As the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is underway, injuries are an unfortunate but inevitable part of any major tournament. Injuries to key players can significantly impact their team's chances. Let's see which team will be hit the hardest and how they will adapt to the losses.

According to reports, Bangladesh left-arm seamer Shoriful Islam suffered a split injury between his index and middle fingers on his left hand while bowling the final over in the warm-up match against India in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. After receiving initial medical attention, he was taken to Nassau University Medical Centre, where a hand surgeon administered six stitches. Shoriful will visit the surgeon again in two days, after which it will be determined how long his recovery will take.

Today, during the Australia vs Oman game, Mitchell Starc left the field due to some cramps.

Now the Aussie Captain Mitchell Marsh has provided an update on Starc.

He said in the post-match presentation:

"Starcy was just a cramp so didn't want to take a chance. When Starcy says I am okay to go off you let him go off."

Hopefully someone slide tackles Imad in training so he can be sent home. Pay for his dodgy kneecap replacement with his franchise league money.

His fitness was never top-notch and while batting against India he was clearly struggling in running between the wickets and he was also struggling to middle the ball. How can you send such a player who is not fully fit to bat in such a crucial time?

England wait on Livingstone fitness at World Cup

England are waiting on the fitness of all-rounder Liam Livingstone before their Super 8s match against West Indies at the T20 World Cup on Wednesday (Thursday 01:30 BST).

Livingstone, 30, has played in England's past 15 T20 games but injured his side while batting in Saturday's win against Namibia and did not field.

He batted briefly in the nets when England trained in St Lucia on Monday but did not bowl.

He returned to the hotel for treatment and did not practice range hitting with his team-mates.

Livingstone has only bowled two overs in this tournament - a tidy 1-15 in the defeat by Australia in Barbados - but his ability to bowl off and leg-spin has been an important part of their attack.

He scored 13 from four balls against Namibia and made 15 against Australia in his only other innings in the group stage.
