohammed Nawaz and Iftikhar for making things easier for him by putting together a 52-run partnership before he entered the fray.

“It’s good because, if you score runs and have winning cause, that’s more important and right at that situation. Especially I think credit goes to Nawaz and Iftikhar,” Shadab said.

“They played brilliantly, and they put pressure on the bowlers. When I go, it’s a little bit easier.”

Pakistan is good at no pressure, dead rubber cricket so they will probably win comfortably but won't qualify

I don't think this is happening-> South Africa versus Netherlands is washed out (Pak go through on number of wins)

Sad that Pakistan is relying on other results to qualify.

But that's what happens when you choke in 2 matches.

That zim result is genuinely painful to look at, there's just no way Pakistan should've choked a chase that easy. Not sure what the weather is looking like but it seems unrealistic to rely on Zim beating India.

It was a must win game and after Pakistan facing a lot of stick for losing against Zimbabwe it was an under pressure game. Semi final spots are still open and suggesting that they are almost done so no point of taking pressure or there was no pressure is quite naive.

They will pull out all stops for this one so expect no change.

In-form pacer Taskin Ahmed is having an impressive tournament with the ball as the right-arm quick is admirably leading the Bangladesh pace attack with match-winning performances.

Taskin has taken eight wickets from four games in the Super 12 stage with an impressive economy rate of just seven, and earned two man-of-the-match awards against the Netherlands and Zimbabwe as Bangladesh emerged victorious on both occasions.

The 27-year old has provided breakthroughs in the very first over of the innings thrice in four games and also bowled brilliantly against India at the Adelaide Oval, especially during the powerplay.

Taskin's bowling figure against India was 4-0-15-0, including as many as 16 dot balls.

He now wants to sharpen himself more as a fast bowler and aiming to be a complete player as he believes there is always room for improvement.

“Every game is important for me. Maybe someday I will get a wicket, someday maybe not. But the process I am following is important and maintaining that process is also crucial. My aim is to improve myself in every practice session or game I take part. I want to be a complete player, I want to improve in every aspect and want to focus on improvement every time,” said Taskin after the practice session in Adelaide Friday.

Bangladesh lost narrowly against India yet again in Adelaide as the Tigers fell short by just five runs.

Liton provided a blistering start while chasing 185 and scored 60 off just 27 balls.

Bangladesh were 66 for no loss from seven overs before rain interrupted proceedings.

The revised target in accordance with the Duckworth/Lewis method was 151 from 16 overs and thus Bangladesh needed 85 more runs from nine overs.

But they failed to score that many and eventually lost by five runs.

Taskin informed that the players were deeply hurt after their agonizing loss but are looking forward to finishing the tournament on a high note.

“We all felt bad whenever we lost a match. Even we felt difficulties in getting sleep after such kind of loss. But we have to take positives from these kinds of matches. We are playing good cricket. Hopefully we will finish this tournament on a good note,” said Taskin.

Bangladesh can still qualify for the last four but for that to happen South Africa have to lose against the Netherlands at the Adelaide Oval Sunday, which will be the day's first game, and then Bangladesh have to defeat Pakistan in the evening game at the same venue.

Taskin said players are determined to play the game in proper spirit and that they will fight hard for the win.

“Almost every game in this group has turned out interesting. Still, anything can happen, even miracles can happen as well. But our main target will be playing the last game with the same spirit like the four games we have played in this tournament so far. We will definitely try to win by playing good cricket. If we can win then calculation will come into play but our main target will be to win the next game,” Taskin concluded.

Babar/ Rizwan blindfolded are still a better option then Asif or Khushdil that's how useless they are.

Give Khushdil a proper chance to play his accumulator game and break free at the top of the order

Why Shan tuk tuk bats at 3 and orders nothing to the side?!

Just you know BD just as much chance as Pakistan has should they win. If Ned match vs SA is rained out BD beats pakistan they will find themselves in semi final.

I think Bangladeshi batsmen will be able to score 150-160 at least against us. Let’s see how our batsmen go, I hope Mohamed haris scores big! Would be really entertaining.

There is NO pressure as the chances of qualification are slim.

However, if Netherlands beat South Africa in 1st match, Pakistan will then be UNDER pressure to win as simply a win will be enough for Pak to qualify.

Right now, Pakistan knows that even if they win all 3, they won't qualify if results don't go our away, so PRESSURE is off.

You might not like it, but PRESSURE exists only when there is a REALISTIC CHANCE of something happening.

Not when the boys are told to go out and enjoy themselves because there is a 99 percent chance of them coming home anyways.

Babar/ Rizwan blindfolded are still a better option then Asif or Khushdil that's how useless they are.

Asif Ali the captain will lead the boys to a famous victory, ably supported by Khushdil smashing the poor Bangladeshi bowling about at his earth shattering strike rate of 110 :)))

I must admit that fantasy sounds a lot more fun than reality. I'm starting to see why living in an illogical delusion is preferable to displaying any kind of intelligence.

Pakistan should get a big win.

Pakistani bowling should be too much for BD's brittle batting.

Hi all. Apologies if this is in the wrong thread to post this, or if it's even allowed, but I have 2x adult and 2x children's tickets to this game at Adelaide oval. Free for whomever responds first. I cannot attend. Send me a dm?

Babar, Rizwan, Shan out

Khushdil, Asif, Haider in

No use with this guys , can only last 2 -3 balls and for a team to have three players scoring nothing and cant bowl and field is better walk out without playing

Babar, Rizwan, Shan out

Khushdil, Asif, Haider in

I would not play khushdil and Asif for Papua New Guinea.
The number 11's from all teams can hit more sixes than these 2 if given consistent chances up the order.

Pakistan batsman Shan Masood on Saturday praised his team's character in battling back to stay in the hunt for a semi-finals spot after losing their first two matches at the Twenty20 World Cup.

Captain Babar Azam's side need to win their final Super 12 match against Bangladesh in Adelaide on Sunday -- and for other results to go their way -- to grab a place in the final four.

Pakistan suffered heartbreaking losses to arch-rivals India and Zimbabwe before finding form and drubbing South Africa on Thursday in a dramatic, rain-affected match in Sydney.

"The timing of the losses proved costly for us because we are still not in that top two position," Masood told reporters.

"But we haven't lost hope. Life teaches us harsh lessons and this was one of them. The way it affected the boys, they lost sleep, their morale went down. And how we responded after those setbacks showed our character and it was a big thing.

"The best to come out of failure is that you learn from your mistakes. If we look at it from a balanced point of view, then we see the team has responded well since the loss to Zimbabwe."

Pakistan, currently third in the wide-open Group 2 table, can advance if India lose to Zimbabwe in the last league match on Sunday. They are also in if South Africa lose their clash against the Netherlands or the match is a washout.

Masood said the way Pakistan fought back to post 185-9 against South Africa, after being in trouble at 43-4, and then winning by 33 runs via the DLS method had lifted the morale of the team.

"Mood is good. South Africa dominated the early stages of the game, but the way we came back and bowled well, even after the rain break, we kept up our momentum," said Masood.

"So we will focus on taking two points from the Bangladesh game and that is in our hands. Hope will always be there till the last ball is bowled in this group."

Bangladesh, who had narrow wins over the Netherlands and Zimbabwe, also have a slim chance to advance if they win against Pakistan at the Adelaide Oval.

The Tigers gave India a scare in their previous match -- decided by the DLS method -- and are level at four points with Pakistan, but with a far inferior run-rate.

But technical consultant Sridharan Sriram said he is proud of the show his boys have put on in this tournament.

"This is the best tournament Bangladesh has ever had in a T20 World Cup," Sriram told reporters.

"We've never won two games in Super 12s in the history of Bangladesh cricket, so we've done that, so I think the boys should be proud of themselves."

Can someone please confirm my equations here?

For Bangladesh:
If SA loose to Netherlands and Bangladesh win against Pakistan tomorrow - Bangladesh is through along with India

For Pakistan:
If both SA and Pakistan win and India loose to Zimbabwe, SA and Pak are both through- India and Bangladesh are out
If SA loose and Pakistan win ,Pakistan and India is through,SA and Bangladesh out
If both SA and Pakistan win and India wins against Zimbabwe, SA and India are both through- Pakistan and Bangladesh are out.

Am I right

Bangladesh's T20 technical consultant Sridharan Sriram said that the Tigers are capable of beating Pakistan in their final Super 12 fixture of the T20 World Cup in Adelaide tomorrow.

"We believe we can beat Pakistan but qualifying to the semifinals is not in our hands, unfortunately," Sriram said at the pre-match press conference today.

Only beating Pakistan tomorrow will not see the Tigers make it to their first-ever semi-final in T20 World Cup as they would need the other results to go their way as well. Bangladesh would need any one of India or South Africa to lose their final Super 12 fixtures against Zimbabwe and the Netherlands, respectively, in addition to beating Pakistan for making it to the last four of the tournament in Australia.

Bangladesh come off a narrow four-run defeat to India in their last game and hope for another great contest tomorrow against Pakistan.

"I think they are a very good side. We had opportunities in both games we played against them in New Zealand. We are aware of their strengths and they are aware of what our strengths are. So, it will be great contest tomorrow," Sriram added.

Bangladesh lost to Pakistan in both the T20Is played against them in the tri-nation series involving hosts New Zealand just before the World Cup.

However, regardless of what happens against Pakistan tomorrow, Sriram said that this has been the best outing for Bangladesh in T20 World Cups as they won two matches in the Super 12 stage -- against the Netherlands and Zimbabwe -- for the first time in history.

"This is the best tournament Bangladesh has ever had in a T20 World Cup. We never won two games in the Super 12 in the history of Bangladesh cricket. We have done that. So, I think the boys should be proud of themselves," Sriram added.

Khusdil , Asif cannot play for the pace and bounce in Australia..

Coming back with your favs to be selected.. Khusdil showed wats his technique in the only warm up match...

Asif showed twice he can use his helmet to smack short pitch bowling.

Your strategy seems to be keep quiet for few matches and then people will forget how Asif head the cricket ball with helmet..

Babar has a total of 14 runs in 4 outings and that too in powerplay

Failure is part and parcel of cricket

The problem with all these qualification scenarios is that both South Africa and India have two absolute world class minnow-bashers in de Kock and Rohit (coupled with KL Rahul, although I fear that it might just turn out to be Rohit´s day tomorrow).

A certain Kohli was coming into the cup finished and all though we made it easy for him he’s back into form so Babar will come back, but his best position is number 3

Also how can South Africa Vs Netherlands be washed out, then the skies miraculously open, the sun shines though and the pitch dries enough in 10 minutes for our game to start on time at the same ground?

Washout is unlikely.

BD-Pak and SA-Netherlands game have clear weather forecasted (same venue).

Weather seems fine at Adelaide tommorrow. The straight boundaries are 79m and 82m from either ends. While teh sqaure boundaries are 63m and 62m. So batsmen who are good square either side of the wicket are going to amke merry.

Pakistan and South Africa play in Adelaide on the same day twice. Rain will hurt both the teams. We will have to hope for a miracle

Tomorrow might be the last day of Pakistan in the world cup. Headline will be "Pakistan eliminated by 1 Run"
