Surely if there is some truth to that we could have been a USA of the Asian subcontinent. Or is it that whatever money is going in is just paying off more debts?? Billion dollars could build new infrastructure, create new jobs and fund everything and anything. Are we being irresponsible ? We could very well fund it back in science and technology. Heck even use it towards our sports teams infrastructure training and development and even our crumbling music and movie industry....

It's not 'aid', but reimbursement for costs incurred.
Do you think it doesn't cost money to fund the security/transfer/shipment of everything, from food to fuel to equipment, that gets offloaded at Pakistani seaports and then delivered through to the Americans in Afghanistan thousands of miles away?
Do you you think it doesn't cost money to pay for soldiers salaries, supports costs and military hardware costs that Pakistan spends on trying to seal thousands of miles of it's border on behalf of the Americans/Afghanistan?
If Pakistan said we're not going to spend any money on any of the above, how do you think that will affect the American effort in Afghanistan?
Don't look at the childish political rhetoric. Look at the logistics and associated costs.
