"If Umar Akmal (UA) had any issues he should have reported it to PCB rather than speaking to media. He has signed a contract with us and he is not allowed to talk to media"
"UA should have told us (PCB), we would have set up an enquiry and enquired the issue. He has choosen wrong platform to report the issue. That's why we sent him a Show Cause Notice"
"The way he is discrediting PCB and our coaches without any evidence is not acceptable"
"During the past we had taken soft stance regarding UA's discipline problems but I guarantee you this time we will take strict action against him"
Bringing players back from CPL
"I have done nothing wrong. Players were given NOCs and it was clearly mentioned that they will have to return incase of national duty, there is nothing wrong about it, this is going on from last 40 years, players are given NOC's under a condition that they will return incase of national duty"
"Every board follows the same rule(regarding NOC's. It is good that players earn money through leagues but they have to give highest preference to domestic cricket. Every board calls back their players from leagues if there is a domestic tournament or for national duty. This happened during PSL as well, players left after playing 3-4 matches bcz they had to play in domestic tournaments or represent their country"
"I am amazed that people are calling National T20 cup ordinary. This is our premier domestic tournament where top teams of our country participate and compete. It is from this tournament that players are picked for PSL. Best players and best teams compete in this tournament so how is it ordinary"
Sri Lanka Visit
"During my SL visit I put forward two things"
1. U19 Asia Cup
"U19 asia cup should be shifted from India to any other peaceful country. We cannot play in India as it is not secure for us. I conveyed it to ACC and everyone agreed and it was decided that the U19 Asia Cup would be held in Malaysia where every team including India will play. India and Pakistan will also play against each other in this cup."
2. SL touring Pakistan
"We were trying to convince SLC from a long time to visit Pakistan but they were not ready to tour. During the PSL, SLC and six other boards had sent their security experts. SLC security expert had given a positive feedback to SLC."
"I told SLC officials that they should come to Pakistan now as World XI is also coming to Pakistan this september and World XI tour has also got ICC's support. I told them they should keep an eye on World XI tour and security provided for it and then travel to Pakistan. I exactly used these words " this will be a small step for you but a huge thing for us".
Hosting of matches in Lahore only
"We want to hold matches in both Lahore and Karachi and we request everybody to play in Karachi as well. But unfortunately people have wrong impressions about Karachi, they are talking about past incidents, the situation in Karachi is also good now, it is also safe but people have wrong impressions about Karachi while as Lahore is seen as a safe place. We are working so that matches are held in Karachi as well."
