The International Cricket Council has today announced coverage plans for the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2020, with ICC TV set to produce live coverage of 20 matches, with short form digital highlights from every other non-televised match.

Distribution of the live coverage will be supported by ICC’s Global Broadcast Partner, Star Sports, and 13 other Broadcast Partners, making available the live coverage to over 175 territories worldwide. Broadcast Partners include, Star Sports (India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the rest of the Indian Sub-continent), Sky Sports (United Kingdom & Republic of Ireland), SuperSport (South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa), E-Vision (United Arab Emirates), Fox Sports Australia (Australia), Willow TV (USA), Willow Canada (Canada), Sky TV (New Zealand), PTV (Pakistan), ESPN (Caribbean), Digicel (Asia Pacific), Radio Television Afghanistan (Afghanistan), Star Cricket (Hong Kong) and YuppTV.com (Continental Europe, MENA (excl. UAE) and Central Asia).

Local broadcaster, SuperSport, will bring coverage of the tournament to fans in the host country broadcasting all 20 matches across the SuperSport network.

Fans in the Indian Subcontinent (Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka) as well as Afghanistan can catch near-live in-match action and post-match highlights via the ICC Facebook page. In addition, post-match highlights and a range of event features, media conferences and archive material will be available to view in over 200 territories on ICC’s Facebook page, as well as the ICC Instagram page.

Elsewhere, in-match digital coverage and post-match highlights of selected matches for fans in the United Kingdom and New Zealand, will be made available by the BBC (United Kingdom) and Spark Sport (New Zealand).

Digital fans can follow the tournament via the official ICC mobile App and website including news, results and highlights for all televised and non-televised games.

The ICC’s official social media channels will bring you closer than ever to the action with content delivered across Facebook and Instagram and fans can join in the discussion by using the hashtags #U19CWC and #futurestars.

ICC TV will produce coverage of 20 of the 48 scheduled matches, led by a strong commentary line-up. Leading coaches from England and Australia, Andy Flower and Tom Moody will be on hand to analyze the performances of future stars from around the world. Former South Africa star JP Duminy will join them on this panel.

Andy Flower: “The ICC U19 Cricket World Cup will draw the most promising players from around the world, creating a wonderful opportunity for us to watch cricket’s future stars in action. This is a great opportunity for the players on the world stage and also a chance to spot their potential and I'm really looking forward to commentate at this exciting tournament.”

Tom Moody: “The best thing about this event is that we get to watch the best young cricketers from around the world. The likes of Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, Kane Williamson and Kagiso Rabada have all come through the U19s and I am sure there will be many from this tournament who will go on to play top-class cricket. From a personal point of view it's a great opportunity to observe new trends in the game plus identify emerging talent."

JP Duminy: “Having had the great privilege of playing all over the world against some of the best, I'm excited to be on the other side of the microphone sharing my views on our beautiful game. Representing your country is an amazing achievement and the Under-19 level is a great stepping stone for these young men to test their skills and mental capacity against the best in their age group. This event gives us all a great opportunity to see what our next generation has to offer.”

Other members of the commentary team include former West Indies fast bowler Ian Bishop, former Zimbabwe pacer Mpumelelo Mbangwa and former England seamer Dominic Cork. Former internationals Bazid Khan and Rohan Gavaskar will bring the Asian perspective. Alongside them will be leading broadcasters Alan Wilkins, Mike Haysman, Natalie Germanos and HD Ackerman.

ICC TV’s coverage will be supported by Sunset+Vine for production services and NEP Broadcast Solutions for equipment services. The graphics will be brought alive on screen by scoring and graphics output specialists Alston Elliot.

ICC TV will provide a fully produced programme which will allow broadcasters to transmit the matches without the need for a unilateral presentation set-up. A pre-game build-up show, an innings break show and a post-game wrap-up will be produced by ICC TV, in addition to the match coverage. The build-up will begin 15 minutes before the start of play and include the toss, pitch report and match previews. The innings break programming will also dip into the archives to revisit classic encounters from previous editions of the ICC U19 CWC. The match day coverage will end with a brief wrap-up of the day’s proceedings.

Very poor from Starsports

Surely Pakistan vs Bangladesh deserved to be telecasted

i said before there was no Pakistan Game as Indias game all got priority..

So only 8 matches from group stages will be broadcast including India vs Japan and SA vs UAE. Poor stuff from ICC and broadcasters.

Was looking forward to see pak young speed star amir bowling .😡😡😡

Now will have to wait till quarter final thank you icc😓😭

Heck India VS Japan of all teams is being Broadcasted Ahead of others
What a message being sent to other countries fan that You dont mean a jack Its India and India only

Is anyone really surprised? I’m personally not. This one-sides vendetta to isolate and harm Pakistan cricket is getting old.

No point in complaining about it anymore. PCB should come up with their own broadcast arrangement with ICC if they have the resources for their own games.

Oh well - guess we will just have to see the boys whoop teams in the knockout stages as they storm their way to the trophy inshAllah :)

Pakistan got all out for 69 against india last world cup, that was still broadcasted :afridi

Pakistan-India games in World Cups should never be broadcast :ashwin

Anyway, that was a semi-final... Before this tournament, I didn't even know Japan has a cricket scene.

I am not sure why everything needs to be related to so-called Indian vendetta against PAK. India generates revenue if its matches are telecast, Pakistan does not. Why should Pakistan expect Khairat from anyone? Even Japan, BD, SL matches are not telecast unless they are against India. India is directly or indirectly paying for their telecast.

Pakistan can also generate revenue or pay channels directly to telecast its matches. No one is in the business for charity.

How do you generate revenue when the game lasts <20% of duration and is against a team which would not even make a decent School team?

There were only 2 matches scheduled for today

India vs Japan
Bangladesh vs Scotland

I don't see BD fans complaining over their matches not being televised even though their team is aming the 3 best under 19 teams. Whereas fans of the team which failed to qualify for semis of last 2 U19 Asia Cups are making conspiracy theories.

And who does the scheduling? And who in their right mind would televise a game against Japan in cricket?

Top 3 best?
Lol are you high?

It's probably PAK IND AUS WI
then BD.
Then SA NZ AFG SL

India in their right mind will televise their match against Japan? This is for Indian viewers who ar spaying for it.

Who in the right mind will waste money telecasting a match where neither country can afford to pay.

And Indians would watch that rubbish. You really are insulting the intelligence of the Ind viewers.

Schedules are obviously made keeping broadcast possibilities in mind. Bangladesh vs Scotland didn't have to be the only other game today.

U19 Asia Cups don't take precedence over the U19 World Cup where Pakistan reached the SFs last time.

Number of TV games in the group phase of the U19 World Cup:

3: India
2: Australia, England, South Africa, West Indies
1: Afghanistan, Japan, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, UAE
0: Bangladesh, Canada, Nigeria, Pakistan, Scotland, Zimbabwe.

Yeah, completely fair schedule.

It’s nothing to do with fairness or otherwise. Pakistani advertisers could pay to telecast their matches. Alternately Pakistan team could have been in the same group as big-3 or exciting WI.

Let’s hope that Pakistan reaches Semi so we can watch their matches.

ICC broadcasters are STAR NETWORK...so obviously every world cup no matter what it is even warm up matches India will get all the priority its pretty simple

QF would be enough

It has everything to do with fairness. You think Afghan and Japanese broadcasters paid to have their matches telecasted?

the only reason the Afghans got one of their matches broadcasted was that it was the first match of the tournament. Only their first match has been broadcasted no other.

The only reason Japan had one of their matches broadcasted was because they were playing India and all of India's matches have been broadcasted.

If Japan weren't playing India and Afghanistan's first match wasn't the first match of the tournament, then neither sides matches would have been broadcasted

Why is PTV not broadcasting Pakistan matches... they broadcasted India v Japan game shamelessly to make some advertising money..

What is PTV supposed to do?

ICC weren't broadcasting Pak's matches so how can PTV broadcast them?

They broadcasted India's match because it was being broadcasted everywhere else too

For those asking about u19 TV coverage.
