ICL: ICL-BD beats ICL-India

LOLZ...india again lost to bangladesh yet again..... :)))

The nighmare of WC2007 comes back and haunts Indians again..... :))

It was a superb innings by Nafees and an even better performance from Alok Kapali who really should have played for BAN a LOT MORE than he actually did.

Alok has actually played around 70 ODIs and something like 17/18 Tests for Bangladesh. But like a lot of the other Bangladeshi players he was forced into the international scene very early and struggled to cope with the pressure and was dropped. Now at 25 he is showing his true ability and it's a pity that he isn't available for Bangladesh duty.

What do you think should be the BAN final 11 for ODIs if the ban is lifted?
IMO this ban on ban has taken BAN cricket right back to square one.

I'm a fan of ur Bangladeshi team then i am of Pakistan cricket some times. Like the 11 that played yesterday of Pakistan was kinda boring to me then this Bangladeshi team that i saw today. i was really into this match then i was yesterdays and I'm really happy to see this team win today. The only thing i don't get is what role does the Bangladeshi captain play other then captaincy. he just seems to be the brains for the team. I just haven't seen him play a captains knock before.

I am biased. I think only Dhiman has what it takes to be a good international cricketer. The rest (unless they change their approach to the game) are not suited for intl games. SN, Nazimuddin, Alok, Aftab are mentally not ready. Ash is also in this group. The further they stay away from BD the better chance we have to be competitive. Had they been in the national team, Steyn would have swallowed them alive. Going after the bowler from ball 1 is not cricket. All that potential goes down the drain. Right now we don't need potentials without brains leading the team. Not only they continuously fail but also put up a bad example for youngsters who are watching or coming up the ranks. The bat is not a sword.

S Nafees looks like a really sensible player, i think he has a good future.

Alok can add a new dimension to the team with his wrist spin bowling and good hitting(he seems to be on the right track)

Aftab on the other hand is very Ashraful like and plays some incredibly silly shots.

All correct but when you change the format (t20 to 50/50 or a 5 dayer) they will let you down. Because they can't change the t20 mind set, mindless hitting without any technic. I use to think SN was the future BD captain. He enrolled himself in Dhaka University. Well, after that century against Australia (in '06 test) he was a shadow of himself. He got married at the age of 20/21. Family expanded; priority and concentration shifted. Had a disasterous WC 2007. The heir of BD captain lost his mojo. Started pointing fingers to others instead of himself when he got dropped because of lack of performance.

The more flashy these players look the less likely they can stay at the crease in the longer version of the game. That is what my experience say. I wish them all the best on what they are trying to do. I also like the current BD national team minus Ash.

Congrats to BD

They played some great shots and deserved to win, especially after Indian ICL spilled a million catches. BD has the potential to win the cup but only if the players believe in themselves. Most of them seem almost afraid to dream big.
